My worst mistake was giving you a second chance.

Lyssa rolled her eyes at the girl. "If you must know, it's to your mother."

"What?" Cassie asked, blinking. "Why?! Why are you writing to my mother?" She struggled in the chair. "What did you write to her?!"

"That's for me to know, and you to never find out."

Cassie scowled at her. "What. are. you. writing. to. my. mother?" She asked her with narrowed eyes.

Lyssa shrugged, moving to leave the room to mail the letter.

"Don't shrug at me!" Cassie exclaimed. "Tell me what you are telling my mum!" She pulled on her bindings again, scowling at them. It infuriated her that she couldn't move.

Lyssa stopped in the doorway. "I don't have to tell you anything." Then she walked out to send the letter.

Cassie swore at her as she left the room. Wondering what on earth she had written to her mother. "And let me out of this blastard chair!" She yelled after her, pulling on it again nearly causing the chair to tip over.

Lyssa ignored the shouting, heading up another set of stairs to get to the owlery her family had for their owls.

Cassie scowled and slumped in the chair, being stuck in the chair was driving her mad. She couldn't stand not being able to move around. And she really needed to stretch.

Lyssa sent off the owl with the letter and made her way back down to her study.

Cassie gave her a filthy look when she reentered the study.

"Aren't you a bucket of sunshine."

Cassie scowled at her. "Well what do you expect? I'm stuck in a bleeding chair. It isn't exactly the most comfortable thing in the world. And I tend to like moving around. You also just sent a letter to my mother, which you're refusing to tell me about. No wonder my mood is fantastic."

With a casual flick of her wand, Lyssa freed Cassie from the chair, but at the very same time created an invisible barrier of space that Cass couldn't get out of. "Are you going to stop whining now?"

"No," Cassie muttered standing up. Too relieved at being able to actually move she stood up too quickly, causing everything to spin. She stumbled banging into the barrier that was surrounding her. "Well," She muttered screwing her face up, and carefully pulling herself up with the chair. "That was classy."

"There is no pleasing you," Lyssa said casually. "I could make it smaller?"

Cassie narrowed her eyes. "I'm fine," She said stretching.

"Okay"

Cassie leaned back against the invisible barrier, watching Lyssa warily, along with a look of hurt.

"What now?"

"Nothing," Cassie snapped crossing her arms over her chest.

"Liar."

Cassie rolled her eyes. "Well obviously."
