The Fix Is In

"We have identical marks in a lot of our classes," Will pointed out. "And I put in a third of the effort."

"As if! I hardly put in any effort at all. If you were putting in a third of what I put in, you'd never get anything done."

Will shook his head. "Come on, we both know better than that. You're not a workaholic like Renee, but you do put effort into school stuff."

"Hardly."

"Compared to me, yeah."

"Um, no. You've never actually seen me do schoolwork."

"I have too," Will insisted. "Every year around exam time."

"Exams are different!"

"I don't even study for exams," Will pointed out.

"Because you're a moron."

"I always pull off ace grades."

"That doesn't make you not a moron."

"Yes it does. Why work so hard when I'm doing better without it?"

Izzy shrugged. "It's the wonderful rushing feel of a job well done."

"Which I get with zero effort."

"Oh shut up."

Will smiled. "That's what you get for calling me a moron."

"You ARE a moron."

"I am not a moron," Will insisted.

"Whatever helps you sleep at night."

"Yeah, yeah," Will said, rolling his eyes. "I know that imagining that I am less wonderful helps you sleep at night. It's not your fault I'm frustratingly amazing."

"Deflate you ego a little or you're going to float away."

"I am not going to float away. I am firmly on the ground. I'm amazing that way." Will grinned.

"Whatever."

"Thank you, Iz," Will said, rather abruptly.
