And so they started to try and undo the memory modification charms, which wasn't holding much luck.

All the while, Lyssa wasn't exactly helping them out any, since she didn't see their need to even try and change her. She rather liked how she was. Stupid little things didn't bother her any and she almost never felt anything other than content. Why change that?

Cassie was frustrated. Both at the order, and at Lyssa. The order for not fixing Lyssa yet. And Lyssa for not helping them fix her. She slumped down in a chair, frustrated. Wondering how long it would last.

Lyssa was wandering around, quite freely were it not for the tracking spell that had earlier been placed on her, when she stumbled across Cassie. "Are you really that put out that I don't remember you?" she asked, jumping straight to things.

Cassie looked up at Lyssa. "Yes," She said. "I am. A lot."

"Oh..." Lyssa muttered. "But, I don't get why. I haven't...I don't....Why?"

"Cause you were my best friend? I've known you since I was eleven and we've been.. practicably inseparable since then. And you don't remember a thing about me."

"Oh..." Lyssa muttered. "You'd think I'd remember you then. I have up until I'm somewhat 11, according to the Order. And that's when it all changes."

Cassie sighed. "They would have modified your memory at eleven wouldn't they?" She said with a frown. "Perfect place to modify it really."

"I'm really sorry," Lyssa said. "At least they failed in their attempt to make me heartless..."

Cassie glanced at her and shrugged, staring for a moment before she stood up. She didn't like being around this Lyssa, it felt different, because she didn't feel as if she knew her anymore. Which she didn't. She sighed, running a hand through her hair and heading out of the room.

Lyssa frowned and looked down at her feet, feeling quite bad. She just didn't get why she had to change from someone she knew to please everyone. She was happy as she was and she figured they should be too, and to try and get to know this her.

Sometime passed, and still not much had happened with trying to get Lyssa to remember the memories that had been surpressed.

Then one day, when Lyssa finally got the Order members to bug off and leave her alone, she went looking for Cassie, intentionally for once. "Cass!" she said upon seeing the girl. She hadn't called her Cass since her memory had been messed with.

Cassie turned around hearing her name, well, hearing her nickname, well actually the nickname of her nickname but that's beside the point. It took her a few moments to realise she was being called Cass which she hadn't been called since before Lyssa's memory had modified. "Lyssa?" Cassie replied.

Lyssa stopped in front of her, out of breath from rushing around. "First year, on the train. Draco came in the compartment and was a totally prat and said that you might as well have been a muggle for having muggle blood in you at all."

Cassie blinked. She could remember that scene very well, being the first time that Cassie had ever met Draco. She stared at Lyssa for a few more moments, mouth open. "You-" She said. 'You, you remember that?"

Lyssa nodded. "Just today...when they were working on it again...but that's really all."

"That was the first time we'd met. So, maybe things will slowly come back in order?" Cassie thought aloud. Smiling slightly at the thought.

"Maybe..." Lyssa muttered. "I'm just glad to have something, so that maybe you'll stop avoiding me...It hurts, ya know. I can't explain why yet, but it does."

"Sorry," Cassie said looking at her feet. "It's just, painful being around you when you remember nothing."

"I can imagine...but what if being around you helped me? Can't very well find out with you always rushing off."

Cassie shrugged at her. "I dunno," She said.

"Please?" Lyssa whispered.
