They say opposites attract. Samantha+Aaron

"If she was smart she would have backed off from you. I know I acted dramatic, but her extremely petty actions are not justified." Samantha snapped, breathing deeply as to calm her nerves.

"Why are you explaining this to me?" She said suddenly. "I honestly don't care why did she what she did, and I don't care to know what she is like. I just know that she went over the line." Samantha shrugged, frowning at him. "But, as of now, I just want to forget about it. It doesn't matter anymore. Yes, revenge would be nice, but the only thing I could think of is that we kiss or fake date." She rolled her eyes at the absurd idea.

Samantha spit out her words with venom, not quite angry, but definitely annoyed. She seemed as if she was just sick of the whole mess, like she wanted to forget it ever happened. Aaron still thought the reaction was a bit extreme, but he kept his mouth shut and his face sympathetic. Samantha breathed deeply, which Aaron was assumed to help her calm down about the whole mess.

Then, a strange expression appeared on Samantha's face. "Why are you explaining this to me?" she demanded. "I honestly don't care why did she what she did, and I don't care to know what she is like. I just know that she went over the line. But, as of now, I just want to forget about it. It doesn't matter anymore. Yes, revenge would be nice, but the only thing I could think of is that we kiss or fake date." Samantha rolled her eyes, as if it was the most ridiculous thought in the world.

Aaron, however, did not find it all that ridiculous. He was not sure he wanted much to get involved with Samantha's own personal vendetta, but he certainly did want to get Scarlett off his back.

His face deadpan, he responded to Samantha. "Well, I don't think you seem like you would be comfortable with the kissing idea yet, from the way you said it, but I'm up for fake dating. If it would get Scarlett off my back, I would be more than willing to be a temporary assistance in your vendetta against her. You act as if it is the worst idea in the world, but I could make it fun for both of us." He punctuated this by a wink, exaggerated to the point where Scarlett, who was across the path, could see.

Samantha stared at him for a few seconds, trying to fully process what he just said.

He wanted to fake date her? Instead of replying with what should have been shock and disagreement, she said;

"You know... That might work." A look of contemplation crossed her face. "As crazy as it is, It could be a very nice form of revenge." She thought further into the idea. "I hope you know, that if we do agree to this, you're entering yourself into a whole new form of insane, correct? I don't want Scarlett attacking me or anything in the bloody hallway, alright?" Samantha said seriously, staring at Aaron. Then she remembered something else he had said.

"Of course, Aaron, I am completely comfortable kissing you, as I met you yesterday." Samantha quipped, sarcasm making itself apparent in her tone.

"You know... That might work. As crazy as it is, It could be a very nice form of revenge." Samantha paused for a second,as if turning the idea over in her head. She did not seem to really mind the idea, oddly enough--Aaron had expected a more extreme reaction. "I hope you know, that if we do agree to this, you're entering yourself into a whole new form of insane, correct? I don't want Scarlett attacking me or anything in the bloody hallway, alright?" Samantha said seriously.

Aaron smirked. "Samantha, you think I was not in a whole new world of insane before? I dated he girl, for goodness sakes. I know all about insane. There is nothing she can throw at me that I have"

"Of course, Aaron, I am completely comfortable kissing you, as I met you yesterday." Samantha said sarcastically. Aaron, however, chose to ignore the sarcasm. "You said it," he said, winking, and leaning in, planting a kiss on Samantha's lips before she knew what hit her.

Samantha was about to agree to his comment about Scarlett being insane when she felt him move against her. She suddenly found his lips on hers, soft and warm. She gasped a little, not knowing what exactly to do. Did he know that sarcasm in a comment meant the exact opposite than the person was saying?!

Samantha froze a little before relaxing, kissing him back for a second or two before pulling back some, shocked at her actions. A blush spread over her features as she looked into his eyes.

Oh, god. She thought. What did I just do?

At first Samantha looked as if she was going to resist.

But then, to Aaron's surprise, she kissed back. She was not bad at kissing, surprisingly, although Aaron did not know whether she had any experience or not. She seemed like the type who did not, which made it even more impressive. Samantha pulled away after a few seconds, and her face turned bright, bright red. Her cheeks were flushed, although Aaron did not know whether it was from embarrassment, shock, or the kiss. She stared into his eyes, a small smile on her face. However, there was a fear in her eyes, an uncertainty.

"See, now was that so bad?" Aaron said, laughter in his voice. "I think we shall pull this off nicely." He looked over at Scarlett, who had been staring the entire time. She was turning bright red.

