To make it alone or keep a straight face.

"Math," Aiden answered automatically. And really, it was his favorite muggle class.

"Really? What kind of things do you learn in muggle math? It is kind of like arithmancy, here, right?"

"Well, I was in Calculus before coming here....And we did things with x and all that."


(I dun have Calculus this year Stupid schedule. So, I don't know what they do in there.)

(In calculus we do limits and derivatives and integrals and stuffs *hugs* Stupid schedule )

"It sounds... interesting. What does X have to do with anything?"

"It's just where a number is missing and you fill it in."

(That does not sounds fun o.o *hugs*)

"Well, why don't they just use the number? It seems really silly to start throwing in letters as well."

(Oh, but it is! *hugs*)

Aiden shrugged. "I dunno."

"What other classes do they have at SAS?"

"Well, there are more Muggle ones like history and the arts and whatnot, plus your typical magical ones," Aiden explained, wondering how much longer they would be standing around.

Aaron saw Aiden start to get a bit antsy, and he decided it was time to move on.
"Okay. How about we go to the dorms, so you can get a bit settled in. I'm sure you have jet lag--we're six hours later here, which has to be a bit disorienting."

Aiden nodded. He wasn't so tired, he was just annoyed that he was standing still for so long. It was something he'd picked up from- Crap, he couldn't think about that. He'd just start crying again. Merlin, being away from him for so long was just going to tear Ai apart.

A brief glimpse of pain flashed across Ai's face, and Aaron turned away, letting him have his private moment. He walked towards the boys' dorms, watching Ai out of the corner of his eye. once the sadness faded, Aaron started giving a brief tour on the way. He didn't say anything too groundbreaking. It was just something to distract Ai.

Aiden only half listened to Aaron as he spoke about this or that, not really caring either way. He'd have plenty of time to acquaint himself with the place on his own after all. And if he were to be late to everything with the excuse of getting lost then he'd be spending less time with the people than he already wanted to, which was just a plus.

Aaron noticed Ai tune out, but he did not bother himself much with it. He just continued on, leading to the dorms.

"Okay, here we are. Home sweet home--at least, here in Britain."

Aiden at least attempt to smile at that bit, but the majority of himself refused to allow that. Apparently him subconscious planned to keep him miserable the whole time.

Aaron raised an eyebrow. "Chin up, kid. Er... Ai. If you're going to be stuck here, you might as well get to it." Aaron's words may have sounded harsh, but his tone was the exact opposite--sympathetic, understanding. He knew what it was like to miss someone so much it hurt. So much that it meant being away from them was so miserable it felt wrong to be happy at all.

"I know you don't want to hear it, but things WILL get better. Trust me. I know." He showed Ai to his dorm and eased away, a ghost among the crowd.

Aiden just sort of shrugged the words off. He knew he'd come to figure that out on his own in time, but for now, for Merlin's sake, he wanted to be miserable.

Aaron walked away from the dorm, giving Ai some time to be by himself. If he wanted to wallow, he should be able to. It was his first day here, and everyone needed some buffer time. That included the new, confused, shy, and very attractive male student sitting in his dorm.

Aaron would have an awful lot of trouble giving him much buffer time.

So, Ai sat around and allowed himself to feel rightly miserable for a while before a thought struck him. If he were Dodge then he probably wouldn't be sitting around feeling sorry for himself. He'd be out making the school his own while he was there. So, with a renewed vigor, Aiden Hartland got ready to face Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

It was starting to get late. Aaron decided to head back to the dorm for the night--soon, he would be out of hours, and that would be bad. However, he took his time. The teachers tended to be lenient towards Aaron. Snape was just starting his rounds when Aaron finally walked into his dorm room, precisely five minutes late. He walked over to check on Ai.

"How you doing there?"

Aiden look up from a book he'd pulled from his things that he had been reading. "Better than I was," he answered. As he talked a subtle scent of cinnamon wafted through the air, as he'd pulled out his trusty cinnamon gum to remind him of home.

"Cinnamon," Aaron noted offhandedly. "I love the smell of cinnamon. I'm glad you're doing better, though. I don't mean to be mean, but you seemed a right mess." "a rather attractive mess," Aaron added mentally, not bothering to say it out loud. "Well, not a mess. Understandably upset is probably a better term for it. Either way, though, I'm glad things are looking up a bit. With some sleep in you, they'll be looking even better."

"Cinnamon is my second favorite thing in the world," Aiden said, not really thinking about it before he said it. It was true anyway. "And I figure if I'm stuck here I might as well make the best of it. That's what Dodge would do."

Dodge. So that was the name of the infamous lover back in America that Ai was pining over. Clearly, he and Ai were quite a bit different. Ai seemed to be waifish, shy, unsure. He had moments of blinding clarity, but he was generally blurry, almost afraid to assert himself. Something about him screamed innocence, yet Aaron detected a hint of something mischievous below that.

He liked what he saw.

"What is Dodge like?"

Aiden looked almost startled at the question. "He..." he started, but stopped, not entirely sure how to go about this without going off on a weird tangent or sounding lovestruck or something. "He's funny, and loud, and energetic. And he honestly knows how to get under my skin more than anyone has ever been able to."
