[New RP] Lives we never expected to alter. Draco&Cira

It's all about reputation.

Thats what it has always been about, really. I think I would know, being the blood descendant of Salazar Slytherin gives a person quite the reputation. Being respected is almost the only thing that is wanted by important families, except the hungriness for power often wills its way into the hearts of my family.

Back to reputation. I could see that I had gained quite the one, from the wistful looks I have gained from Slytherin boys (and a few Ravenclaws, perhaps?) and ice cold glares shot from the eyes of generally every female st Hogwarts who even has an inkling of who I am. Which, almost everyone does. I hope. Not to sound conceded, of course.

Now, as I lay on the window opening that separates the walkway to the grassy area at Hogwarts, I became immersed in my thoughts, all but oblivious to the students that surrounded me.

The walkway that led out onto the grounds was particularly crowded, today, and I couldn't count how many twitchy little Hufflepuffs I'd had to sneer at just to ensure enough space for my cronies and I as we walked. The topic of the moment was whether kicking out all of the Mudbloods would give more space for the worthy students of Hogwarts.

"...and they would obviously stop teaching that embarrassment of a class, Muggle Studies," Blaise spat from beside me, with a look of contempt in his eyes. He was probably the only one who rivaled me in my disgust for the way this school was run. The others were either too stupid or too blind to really understand the filth that was allowed to walk our halls.

"I think that you should have to prove your bloodline just to get in," I uttered, remembering a conversation that I'd had with Father on the topic. We turned a corner and came into a much less crowded part of the walkway, our ranks easing a little as we were able to spread out. "Unless, of course, you're from an established line like the Blacks or the Malfoys." Someone sitting in the window ledges caught my eye and I smirked, feeling like getting up to some trouble. "Or like Slytherin," I said, loud enough for the girl to hear me.

I glanced up, hearing "like Slytherin" being uttered from a males voice. I looked around for a split second before noticing Draco Malfoy standing off to the side, staring at me with his trademark smug grin plastered on his pale face.

"Oh, It's you, Malfoy." I said, stifling a yawn. I noticed his usual groupies standing beside him, including that Pansy girl. I've never liked her that much, she seemed too clingy. I nodded to the other wizards, speaking my greetings. "Crabbe, Goyle, Blaise." I said simply, my eyes quickly flickering to their faces. I was otherwise still, not moving from my place that I had perched on.

Pansy huffed a little to my left at the absence of her name in the greeting. The left side of my mouth tipped up the slightest bit higher at her indignance; she always took social slights personally. Crabbe and Goyle nodded mutely back at Slytherin, while Blaise tipped a wink at her.

"Of course it's me, Slytherin. To anyone else you'd be simply unapproachable. You're quite the intimidating little witch." I made sure that my sentence not only indicated a respect for her, but also a clear statement that it didn't really affect me. "Looking down on us like some sort of fairy-tale princess. Are you trying to be anti-social?" I knew that my eyes were smiling now, too, giving away the fact that I was joking, but it wouldn't hurt. People were usually much too distracted by the fact that they were to talking to the Draco Malfoy to notice any slips I might make.

I resisted laughing at Blaise's attempt at flirting with me, instead fluttering my fingers at him in turn from his wink, I lifted my attention to Draco. I smirked at him, trying not to roll my eyes.

"Fairy-tale princess? Honestly, Malfoy?" I rolled my eyes anyway, crossing my legs. "And, please. Anti-social? They're the ones who aren't speaking to me. All I'm doing is sitting here, innocent, a fair maiden. " Putting my hand flat against my chest, I straightened my back, dramatically posing for a moment before returning to my usual stance.

I felt Blaise's contentment with being recognized and withheld my disgust. It wasn't so bad that he was flirting with Slytherin; it was just that he had managed to hit on pretty much every girl in school that was more than 12. He was infamous in our group for having a thing for the Weaselette, despite her blood traitor family.

"Innocent?" I asked, feeling my left eyebrow creep up my face slowly. "Sure, I'll buy that one. I bet next you're going to tell me that if they did talk to you, you'd actually be kind to them." The thought was more amusing than I'd imagined, and I let out a small chuckle against my will. It was a given that Slytherins of notice never gave the time of day to the little people; it was simply in our nature.

I snorted, gracefully slipping down from the window to slide over slightly to the group.

"Don't get your hopes up." I muttered, Draco's laugh making its way into my ears. I crossed my arms, pursing my lips. "Actually, I just love sucking up to every student and teacher in the school. It gets me big points with Dumbledore." I said a tad louder, wrinkling my nose a tad.

