It had been a month since the war, but it was still fairly tense in Cassie's house. Things had mellowed out slightly since when Lyssa and Cassie had made an appearance the day after the war, but it was still obvious that neither Sam nor Henry wanted Lyssa in their house. It was only Cassie's threat of walking out that kept them from trying to get the other girl out again. "What do you want to eat?" Cassie asked Lyssa as she pulled open the door of the fridge pulling the juice out of the fridge and placing it on the bench as she grabbed a few pieces of bread and placed them in the toaster.

Lyssa, who had been resting her head on the table, looked up. "I don't want anything," she said, putting it back down. She hadn't eaten much since getting to the house, and she had no apparent plans to change that.

"You should eat," Cassie said with a frown as she poured herself a drink. "Do you want a drink at least?" She grabbed the butter out of the fridge, took a sip of her drink and then a knife out of the draw. Placing the butter and knife next to the bread board waiting for her toast to pop.

Lyssa shook her head in response without lifting it again, even though she was actually sort of thirsty and should honestly have said yes, but she was in one of her mood where she just wanted to curl and not doing anything that was necessary for the process of living.

Cassie frowned, grabbing another glass regardless and filling it up with water. She placed it on the table next to Lyss and went back into the kitchen as her toast popped. "Drink it," Cassie told her, flinging her toast onto the board.

"I don't want it," Lyssa muttered, voice muffled slightly by the table. "I'm not thirsty, Cass."

"Don't care," Cassie replied buttering her toast. "Drink it." She bit into her toast, grabbing a plate and placing the other peice on it. doing a weird balancing act she continued eating as she carried her toast and glass of juice over to the table.

Lyssa lifted her head and pushed the glass away from her. "I said I don't want it. What part of that did you miss?"

"Lyssa," Cassie replied pulling out a chair. "I don't care if you want it or not. Drink it." She finished her slice of toast, and started on the next one.

"Why?" Lyssa nearly snapped. "Why are you so damn persistent on me drinking the stupid glass of water? I. Don't. Want. It."

"Because you are hardly eating or drinking, and that is really not healthy for you," Cassie replied taking a vicious bite out of her bread.

"I don't care," Lyssa said, resting her head on the crook of her elbow.

Sam was standing in the doorway watching the two girls. "Lyssa," Cassie said in a soft voice. "Please, just drink it. You can't stop eating and drinking, it isn't healthy. Please."

"Cass...I do not want the stupid water. I don't care anymore."

"Yeah, well I do. You need to look after yourself Lyss."

"No."

"Ugh," Cassie exclaimed heading into the kitchen and placing her plate on the bench along with her cup. "Will you just, please, drink the fricken water?"

"I do not fucking want it, Cassandra."

"Don't call me Cassandra," Cassie retorted, opening the pantry door and then shutting it a moment later with more force then was really necessary. "Could you just drink the fricken water? How bloody hard is it?"

"I don't want it!" Lyssa snapped, intentionally knocking it over.

"Ugh," Cassie exclaimed throwing her arms up into the air. "You're so freaking, ugh," She gave Lyssa a frustrated look. "How fucking hard is it to just drink a glass of bloody water?"

"It's extremely hard, Cassie, when all I want to do is just stop!" Lyssa shouted back.

"Oh my gosh," Cassie replied furiously. "Can you, for just, once in your god damn fucking life think about someone that isn't you? Right now, I couldn't care less what you want. I want you healthy, and it would be nice if you'd help me with that instead of fighting me every other step of the way."

Lyssa stood up from the chair she was sitting in and looked directly at Cassie's face. "It's hard to think about anyone else when all I want to do is fall in a hole and die. I cry myself to sleep every night, I have to force what little I do eat and drink down my throat, and you know I do that much for you. But, when you push and you shove at it, I just...."

"You're not the only one whose facing problems Lyssa!" Cassie yelled. "You're not the only one who has had enough. I haven't had a full night's sleep in MONTH'S, since before all of this started, and if I manage to. It's all nightmares." She threw her arms up into the air. "But I'm trying, you NEED to try. You can't just give up. Cause then they've won haven't they? Even if they lost in the long run. You can't just stop living because of what happened. You owe yourself more than that. You owe ME more than that."
