Moony and Padfoot's first all-alone rp

Court frowned. This kid sounded like she just expected to be pushed aside for her sister. "Sounds more boring than perfect than me. Where's the fun in all of that?" Smirking, he looked around the room and wondered if there was any way to leave a mischievous surprise for the teacher in the classroom. He doubted he could rig anything up with his magic, unless the girl helped, which seemed unlikely. Then again, where was the hurt? "Hey, wanna help me prank the professor?" he asked conspiratorially, looking down at his lines. Though mostly illegible, he was very nearly done. There was the reward for years of hastily scribbled notes and an incessantly exercised right hand.

Kathryn frowned at her page, wondering just why she'd been so willing to share her personal thoughts with a stranger. She was nearly finished, and hoped to do so before Court spoke again. However, she wasn't so lucky as he just a moment later suggested she help prank the teacher. She looked over at him with a frown. "I'd rather not mar my record further, thank you very much," she said, sounding a tad bit angry. Would he not just leave her alone already?

Court shrugged, getting up from his desk carefully and taking his inkpot with him. He carefully positioned everything on the teacher's work desk so that whenever someone sat in it, the ink would immediately tip into their lap. It wasn't a very good prank, but it was the most that he could do without having to flip through books for an hour to find a good spell that he probably wouldn't be able to do anyway. "I don't know why you won't have a bit of fun anyway. If your parents already like your sister better, why not stop caring?" He took his seat again, only to realize he now had no ink to finish the last of his lines. "Hey, can I bum some ink from you?"

Kathryn gave Court a sharp look. "I don't care that they like Lynn more than me most times. I'm not going to give them a reason to like her more," she said, very nearly snapping the response. "And no, you're not getting any of my ink. You should have thought about that before you did away with your own. Now would you leave me alone?"

"Ouch. So now the claws come out. Great," Court muttered, not sure anymore of what he should be doing or saying. He glanced down at his lines and saw that he had only been a few short anyway. Would the professor actually sit down to count all of these? He doubted it. Right now he was more concerned with why the girl sitting next to him was suddenly so hostile.

Kathryn rolled her eyes, scribbling down one last line. "You've just caused my patience to run out," she said, getting up, as she had finished her lines. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have better things to be doing than sitting here."

"Yeah, you go ahead and live your little boring life," Court muttered, putting his head down for a moment. When he left this room, he'd have nothing to do, unless he wanted to go out and get some other little twerp in trouble. This twerp wouldn't even play along with him. "It's a shame you care so much; you could've been fun."

Kathryn didn't respond to anything else that was said to her. She just laid her pages on the professor's desk and walked to the door, opening it and walking out of the room. She had promised to meet Lynn and Luke after her detention.

Court was having a very unlucky couple of weeks. Not long after he'd wound up in the most frustrating detention of his life with little miss priss, he had landed himself another. This time, he was going to be scrubbing out a bathroom on the 6th floor that hadn't been used for a few years due to pipe problems. Personally, he thought that it was way too harsh for tying up with the Slytherins, who were really waiting around asking for it. Right now he was learned against a stall door, waiting on the caretaker, who was supposed to be bringing supplies. He thought to himself idly that he'd like to get a grade for detention, as it'd probably be his best. The door slipped open, but it wasn't the old man who walked in the door, and a slow smirk crossed his face.

Lynn found herself frowning as she walked down the hall. It wasn't her fault that her temper sometimes got out of her control. She frowned more as she walked on the stairs to the 6th floor. This was the last thing she wanted to be doing. Lynn opened the door, only to find on the inside Court, who now had a smirk spread across his face. Lynna scowled at the boy. "Wipe that smirk off of your face," she said. "It makes you look like you were under the impression that I never got in trouble."

Not phased a bit by the defiant tone in her voice, Court merely shook his head and gave a bitter laugh. "Actually," he said, remembering the conversation he'd had with Kathryn the week before, "from what your sister says, you might as well be a nun. So, yeah, it's great to see you here dirtying your hands with a common street rat." He shoved his hands in his pockets and leaned against the grimy wall, not caring much if his now patchy clothing got dirty. That was one of the few things that he had mastered the magic for early on.

