Laurie, Nicole, and Sev (3rd POV)

Nicole walked down the stairs of her and her mum's house early one morning, hand rubbing her eyes. She didn't like getting up early, but her mum had something to do for work and she had to go to her aunt Cassie's house for a while.

Lyssa was waiting for her in the living room, her small bag with her toys and things for the day was already there.

"Mum, do I have to go so early?" Nicole complained.

"I know you don't like being up early, but I have to leave soon," her mum replied. "I'll be there later today though, ok? Besides don't you want to see Laurie and Sev again?"

Nicole nodded. She picked up her bag from the floor and asked, "How am I getting there?"

"I'm Apparating you there, and then I have to go."

Nicole scrunched her nose. She hated Apparating. "Fine."

Lyssa smiled at her and then, after Nicole grabbed her arm, Apparated to the house of Cassie Evans.

Cassie walked into the kitchen yawning. The kids were still asleep and she was enjoying the quiet time drinking coffee. She got Monday,s Wednesdays and most weekends off for work which left her at home with the kids alot, othertimes the kids either came with her or she got a babysitter. There was a pop and Lyssa and her daughter Nicole appearated into the kitchen.

"You know." Cassie yawned. "We do have a doorbell." But she smiled then walked over and hugged Nicole. "Severus and Laurie aren't up yet, do you want me to wake them?"

The girl smiled and nodded. "Ok, I will after your mum leaves."

"Mummy!" A voice shouted. Severus was yelling.

"Or I can go get him now." Cassie left the room and came back with four year older Severus in her arms.

Nicole smiled.

"I'll just be off then," Lyssa said. She knelt down to Nicole's height. "Be good."

Then she kissed her forehead and disappeared with a pop.

Nicole turned to Cassie. "Can I go wake up Laurie?"

Cassie smiled and bustled around the kitchen getting Severus something to eat.

"Go ahead Nicole," She smiled again and put Severus down.

"Up." Sev wailed holding his arms up to Cassie. "Up, Up."

Cassie sighed and picked him up.

"You know Sev, it's hard to make breakfast when holding you."

Severus smiled. "I'm hungry mummy."

"I'm making it Sev."

Nicole grinned as she walked to Laurie's room.

She opened the door to see her sleeping, facing away from the door.

Nicole grinned and walked in the room quietly, making sure not to step on anything.

Then when she was close enough to the bed she pounced.

Cassie firmly placed Sev down on his chair and put some cereal in front of him.

"I won't let you play with the girls, if you don't eat that."

"Fine." Severus said stubornly.

Laurie jumped in her bed and looked to see what had woken her, she had been dreaming of playing with Mi her cat when it suddenly turned into a lion and pounced on her.

"Nicole." She complained. "I was sleeping."

Laurie looked around her room. It was neat unlike Sev's. Her toys were away and her books on her shelves. She loved reading and when she started Hogwarts next year she wanted to be a Ravenclaw. Cassie just smiled when Laurie had told her, but Laurie thought that maybe Cassie had been offended. Sev wanted to be a Gryffindor and he said so. Often. He would walk around the house pretending to hex Slytherins with his stick that he said was his wand. It was quite funny really.

"Bonjour sleepyhead," Nicole said as she sat back on the bed.

Then she looked around the room. It was still too clean.

"What happened to making your room messy like a real kid for once?" she asked.

Then just to prove a point Nicole bounced off the bed and upset some stuffed animals arranged neatly on a shelf.

"Cioa," Laurie replied and flopped back onto her pillow.

"Nicole!" She exclaimed when Nicole upset her toys. "I like my room neat, I can find everything."

She got out of bed and tackled her freind to the ground.

Cassie heard thumps from upstairs and sighed. No doubt waking Laurie had not gone well.

"Im going to see whats up." She said to Severus. "And don't feed that to the cat while i'm gone."

Cassie turned and walked out of the kitchen and up the stiars to Laurie's room. She smiled when she noticed the state the room was in. Nicole liked upsetting Laurie's neatness.

"Girls," She said laughing.

Laurie looked up and got to her feet.

"Breakfast." Cassie said.

Nicole let out a squeak when she was tackled.

Then she heard a laugh and looked upside down from the floor to see Cassie standing there. She grinned at her.

"Breakfast," Cassie said.

Nicole got up off the ground and followed Laurie to the kitchen, where Sev was.

"Morning Sev," she said.

Then she sat at the table where she always sat when she was over.

