The Hallways

I strutted down the halls, earning some looks. I honestly didn't care. Let them look. It's not like I haven't earned the looks already. I sighed, jumping up on on of the open windows and sat down. I looked around the hall, seeing the students come and go. I glared at the few Gryffendors that passed by me. I twisted around, facing Hogwarts little lawn. I thought of it as a lawn. Some people thing its a 'meadow'. After spinning around, I swung my legs over the edge of the window seat. I smiled at a few of the other Slytherins, keeping my eyes out for Harry Potter or any of his weird friends.

Pansy batted her eyelashes up at me as I recounted the argument that I'd just had with Nott and I barely kept myself from cringing. I knew it wasn't proper to reject her; she was a Pureblood and father was on agreeable terms with her family, but I wasn't interested in being married off to her. She simpered and whined and spent too much of her time trying to get a reaction out of me. But, hey, who am I to refuse a follower? She was listening, she was honoring, doing exactly what I wanted and deserved.
I was just done recounting my last comeback to Theodore when we rounded a corner and I spotted Cira sitting in a window seat. Besides Nott, Cira was one of the only Slytherins that didn't follow my every move and praise it afterward. That probably had something to do with the fact that she wasn't just a Slytherin at school; she was actually Cira Slytherin, descendant of Salazar. Still, it bothered me a little that I was minus one cronie without her.
"Slytherin!" I called out to her. Pansy jabbed me with her elbow and made a face, shaking her head disapprovingly. I shrugged and waited to see if she would talk to me.

I turned my head at the sound of my name being called, flipping my hair. I resisted smiling as I saw that it was Draco who called my name.
"Need something, Malfoy?" I said. I turned my gaze to Pansy for a second. She was looking pleadingly at Draco, trying to re-claim is attention. She must think that I am competition at her impossible mission to try to get Draco for herself. I resisted rolling my eyes. I didn't pity the girl, but someone should. Did she even have a life?

I smirked at Pansy tugging on my robes, trying to tell me about some boy that Millicent had tried to snog. She'd do anything to keep my attention, which I guess she thought she owned. I flicked her hand away and tried to think of something to actually say to Cira. Then I remembered that she had been in the Arithmancy room with me when I'd told off Nott.
"I was just telling Pansy here about my epic battle of wits with Theodore. You were there, weren't you? I'm sure you can assure her of my brilliance." I thought smugly of how Nott had sulked as he slumped away. I had finally figured out that the boy had a weak spot for his mother, who, although a pureblood, wasn't as loyal as she should be. He'd been easy to take down with a few well-placed comments.

I glanced at Pansy again, then jumped up, gracefully landing down on the ground. I walked toward Draco, stopping a few yards from him, crossing my arms.
"Why should I assure her? It looks like she already thinks your brilliant. Yes, I was there. Its hard to believe that he ended up in Slytherin." I raised one eyebrow. I laughed as I spotted Nott glaring at Draco a few feet from were I was standing. I know he could hear me. His eyes flickered to me, as I saw out of the corner of my eye him back away. Oh, Draco Malfoy and Cira Slyhterin talking about you must not be the best thing to happen to you at this school. "Looks like you lost yourself a possible Cronie."

Pansy blushed furious and I felt myself smiling in spite of myself. This girl sure knew how to make them fold. And insulting Nott? He was only an adversary because he refused to give in; he was, in fact, a worthy opponent, very intelligent. I knew that after he heard this little exchange I wouldn't be dealing with him again. If word got around that Cira Slytherin put him down, he was doomed, at least among the Slytherins.
"Not that I need anymore," I replied, gesturing at Pansy, who looked offended. "Wouldn't have wanted Nott for one anyway. Next thing you know he'll be running around with blood traitors. But, let's not disgrace our tongues with his name any further. What are you doing when classes finish?" A bunch of us slytherins had made it a habit to spend time together roaming the halls, badgering Hufflepuffs. Besides, Pansy and I had to patrol the halls anyway, as prefects.

"Oh, just wondering the halls. Turning students into slugs. The usual." I shrugged. "Oh, and Pansy, are you allergic to anything here? Your face is a tad puffed up." I truth, her face was swollen and red, but that was because she was blushing. She must like Draco more then anyone notices. I smirked, flipping my hair over my shoulder. A few of the guys gave me some looks, and I glared at them to make them back off. Most of them looked away, but a few more braver boys keep looking. I narrowed my eyes, seeing them one more death glare before turning back to look at Draco to see his reaction to what I said to Pansy.