Lynn shrugged lightly as she tucked some hair behind her ear and crossed her arms across her chest. "As far as she's concerned," she said, "I am. She thinks I'm at the library right now, in fact, studying. And if you dare go up to her and tell her otherwise after this, you will regret it." Then she gave him a look that dared him to think that her threat was amusing or not serious, which he probably would.

Raising his eyebrows, Court knew not to push his limits on that particular threat, but he was still amused. "So, you're a troublemaker AND a liar? Tsk. What would your parents say?" He didn't know what he so enjoyed about bothering this girl. Normally, if someone pissed him off, he would give them one good right to the face and be done with it. Yet, the more time he spent thinking about this girl, the less he wanted to punch her and the more he wanted to see just how far he could push her.

Lynna frowned at Court as he brought up her parents. "Let's just say...it wouldn't be pleasant," she muttered. "And I'm not a troublemaker or a liar, I'll have you know. These ocassions are rare." She narrowed her eyes at this boy who seemed to always enjoy taunting her for whatever reason.

"Well, you obviously haven't told anyone where you go on these sort of days. I think that sort of makes you a liar. And the fact that you're here at all makes you a troublemaker. So I don't see a point in denying it." He shrugged at her, glad of the narrowing in her eyes that meant she was angry with him. He only hoped that this detention would go better than the one with her sister had.

Lynn frowned. "Believe about me what you will," she said with a shrug. "But I'm standing firm on what I believe." She crossed her arms, the fingers on her right hand tapping impatiently on her left arm. She wanted to get this done and over with as soon as she possibly could. It was only so long before someone would come looking for her and find that she was not where she said she was.

"Mmhmm," Court managed to mumble as he heard the door to the lavatory swing open. Fenworth came in, smoking one of his shoddily rolled cigarettes and looking as if he'd been dragged a mile through the dirt. That was how he always looked, though, and Court felt himself truly smiling despite himself. "Not-Worth-a-Damn! Good to see you!"

"Shut yer trap, Watts," the caretaker shot back before grinning, showing the dark gap in the right side of his mouth where three teeth had once hung. "In trouble again?"

"Yep, and with company this time," Court replied, nodding towards Lynn.

"Pretty lady," Fenworth quipped, winking. "Looks like the two of you have got quite a job."

"Yeah, yours." Grabbing the mop that was already leaned against the wall, Court walked over to grab the bucket that the caretaker had brought in. "Shove off and let us do what you get paid for."

Lynna watched the exchange with a frown on her face. She didn't really want to be here, stuck in the disgusting bathroom with some stupid Gryffindor who seemed to take enjoyment in trying to make her angry. She stood by the wall with her arms crossed, hoping to maybe be ignored for the rest of the detention. It wasn't her fault she had let her temper get the best of her after all. It didn't happen often. She hadn't meant to hit the Ravenclaw...

Luckily, the taps in here worked, and Court plopped the bucket into the sink, turning on the lukewarm water and filling it. He pulled his wand from his bucket and frowned down at the foggy water, trying hard to remember the spell that would make suds for him. He shrugged and muttered, "Ajax," as he tapped the side of the bucket. Immediately pink bubbles appeared and he crowed in triump, lifting the bucket down to the floor and bobbing the mop about in it. "So, what are you in for?" he asked as he went to work mopping the floor.

Lynna looked at Court with a frown. "Why do you want to know?" she asked him as she watched him mess around with the mop and the bucket of soapy water. It was sloshing out all over the floor. Not that it would hurt the floor more, if anything the floor needed to be covered in soap. She still hadn't a move to help or to get any sort of cleaning supplies to help either.

Court shrugged as he pushed the suds into the far corner of the room with the mop. "Just making small talk." He turned to glance at her stationary form, a slight grin fixed to his face as usual. "You could help, you know? It's the nice thing to do."