"Whats for breakfast?" Laurie asked sitting down in her seat.

"Cereal." Cassie replied pouring some into a bowl.

Laurie made a face. "We always have cereal."

"Why dont you make breakfast next time?" Cassie asked placing the bowl in front of her.

"I will." Laurie replied digging in.

"You hungry?" Cassie asked Nicole refilling her cup with the coffe machine.

It occured to Laurie then that her mum did alot of things by hand and without her wand.

Nicole nodded her head.

Cassie gave her her cereal too and she began to eat.

After breakfast the kids were outside in the backyard, which was fenced in so they wouldn't wander off when they were smaller, so that Sev wouldn't now as young as he was.

"So what to do today?" Nicole asked, looking at the sky.

I shrugged. "I could ask mum if she will let us use the brooms and quaffle but Sev wouldn't be allowed too."

"I wanna ride a broom." Severus complained. He hated not being allowed on a broom without Cassie. He thought he would be fine riding on his own. He was such a Gryffindor.

"Your not allowed Sev." Laurie said frowing. Sometimes her younger brother annoyed her because she couldn't do things that she liked doing when he hung out with them. "And anyway we only have two brooms. Mine and mum's"

"Well actaully." Cassie said from the doorway. She smiled at them. Her hand was behind her back. "I got you a present Laurie, guess what it is."

Laurie frowned in frustration. She was bad a guessing games and Cassie knew it.

"I dont know." She complained. "What?"

Cassie smiled walking outside and passed her the parstle.

Laurie's eyes lit up. "A new broom." She squeeled and hugged her mum. "Thanks."

"I want a broom." Severus complained.

Laurie smiled and unwrapped her new broom. It was a fairly good model, but a old one and slightly out of fashion. The nimbus 2000's hadn't lasted long in as there was now up to 2012's and the nimbus 2012 wasn't even a topnotch broom. Cassie smiled. Brooms had changed since she was a kid. Cassie walked into the shed and pulled out their quidditch case. And Laurie's old broom and her own.

"Nicole, you can use Laurie's old broom and Sev you can come on this one with me and we'll umpire."

Severus' eyes gleamed.

"We are only using the quaffle because there is no-way we're using the bludgers and the snitch is only fun to watch for the person who has that position. You need to be your teams chasers and keeper." Cassie said giving out the instrutions.

Nicole looked a little uncertain.

"My mum doesn't let me use Quidditch things when I fly. I just fly," she said. "Do you think if she found out she would be mad?"

Cassie reassured her that Lyssa wouldn't.

Nicole nodded and smiled. "Well then it should be fun."

They all got on the brooms after Cassie got out the quaffle and started playing.

After a bit of trying to do something other than stop Laurie or have Laurie stop her, Nicole was getting frustrated. "Zut," she swore under her breath. "This is getting boring," she said louder. "Nothing's happening. Can we let the snitch out and chase that around instead?"

"Yea." Laurie agreed holding the quaffle in her arms. "It's too hard with only one person and anyway once I start school I want to go for seeker not chaser." I grumbled.

"Fine." Cassie said making sure Severus was holding on then zooming over and taking the quaffle. She put it back and let the snitch out.

"Go."

Laurie flew around the backyard looking for the snitch.

She spotted soemthing gold by the fireplace and zoomed after it. After a few seconds Nicole noticed and zoomed after. Laurie having the faster broom had the upper hand and could catch it before Nicole caught up to her. After a few more games the score was. 2, 5. Laurie's way.

Severus was now complaining that he didn't get to go chasing after the snitch and was firmly telling the girls that if allowed he would beat them.

Laurie giggled but said nothing.

"Lunch." Cassie said landing softly on the ground.

Nicole scowled as she lost again and again, but of course she blamed it on the broom.

When Cassie called lunch and they all landed she couldn't hold back the mutter of, "Tricheur."

After all Nicole was a sore loser. They all went inside and ate some easy to make sandwiches for lunch. Cassie had even let the two girls make them themselves, which they were happy about.

As they ate the two talked about school next year. "It's going to be so much fun, don't you think?" Nicole was saying all rather quickly. "I can't wait to see it, and to have my own wand! What house do you want, and which one do you think you'll get? Oh, did you know my cousins are going to be there, although they'll be seventh years."

"Eris and Scor?" Cassie asked eating a sandwhich. "I havnt seen them since they were about your age Laurie. But then, I don't get asked to Malfoy Mannor often." She smiled.