I waited, shocked, for Pansy's reaction to the way she was being treated. She stuttered a few times, trying to form a comeback, then mumbled something about Millicent's cat and spontaneous asthmatic reactions. For good measure, she grabbed my hand and twined her fingers with mine. Defying by actions instead of words...sometimes Pansy really did make a good move, but usually only after completely embarrassing herself.
"Oh, I think she's just a little warm. Anyhow, I was wondering if you'd like to make rounds with us tonight...Crabbe and Goyle will be there, along with Zabini and the Greengrass girls." I hoped I had at least named someone she was fond of. I didn't know as much about Cira as I needed to, and the easiest way would be to see how she reacted in a group of followers. Would she meld in and end up a whimpering handmaid, or would she keep up the bold facade she sported now?

I glanced down at Draco's and Pansy's entwined hands and resisted sighing.
"Crabbe? Goyle? Those two boys who are so obviously in love with me?" I rolled me eyes. "Sure. Why not. It's not like I have anything better to do." I stepped forward, getting closer to Draco than I usually got. "Besides, maybe well run into Nott again and you two will really go at it. Hey, there would be a real fight for once. Its getting a tad boring around here." I smiled, slipping my wand out from my robes. I waved it quickly, watching as a few plants basically exploded. I was careful to act as shocked as everyone else at the plants, quickly putting my wand back into a hidden pocket that I had on the side of my robe. "By the way, what exactly are you going to be doing? Sneaking into Harry Potters room and setting fire to something?" I snorted. That seemed just like something Draco would do. I would be laughing if that happened. Poor Potter needs to be delt with.

I raised my eybrows and let out a stiff, "Ha," and Pansy twittered beside me. I considered what Cira had said about a real fight with Nott. Whether she meant physical or magical, I was up for it. But setting Potter's things on fire? That might have been a move I'd have pulled a few years ago, but I worked in much more mysterious ways these days. Pansy seemed to be getting restless at my side as I thought, but I stroked the side of her hand a few times with my thumb and she quieted, leaning against me. With my personal bubble now doubly breached, I replied to Cira.
"Ah, nothing so childish as all that. Perhaps we'll lock him up in the toilets with Moaning Myrtle...or hex a few of his parts off. Or both." I shrugged nonchalantly. "We're mostly just making our rounds anyway, Pansy and I. Prefect business, you know?" I buffed my badge and Pansy gleamed up at me with pride as she touched hers with her free hand.

I sent a very sneaky glare at Pansy, causing her to shudder. My smile turned into a sneer.
"I would have thought you to me a bit more creative, Malfoy." I said, becoming a bit more into my bratty self as I glared at him and Pansy. After walking even closer to Draco, I said, "I'll be there. This spot, midnight. That's were you'll find me. Oh, and," I brought my face close to his, and whispered into his ear. "You might want to deal with Pansy, looks like she thinks your getting cuddly with her. I know you, and you don't want to lead her on, now do you?" I pulled away, turning around and walked away, toward the lawn.

My face instantly twisted into a grimace. I set off to follow her when I realized I was pulling Pansy along with me. She screeched as I jerked my arm forward, slinging her in a semi-circle. She took a step sideways to stand in front of me, hand still in mine. "What did she say to you?" she demanded, her pug face scrunching as she spoke. "And where are you going now?"
"Wait here, Pansy," I said, attempting to wrench my hand from hers. She held on tighter and pulled close to me, making eyes. "I said, wait, Parkinson," I spit at her, and she let go as if I had struck her. For a moment, regret rushed through me, but I pushed it away and walked quickly after Cira.
"Oi, Cira!" I cried, when I realized I couldn't catch her. Malfoys don't run.

I kept walking, dodging the other students as I made my way to my favorite tree. I jumped, catching a hold of one of the branches and started to clime to the top of the tree. I sat down on one of the highest branches, enclosing myself into the shadows. I must have looked a bit scary, my pale face standing out in the darkness of the tree's, twisted into a scowl. I almost laughed out loud at the look of Pansy's face. I wondered what Draco said to her. Shaking my head, I saw Draco following me. He was just making his way across the lawn.

