am I another casualty in the battle your fighting

Darcie knew she had left the library a little late, there wasn't much time before curfew, she guessed about ten minutes. It had been around that when she had left the library. And the only reason she had left the library was because the librarian had come over and kicked her out. Darcie liked the library, it was quiet and not many people went there. And those that did weren't usually loud. It gave her a place to retreat to, added to the fact that she adored reading. But she had left a little two late. She rubbed her shoulder as she walked, reached the end of the corridor and stopping for a moment when she saw Bianca Moore, the only way that she could get to her common room from here was forwards, unless she backtracked, and then she would end up back after curfew. Deciding that being late was better then bumping into her, she turned around and headed back the way she came. Hoping that she hadn't been noticed. She had to force herself not to glance over her shoulder to see if she had been noticed.

Bianca was torturing some poor Gryffindor mudblood. She had never met him before, but word on the street was that he was one of the worst kinds of wizards--the kind who were of unclean blood and proud of it. He had told people he was a muggleborn, which was the most idiotic thing she had ever heard. So, he deserved a bit of time under crucio--maybe she could knock some sense into him, although she could not knock good blood into him.

However, she heard a noise behind her while she worked. She peeked over her shoulder, getting bored of the terrified whimpers of the mudblood, and saw some random Hufflepuff. Bianca did not remember seeing her in Riddle's circle, since Hufflepuffs were usually dunderheads. Maybe she was worth investigating.

"Oi. Hufflepuff. What are you doing around here?"

Darcie jumped, she hadn't said her name but it was obvious she was referring to her. As she was pretty sure that she was the only Hufflepuff around. Darcie contemplated just running off, but she wasn't a very good runner and she had a bag with all of her school books in it, and it was pretty likely she'd get hit by something before she made it properly around the corner. "Walking.." Darcie said quietly, wrapping her arms protectively around her stomach, not that it was very protective. Her eyes flickered to the Gryffindor kid lying on the floor, twitching and whimpering.

"Walking, eh? Well, I wonder if you have the right to be walking around in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Who are your parents, kid?" As she spoke, she moved closer and closer to the Gryffindor mudblood on the ground. "If you don't answer, you'll just end up like this kid over here, so I would suggest you give it to me straight."

Darcie's eyes flickered terrified from her to the Gryffindor on the ground. "I," She said starting to feel rather bleck in the stomach. "They're," She stumbled over the word. "They're dead." She said hoping that she would just let it drop at that, but Darcie was almost a hundred percent sure that she wouldn't. Her eyes flickered towards the Gryffindor, and she felt even worse in the stomach. It wasn't her fault she was here, she probably wouldn't have come if her parents had never died.

Bianca walked up to the girl. She was a wuss, that one--she never looked her in the eyes. She was probably lying. "Oi, look up." She put her hand on the other girl's face, lifting up her head so her eyes were forced to look into Bianca's. "Now, you tell me the truth. What's your name, age, and blood status? And what are your parents' names, because I don't believe for a second that they ain't still living."

Darcie flinched from Bianca's hand, but she couldn't stop her from lifting her head up so she was looking straight at Bianca's eyes. "They," She said trying to stop from stumbling over her words again. "They are dead. Car crash." Her body shook slightly and she knew that she had to answer the other questions because otherwise there would be hell to pay. "Darcie Andrews," She said. "Seventeen." She stopped for a moment, knowing that saying her blood status wasn't going to help her any, but she couldn't lie. For two reasons, one, the fact that she was horrible at lying in the first place. And two, if Bianca found out she had been lying. "M-," She shut her eyes, annoyed at herself for not even being able to say what she had to say without stuffing it up. She opened her eyes. "Muggleborn."

Ahhh. A muggleborn. "So your parents are dead, are they? In a car crash. Now, you see, I find that awfully convenient, don't you? Even if it is true, it doesn't matter. Just a few muggles gone from the world. A blessing in disguise. Are you sure you really should be here, though? I mean, if your parents were both muggles," Bianca pulled out her wand and pressed it to Darcie's throat, "how do we know that you are really a witch or wizard?"

Darcie shook, eyeing the wand pressed against her throat, she could feel its tip in her throat. She closed her eyes, wishing that she could do something other then just stand there. But she'd had the fight kicked out of her years ago. She wanted to say something about the fact of Bianca saying that it was good that her parents were dead, she wanted to rebuke that. But she couldn't, too terrified of the wand that was pressing against her throat."I-uh-e-I," She stumbled, having no idea what to reply to Bianca, she didn't really have an answer for that. She squeezed her eyes shut, even tighter. "I, I,can do magic." She said, however horrible she was at it didn't hide the fact that she could. She put down her history with magic to be the reason that she was so horrible at it.

Bianca grinned, seeing the fear in Darcie's eyes. "Oh, really? You can do magic, can you? How about some proof, then. I have never seen you do magic before. Why don't you give a little... exhibition for me? I'll decide your future based off of that."