Laurie ignored her mum. "I want to be in Ravenclaw." She said. "But I'm not sure which one I'll get in. I'm going to try out for Quidditch in my second year." She smiled. "I can't wait untill I get my wand though."

Cassie smiled listening to the girls talk about school. She wondered why Laurie wanted to be a Ravenclaw but she didn't mind. It would be funny when Severus got to school if he was a Gryffindor, expecally if one of their houses won. They would annoy the other all holiday until the year started again. She smiled toherself.

"You use Mum's wand anyway." Severus grumbled. He was annoyed at being left out of the conversation.

"Laurie!" Cassie said.

Laurie smiled innocently and Cassie laughed.

"I haven't seen them since Christmas of last year," Nicole mumbled. "Not that I mind not seeing Eris.

"And I want to be like my mum and be in Gryffindor, but I doubt I will be. I'm not brave enough," she continued, looking down.

Then she heard Severus say that Laurie used her mum's wand. She stared at her open-mouthed, which, according to her uncle wasn't proper behavior.

"I can't believe you've done that." She paused. "Why didn't I think of it? It's brilliant!"

Cassie smiled. "We should get your mum to invite us and then over for christmas." She said continueing the conversation before Severus had interupted. She had attemped to do that as a kid herself. But her mum had always caught her.

Laurie grinned. "Because I'm awesome."

Cassie laughed. "Your sounding like a Slytherin there Laurie."

Laurie grimacned. "Over my dead body."

"Mummy, Im still hungry." Severus complained. Cassie sighed and got up to make him another sandwhich.

"We should! Then I wouldn't have just Scor and Eris to hang out with. Stupid teenagers."

She frowned.

"Well, I'm trying the next time I see my mum's wand laying about," Nicole said proudly.

Then Severus had said he was hungry.

After Cassie had gone to get him more food Nicole commented, "Sev, you eat more than me and you're only 4! How!"

She looked at him incredulous, then giggled when he looked surprised at the small outburst. "Je m'ennuie," she then muttered. "Quidditch was fun though."

Cassie smiled. "Little kids always eat more."

"Yea it was." Laurie said. "Thanks for the broom mum."

"No problem kid. Oh and that reminds me, do you have your bracelet because I found the charm you lost."

Laurie nodded and raced up the stairs. She went to retreive her bracelet off her bench. It was a family tradition that the girls got a bracelet when they were born and they got charms for special things. Laurie only had first brithday, first broom and a charm that she got when she finsihed reading her first novel. She had lost that one. She looked in dismay at her bench it wasn't there. When Nicole had disrupted her room this morning it had fallen off.

"Mum." She shouted storming down the stairs. "I can't find it."

Severus giggled. "thats a first."

Laurie glowered at him. "It got knocked off it's place in the morning when Nicole disrupted my room."

Cassie smiled and pulled out her wand. "Accio bracelet." Cassie usually prefered to do things by hand and she got her kids to get their stuff instead of magicing it. So they wouldn't get lazy. The bracelet zoomed downstairs and into Cassie's hands. She got the small book charm. "Repearo." She muttered waving her wand at it. Some things she could not be bothered to do by hand though."

"Désolé," Nicole muttered looking sheepish. "I didn't mean for it to get lost, but did you actually look for it, or did you just look where you had put it?"

Then she clamped her mouth shut. "Sorry that was rude of me to say."

Laurie wacked her on the back of the head. She was usually a shy girl but around people she knew and freinds she wasn't.

"If it had been where I put it, I wouldn't have had to need to look for it."

"Girls." Cassie said sternly she gave Laurie her bracelet who put around her wrist. When she started school she would get another one. Cassie had gotten a small sorting hat. Cassie usally wore her bracelet and it was packed with charms. But then having it for how ever many years old she was you would expect to gather alot of charms.

"Ow..." Nicole muttered rubbing her head. "That almost hurt. Neat freak."

She looked at the bracelet. "I wish we had some sort of family tradition like that," she said. "It would be really cool."

Laurie giggled. "Nearly?"

Cassie smiled. "I don't know when the tradition started."

"I want something." Severus muttered like he did everytime when someone got something he didn't.

"Too bad." Laurie said.

Nicole was frowning.

"Aunt Cassie, can I have a bracelet?" she asked with her cute face. "Please?"

She even went so far as to stick out her bottom lip a little in a pout.
