Guess Who?*Robert Court Watson, Jr.**
*
Nice To Meet youName: Robert Watson, Jr.
Nicknames: Court, Watts
Age: 17
Year: 7th
Gender: Male
House: Gryffindor
Blood Status: Muggleborn
Era: Next Era
Face Claim: Chace Crawford
Well Isn't this a surpriseFamily: father - Robert Watson, Sr. - age 35, owner of a tavern. Mother - Candessa “Dess” Watson - age 34, secretary. Brother - Sean Watson - age 12, Muggle. Sisters - Rachel Watson, age 9, Muggle. Dinah Watson, age 7, witch.
Personality: Court is a rough and tumble sort of guy who’s never known anything but fighting and not-so-innocent mischief. He doesn’t like to be told what to do or when to do it, especially by adults. Getting his way by force comes naturally, as does blaming all of his misdeeds on other students. He doesn’t care much for house points and usually passes the buck off to someone in his own house, just to piss everyone off. He misses his friends but he wouldn’t ever actually say that, even to them. Everyone at school knows to steer clear of him, generally, so the only girls who have ever given him the time of day are the type of girls who are out on the streets at night during the summer.
Court hasn’t decided yet whether he wants to live in the Muggle world or the wizarding world. In fact, he hasn’t even decided if he’ll finish his final year of school. He finds classes pointless and prefers to skip them and go down to the forest, usually with a harmonica that he nicked from a Hufflepuff in his second year. He’s cheated his way through the past few years of schooling and tries to take the easiest classes, reducing the time spent copying other people’s homework and adding to the time he can roam around, looking cool and aching for a fight. The one thing Court can’t stand, though, is to have his flaws pointed out to him. He knows he’s not the brightest crayon in the box (his nickname, Watts, is even a loving reminder of this) but he’s very insecure about being called stupid
History: Robert Court Watson, Sr. was only 18 when he discovered that his girlfriend Dess was pregnant. His uncle Darren stepped in immediately, knowing that his deceased brother and sister-in-law would have wanted a better life for their son. Robbie and Dess got married and when their son, nicknamed Court, was born, Dess was able to go make to school and get a decent job in a nice company, where she worked all day. Robbie worked in his uncle’s pub, taking over it when he died, and was gone all night, every night. As Court got older, he was allowed on his own more and started to run with the boys on the streets, throwing rocks through windows and setting abandoned houses on fire. Around the time that his brother, Sean, was born, Court started to show signs of magic, but his parents tried to ignore it and said that Court was acting out in jealousy of his brother. For Court, magic was something that just happened, but he was happy to use it to cheat at races and fights.
As Court got older, his behavior didn’t improve, even as his sisters, Rachel and Dinah, were born. When he turned 11 and received his letter for Hogwarts, he battled his parents for weeks, insisting that he didn’t need to go to some stuck-up school full of rich little fairies. Finally, though, his parents decided that is was best for him to go, as his roguish ways were beginning to wear off on his younger brother. Forced into the world of magic, Court was sorted into Gryffindor, where he gave no one the time of day until a third year pushed him in the hallway. The resulting fight was bloody and spirited, and Court had found his first friend. Before long, he had his own gang of older students who were jealous of his time spent out on the streets, in the “real world.” Over the years, their group was tight-knit and ill-natured, and everyone pretty much knew to leave them alone.
This year, though, Court’s final year at Hogwarts, is tainted by two events: 1) all of his friends have left Hogwarts, either through graduating or dropping out; 2) his parents, unhappy and disgusted by his behavior in school as well as over the summers, have told him not to return home when he leaves Hogwarts. His younger brother, Sean, has turned out to be a brilliant student and a good kid, and the Watsons have become ashamed of their rowdy first son, who they hadn’t even asked for. Recently, the Watsons have discovered that Dinah, their youngest daughter, is magical like her brother.
