Personality:
Since the day she was born, Emalyn's parents stressed to her that since she is a Pure Blood, with a family whose influence and purity stretched throughout the generations, and thus, she is important. Much of her personality around other people has been impacted by this, and as she got older, she became a strong, proud individual. However, she tends to take that family pride a bit too far, coming off as arrogant and snobbish to many. A Muggle Born or a Half Blood is worthless, completely beneath her and not worth a second glance, as her parents always taught her. Like many other Slytherin members, she has a bit of a sneaky streak. She has a biting wit that can tear a person to shreds.
However, she does have her redeeming qualities. She is determined and quick-thinking in times of crisis. She is a sparkling personality--she knows she is special, and her confidence draws people in. She is good at getting her way, knowing how to charm teachers and adults. She may be hard to handle at first, but once you get used to her, you realize that while she has her faults and failings, she is a good person, and will stick with you until the bitter end.
History:
Emalyn Terrymouth was born an entitled child. Her father has a high position at Gringotts Bank, which he got through his many connections from school. Her mother did not have to work--she easily could have gotten a job, but she preferred to spend her days at home, doing nothing. However, as Emy learned as she got older, this did not mean that she would get attention from her mother. In fact, she was shown that because her mother was important, and her father was rich, her mother really could do whatever she wanted. Thus, Emy spent most of her time with her governess, who served as her tutor as well. From an early age, Emalyn was exposed to magic, learning that it was the cause of everything her family had. Because of their magic, and their pure, magical blood, of course, they lived successful, "happy" lives.
Emy never really questioned this way of thinking when she was little, and due to the fact that she did not go to muggle school (it was beneath her), she never had other kids to take her down a notch. Her entire childhood she was pampered, and she developed a large ego that her family encouraged. She was used to new clothing, new magical goods, and pretty much anything else she could want. Nothing went wrong, and no one could dare tell her she was wrong, because she was a Terrymouth.
When she went to Hogwarts, though, she realized this was not the case. Yes, she was special, but so were other people there. She had trouble making friends her first year, and she thought there was something wrong with the other students. As she got older, she learned her away around, developed a group of lackeys, and learned to charm her way out of trouble. Although her arrogant nature has never quite disappeared, she is starting to doubt her parents' views of the world.

Random Fact: When she was a little girl, she stumbled across a muggle math book. She did not know what it was, and she started to read. When her parents caught her, they were livid, and she was sent to her room, for the first and only time in her life.
