The Older I Get, Will I Get Over It?

It had been a few years since Lyssa had been chucked into Azkaban, and life had just about gone back to norma. Or as normal as it would ever be. Cassie had passed her Newts with considerably good grades (she had missed a lot of school in her seventh year), as she'd dropped all the classes she failed at after the owls. With a yawn Cassie poured herself a glass of milk, although she was semi tired she had never been one for coffee. Finding the taste odd. She glanced at the clock on the wall, which showed her she still had half an hour until she had to leave. Which gave her enough time to get ready. She had gotten the Profession she'd wanted, she was studying to become a healer. While also studying a few Muggle subjects on the side, just in case sometime in the future she wanted to try a Muggle profession. She knew she was at a slight disadvantage as she had never been schooled in a muggle high school. Though she sometimes wished that she had, because then she wouldn't have had to go through all that Voldemort rubbish and seventh year. Which was all just bleh.

Finishing off her breakfast, Cassie put the dishes into the dishwasher. Although cleaning by magic was easier Cassie didn't use magic except for when she had to. Hearing the door bell ring, she frowned, wondering who it was. And was mildly surprised to open it to find her old Transfiguration Professor at the door. While the two had conversed slightly since Cassie had left, it just seemed a little odd.

"Professor," Cassie said opening the door. She glanced down at herself noticing that she was still in her pajamas but shrugged it off. "Miss Evans, get dressed-" "Where are we going?" Cassie asked without giving McGonagall time to finish her sentence. "Azkaban," "Why?" Cassie asked slightly startled, as that was not what she expected. "The ministry issued the realease for Miss Malfoy today and we are going to go pick her up."

Cassie blinked a few times. Shocked. But at the same time gleeful. She had missed her best freind in the past years. Though while she spent a lot of time around her primary school best freind she missed Lyssa an awful lot. The two had been inseperable before seventh year and all that stuff...

"I'll be a minute." Cassie said shutting the door and heading off to her bedroom. Ten minutes later both she and McGonagall were at the Ministry and soon after they were at Askaba. Cassie shivered, Azkaban always made her feel depleted. The air around the place was just so dark and gloomy, bringing the sense of death and darkness. She shivered around and strolled through the place, ignoring the various other prisinors.

"Hey," Cassie said softly to Lyssa once she got to her cell. Looking at Lyssa made Cassie want to punch something. Preferably a member of the ministry. She just looked so lifeless. "Guess what," Cassie said sitting down on the floor, which was not comfortable in any means.

Lyssa looked up from the floor, where her eyes had been trained the last however long, when she heard Cassie. The blonde returned the hey and then frowned. "I'm not guessing," she said, voice quiet, as if talking in a normal tone would disrupt something. "And don't say you won't say until I guess, because we'll never get anywhere that way."

Cassie sighed slightly at Lyssa, she ran a hand through her hair looking at her freind. Trying to ignore the gloomy feeling that being near Azkaban always gave her, she did not like that feeling. Though she was glad that the dementors were no longer there as that would not have made it any more pleasant. "Well," Cassie said. "I was talking to McGonagall earlier and then to some ministry staff on the way here and they said that you are free to leave."

Lyssa looked at Cassie for a moment, blinking a couple of time. She wasn't completely positive that she'd heard the other girl correctly. And if she had, then her ears didn't want to believe it was true. "You're not joking, are you?" she asked. She had to so she could allow herself to believe the words.

Cassie shook her head. "I'm not joking Lyssa." She would never joke about a thing like that. As that would have just been cruel.

Lyssa looked at Cassie a moment longer, completely sure that the girl wasn't joking about this, because that was out of character for her to be so mean. She tucked a strand of hair back from her face. "Well, then," she said, "since we've established you're not lying to me, why the hell are we sitting here?"

"No idea," Cassie said standing up and brushing herself off. She held the door open for Lyssa to walk through.

Lyssa got up, feeling slightly shaky from both the emotions coursing through her veins and because she hadn't done too much physically the last few years and wasn't exactly at full strength at the moment. As she walked through the door, she found herself giving the first true smile she'd had since....she didn't even know when anymore. This was really real and it was...amazing.

Cassie shivered again as they walked through Askaban, she really did not like that place. it caused the hair on her neck to stick up. They got to the edge where McGonagall and a few Ministry escortee's were waiting. Some time later they were back at the ministry.

Lyssa's shoulders unconsciously bunched up as they tried to make her look smaller, or rather smaller than she already was. She was feeling very self-conscious of what she was currently wearing and would rather enjoy getting changed to something else, but as the group was just arriving at the Ministry that was not an option at the moment, she was sure.

The ministry was adament in not giving Lyssa her wand back. Cassie frowned at this, she was not in the mood to argue over this atter but she supposed she had to.

Lyssa frowned at the Ministry people. They were an annoying lot, they were. And she did quite want her wand. It was part of her. But she didn't say a word lest she upset them and make them change their minds on letting her free.

Cassie narrowed her eyes. An arguement ensued over the subject at hand. Which ended with the ministry refusing to give her a wand and stating that her old one had been snapped in half and lost and if they did not get off of the preimses they would be escorted out.

Lyssa felt something odd within her upon learning her old and original wand was no more. But she still stayed quiet. Then she, Cassie, and McGonagall walked to a secluded point in an alley outside of the Ministry, since Lyssa would ge odd looks otherwise. They had to Apparate over to Cassie's anyway and that would be bad for a Muggle to spot.

Cassie side along apperated Lyssa to her house. McGonagall came with, though she wasn't going to stay long. Cassie opened the door and let everyone in. After shutting it, she made her way to her room. Found some clothing for Lyssa and passed it to her. "Here, and the showers down the hall if you want to use it."

Lyssa took the clothes, and with a small smile and a nod she walked off down the hall to shower. Once that was over and done with, Lyssa put on the clothes Cassie had handed her, making a face at how small and frail and very pale she looked in the bathroom mirror.

McGongall didn't stay very long and was gone before Lyssa had finished showering. "Want anything to eat?" Cassie asked glancing up at Lyssa entered the room.

Lyssa nodded at Cassie, sitting in one of the chairs in the room.

Cassie set about making a sandwich for both her and Lyssa, sure it wasn't the best food in the world. But Cassie needed to go shopping and really all she had was ingredients to make sandwiches. She passed Lyssa hers, munching into the edge of her own sandwich.

Lyssa took her snadwich and took a bite of it. Then she started to slowly eat in, looking around every once in a while. She found that it was nice, having something new to look at for once. Then she just ended up looking at the table.

Cassie put her plate into the dishwasher and wiped the crumbs off the bench and onto the floor. Which wasn't the most effient cleaning in the world but meh.

Lyssa was around halfway done with her sandwich when Cassie finished up her's. She took a small bite of one of the corners, looking at the other girl. She sort of wanted to talk, about anything, but she couldn't think of anything to say. After all, she'd spent the majority of the last two and some years silent.

Cassie sat back down on the chair she had been sitting on. She wasn't that sure what to say, though she could tell that Lyssa wanted some sort of conversation.

It was quiet for a little longer until Lyssa said, in the same quiet tone she'd been using, "Can you call Draco over? I think he'd like to know I'm here, after all..."

"Do you want me to tell him your here or do you want to surprise the hell out of him?" Cassie Asked.