I managed to hold my pace to a brisk walk and glanced up to find the girl sitting in a tree. I would have laughed, if it wasn't something that I did often. However, as she sat there, solitary, she looked more ominous and demanding than anyone else could have. I cast a look over my shoulder to make sure that Pansy wasn't following me and was shocked to see that she was clutching Zabini. Probably crying, but I couldn't see from a distance. I shook my head and knew that I'd have to do something equivalent to an apology later if I wanted to keep her as part of my little herd.

I placed my hands on my hips, hoping I didn't look like a girl, and projected my voice upwards into the tree. "I'd join you, but, you know, 'Malfoy and Slytherin sitting in a tree' is not something I'm up for hearing today. I think you ought to come down and explain yourself."

I leaned over the tree, glaring down at Draco.
"You really think anyone could get away with saying that?" I asked him. It was as if he didn't know who I was. "Besides, your a man... A lose interpretation of the word, I will admit, but shouldn't you be the one coming up her? I am only female, Draco." I continued, unnoticeabley making the slip and calling him by his first name. I had my eye narrowed, staring down at him.

I raised one eyebrow at her mention of my first name, but walked closer to the tree anyway. "Fine," I said, grabbing a branch, "but you're dealing with the rumours later. And if my robes get torn, you and your brother won't make good marks in Potions for a year." It was an empty threat, but it made me feel better as I clambered up the tree, feeling foolish. Father did have quite a bit of say in the school, which I flaunted freely, but I highly doubted that he could convince Professor Snape to fail the Slytherin siblings. Once I had made my way into a branch near Cira's, I faced her with a frown.
"Now then. What is this that you seem to think you know about Parkinson?"

I leaned back, resting my head on another branch.
"Think to know? Malfoy, I do know. Have you not noticed the way she looks at you? Sure, I have herd rumors of how dimwitted you are, but I never thought that those rumors were actually true. Oh, and good luck in trying to fail me in any class. You'll find yourself in so much hot water its wont be funny." I answered him, lifting my chin up the slightest bit. "And have you even seen my brother?" Brian was one of the burliest kids in Hogwards. Draco wouldn't have a chance against him, Magic wise or in a physical fight. I almost laughed at the thought. I stared at Draco, glowering.

Ignoring the remarks about her brother, who I had no issues with, I frowned at her. How could she so casually insult me? Who did she think she was? It took me a moment to realize that even if she didn't have the right to criticize me, she was a strong force in Hogwarts. She earned her glory from not only her name but her talents, as I had attempted to throughout the years.
"I'm not as much of a troll as you think I am, Slytherin. Of course I've noticed how she looks at me. I have all sorts of unwarranted attention from girls, if you hadn't noticed." I paused for a moment, preparing an explanation for why I allowed Pansy to act the way she did. I was distracted by a third year who walked past beneath us, gazing up in awe at the pair of us. The poor boy seemed enchanted, and I was reminded that I was not the only one in this tree that had admirers. I knew that the boys of Slytherin, not to mention the other houses, thought Cira was a very desirable partner. I decided to keep that in mind. "It's not my fault that I'm so fiendishly attractive. Blame my father for that. Besides, Pansy is like...it's rather like a lawn chair. She's by no means something that you would pick right off, certainly not your favorite, but she's convenient and portable." I smirked at my own wit. It wasn't exactly how I felt about her, but it was close enough.

Ginny Weasley--

Umbridge is a bitch. I guess i know why Harry has been wearing his right hand bandaged these days. He's been given so many detentions with her... No. I told myself I would stop thinking about him. I've already promised Hermione that I had gotten over him. That's a promise I want to keep. And if Ron found out that I still like him there would be hell to pay.

"Are you lost, my lady? I could help you find your way," said Sir Cadogan, the overly confident picture.

"I'm not lost, just late," I said irritably.

"To what?" He said, now sprinting through portraits to keep up with me as I ascended the spiraling stairs.

"Divination, of course. That's the only class up here." I despised Divination. It was a stupid, inaccurate class that I wish I could quit. I could just imagine the Howler from mum if I dropped Divination like Hermione.

"Ah! I know how to get there, I could..." Sir Cadogan's voice faded as I sprinted up the last flight of stairs, going too fast for him.

I got to the door of the Divination room and put my hand on the latch, the scar from my detention still on my hand. I knew that this double Divination with the Slytherins was not going to be good.