Darcie looked at her, still shaking horribly. "O-okay," She said pulling her wand out of her robes, wincing when her shaking hand caused her to drop it. She screwed her eyes shut again, opening them to bob down and pick her wand back up. She glanced at Bianca and dropped her bookbag onto the ground. She pointed her wand at it, holding her wand with two hands trying to keep it steady. "W-Wingardium Leviosa," The books shook slightly but did nothing. Darcie groaned softly. Trying again. Come on She thought in desperation. The bag rose about a foot into the air before it dropped, hiting the ground with a smash which probably meant that Darcie's ink bottles had smashed all over her books.

Bianca smirked. "You can do magic, eh? Doesn't look like it. Are you sure you didn't lift that up with your wand, instead of with your magic? You don't seem to have much ability in the way of magic. I think you are lying."

Darcie held her wand loosely by her side, looking at Bianca's smirking face. "I," She said trying to slow down what she was saying to stop from stuttering. "I can, I just, not, well, and not, not under pressure." She swallowed, taking in a large breath, trying to calm herself down. Her eyes flickered from Bianca's wand, back to her face.

"Oh really?" Bianca said. She leaned her face in close to meet Darcie's. "I don't believe you can at ALL. I think that you are one to watch, young MUGGLE. Or mudblood? Which one, which one?" Bianca took a step back, holding her wand tip to her chin in thought. "Hmmm. Now, what should the punishment be for such a complete magical failure?"

Darcie shut her eyes and turned her head away when Bianca moved closer to her, tentativly looking at her as she took a step back. Darcie opened her mouth to say something both against Bianca calling her a muggle and a mudblood but she couldn't find her voice, so she shut it. Which was probably the smarter option anyway. She attempted to back up, but only ended up against a wall.

"Now, let's see... lying about being a muggle. Failure to exhibit proper magic. Stealing wands from proper wizards and witches. Sneaking into Hogwarts. Talking to me as if you were my equal... I think you deserve a good old-fashioned crucio, don't you think? It will be fun! I do love crucio, you know. Vastly underrated, it is."

Darcie's eyes widened and she shook her head franticly from side to side, fast enough to make her feel a tiny bit dizzy. "No," She said her voice so quiet that even she could hardly hear it. "No," She repeated trying to back up further which didn't exactly work as she was already pressed against the wall. Although it wouldn't do much Darcie lifted her arms up, across her face somewhat protectively.

"Aweeee," Bianca crooned. "Is poor baby mudblood going to cry? Well, sweetie, there's nothing you can do to protect yourself now. It's your own fault this is happening. I'm just giving you what you're already due." With that, she proudly uttered the word, "Crucio" and pointed her wand at Darcie.

Darcie continued to shake her head, it wasn't her fault she thought bitterly, it wasn't her fault that she was muggleborn, and that her magic skills were lacking. It was things like this happening that was the cause of her failing skills at magic. Because she was too petrified of it, to be able to be confident using it. She made a noise like a squashed bird when the spell hit her, screwing her eyes shut tightly. And continued to make a noise between a scream and a groan as she slid down the wall and onto the floor, her body shaking and twitching.

"Scream, mudblood," Bianca said, pumped with adrenaline and ecstasy watching the girl fall to the floor, twitching. She pushed harder with the spell, not wanting to drive the girl insane, but wanting her to feel pure pain and misery. "I want to hear you scream."

Darcie whimpered, she just wanted to be left alone, it wasn't her fault. She didn't want to be here. She'd came here to be left alone. She just wanted to be alone. "Ow," She squealed the pain becoming too much. "Leave me alone," She sobbed and then screamed as the force of the spell got pushed up, creating more pain. It surprised here that no-one else could hear, no-one else in the corridors out of hours, or the teachers either could hear. And didn't come running around the corner.

Bianca noticed Darcie trying to look around for help and laughed shrilly. "Oh, honey, you did not think people would actually help a worthless mudblood like you, did you? No, you're on your own, sugar. All on your lonesome with big bad me."

Darcie continued to whimper, pulling her knees up into her chest and wrapping her arms around them. Her head pressed was pressed against her knees as her body continued to shake and twitch uncontrollably from the spell. She screamed again, muffled slightly by her knee. Someone had to come if they heard, wouldn't they? They'd have to. But no-one was going to be around out of hours. The teachers might...she thought feebly. "Leave me alone," She cried feebly before yelling out again. "Please."

Bianca yawned. "You're rather boring to torture, kid. You're too hopeful. Although, when no one comes in the end, that'll just make things all the more fun." She took a break from crucioing to allow Darcie to recover slightly. That way, when she continued to crucio her more, it would be that more shocking and painful. What fun!

Darice stared at her knees, trying to stop her shaking body and panting breathing. Although the main lash of the pain was gone, she was still sore and aching allover. Less of a sting now, and more of a very painful throb. She kept her head facing her knees. Not wanting to look up at the smirking face of Bianca. She didn't understand the point, what was the point of torturing classmates? What did it achieve. Other then make them fear you.