Confused looks crossed Crabbe and Goyle's faces, and I felt a sharp pang of disgust. Despite being in the house of the cunning, the sarcasm had managed to go right over their thick heads. "Ooh, Dumbledore points," I said, playing along, "those will sure help you in life. Too bad he rarely gives then out to anyone who isn't a scarhead or a Mudblood."

I flicked my hair over my shoulder before putting on a pout, widening my eyes.

"Dumbledore? Only giving points to the scum of the school? Oh dear, how could he." I shook my head sadly, placing my hands on my hips. I had noticed Crabbe and Goyles confusion, and it took all of my will not to sneer in disgust from it. Sometimes, I don't even know how they got into Slytherin. Sure, their parents are Death Eaters, and yes, that may contribute to them being placed in the most powerful house in Hogwarts (my opinion, at least), but whats inside them is what counts. Are they destined to become Death Eaters? So far, it seemed as if that is a no. The Dark Lord would never allow them to serve him. I almost felt ashamed for them to be in the same house my ancestor created with dark intentions.

Shaking my head at our droll theatrics, I panned a hand across our group as a segway. "We were just talking about how nice and roomy it would be if only real witches and wizards were allowed to attend Hogwarts. What do you think?" I ignored Pansy's pressure on my elbow and constant flickering glances that told me she didn't want me speaking to Cira Slytherin. There's just something about Pureblood women; always so possessive. In one smooth movement I crossed my arms over my chest, evading Pansy's tugs and relaxing a little from the arrogant posture I usually maintained.

Resisting smiling at Draco shaking his head at me, I raised an eyebrow at Pansy's attempt in getting Draco's attention (which, it seemed, had failed, much to my amusement. ), I process what Draco had said and smirked.

"Half the school would be gone if they did that, Malfoy. You are correct, it would be roomy. Though, Slytherin house would mostly still be full of only real witches and wizards," I glanced toward Pansy that was completely unnoticed but by her," But, thats for the best." A shout from a tad down the hall got my attention. I turned, and groaned a little inside when I saw who it was.

"Cira!" Branston called, a wide grin spreading across his face. Catching up to where I was standing, he sent a look toward Draco, seemingly unpleased at the sight of him.

"Hello." I grinned up at him, annoyance spiking up inside me, unnoticed by him.

I inwardly cringed at the sight of Branston, quite possibly one of the least useful people in Slytherin. Sure, he was Pure, so I couldn't do a damn thing about him being around, but that didn't mean I had to like having such a useless sycophant running about in my house. Seeing that he wasn't too pleased about my presence either, I decided to greet him just to spite him. "Hello, Branston," I said simply, not sure what else I'd have to say to the boy, but hoping he'd be annoyed with me anyway.

Branston looked slightly horrified that Draco spoke to him, but he quickly hid the emotion, instead placing his arm around my shoulder. I resisted shoving him away.

"Malfoy." He replied just as hostile, and I could feel his arm tightening around me. A scowl formed itself on my face, and it was obvious that Branston thought I was scowling at Dracos presence. A tiny smile had taken place on his face, and I rolled my eyes.

I resisted rolling my eyes at the display of possession that Branston put on. It clearly made Cira uncomfortable, and I gathered that she was disgusted with him as I was. "Is that insolence I detect?" I asked neutrally, with a feigned look of confusion. "Or do you just not know to speak to your superiors?" Blaise snickered and Pansy's high, barking laugh followed it, ringing in my eardrums like the worst of annoyance.

I winced at Pansy's laugh, yet it seemed to be unnoticed by her. Quickly composing myself once more, I raised an eyebrow at the two Slytherin males having a stare down.

"Obviously, Malfoy, you don't, either." Branston replied, and I resisted laughing out loud. Pulling out from under Branstons arms as if it was an accident, I turned to Blaise and smiled.

"So, Blaise..."

I pulled a tight sneer at Branston, wondering how he dared to speak to me like that, but then the other things going on around me caught my eye. Cira had slipped free of the insolent little snake beside her and shifted her attention to Blaise, who had a smirk a mile wide.

"Yeah, Slytherin?" he asked, cocking his head to one side with the ease that only we purebloods could muster. Blaise was smooth, alright, but he didn't intimidate nearly as much as me.

Cira put a slight pout on her face before replying.

"How come you never sit with me anymore?" She cocked her head to the side in an attempt to look innocent (if that was even possible.) Out of the corner of her eye she could see Draco sending daggers through Branston with his eyes. She understood why, if Branston had spoken to her like that, she probably would have hexed him in his sleep.