Samantha blinked, and vaguely noticed Scarletts face turning...Well... Scarlett. It nearly made her laugh with glee, but her mouth was too busy gaping at Aaron to do anything else. Her mind for once was not racing, instead it had come to a standstill.

"That was... Interesting." She said hesitantly, decided whether or not to be offended at Aarons laughter. Why did it seem like no matter what the situation was, he was laughing? Samantha shrugged it off.

"Uhm..." She started, wondering if she was able to say anything coherent.

"That was... Interesting." Samantha started her sentence, but it seemed she did not know how to finish it properly. She looked awkward, and the blush had not faded from her face. It did make her look lovely, oddly enough. The pink complimented her. She also did not seem to know how to take the fact that he wanted to laugh. However, she did look happy about the fact that Scarlett was angry.

"So, you are not too bad. How much experience do you have with that sort of thing? From the expression on your face, this is a first, but you never know." Aaron was able to keep the big grin off his face this time, although he wanted so badly just to laugh at her awkwardness.

Samantha let loose a hysterical sounding laugh.

"Uh, hah, yeah that was my, er first time kissing someone." She stumbled over her words, biting her lip. Samantha could see his lips twitching, and some random thought of how exactly nice he looked popped through her head.

Uh, no. Shoving the fact that he was rather handsome out of her conscience, she tried to think of something else to say to him.

Something else registered. He said that she was a good kisser. Or, he implied it.

Yeah, Samanthas normal thoughts weren't going to be returning any time soon, it seemed.

"Uh, hah, yeah that was my, er first time kissing someone." Samantha said. Man, was she awkward. She still looked kind of dazed, as if she still had not sorted it out in her head yet. Her look of confusion was sort of amusing, in an adorable kind of way. She had no idea what to think, it was obvious.

Aaron nodded, not surprised. "Well, you have a few things you can work on, but for a first kiss, that was pretty good. You get better with time."

Samantha looked even more uncomfortable with the idea.

Aaron did not want to show how much he enjoyed it himself, and the topic was obviously making Samantha act oddly, so he changed the topic.

"So, now we are 'dating,' I guess? How do you want to orchestrate this thing? What is the plan?" He knew he sounded a bit cold, and possibly bipolar, changing moods so abruptly, but he did not know what else to talk about, or how to talk about it.

"Well, that must be what everyone else is thinking. Or it was a repeat of yesterday and this time you fell into me." Samantha said, her thoughts finally clearing. The expression on Scarletts face was comical, she looked like she was about to pop.

Samantha could see the shocked faces of other students around her, whispering to each other.

The way he sounded when he asked how we were going to pull the whole thing off was a little odd, but Samantha quickly forgot about it. Maybe he was slightly effected by the whole kissing thing, too. Or, it could have been her head not working properly still.

"And sure, I'll get better kissing over time because I'll be kissing so many guys." She said, sarcasm slipping into the conversation once more. Maybe she should stop being sarcastic, look where it lead to!

"Well, that must be what everyone else is thinking. Or it was a repeat of yesterday and this time you fell into me." Aaron grinned. "We kissed, so people will either think that we are dating... yeah, everyone will think we are dating, I believe."

Aaron watched Samantha staring at the whispering girls across the way. Aaron was used to all the staring by now, but Samantha obviously was not. She would have to get used to that over time, although it might be hard on her.

"And sure, I'll get better kissing over time because I'll be kissing so many guys."

Aaron's face turned into a sly, crooked smile. "The point is not for you to go around kissing many guys, just me. At least, for the duration of THIS relationship. We can practice some more now, if you want, while Scarlett is watching?"

Samantha snorted. "Obviously. You don't go around kissing random girls, do you?" She stared at him suspiciously, trying not to smile.

The boys going crazy. She sighed to herself, somehow her mood increasingly better. Was it the fact the just kissed a boy, or the fact that she didn't just kiss any boy, but the boy every girl in Ravenclaw wants? Or the fact that she is getting revenge on Scarlett and that its already working effectively?

Huh. Too many reasons to be happy. The first to weren't so bad, though.

Well, it was good to know exactly how she felt on the whole kissing-Aaron-to-get-back-at-Scarlett plan.

Samantha rolled her eyes at Aaron from his last comment, keeping her cool. He is going insane! She thought, thinking of a reply as the blush finally left her face, even though his comment was extremely blush worthy in any girls standard.

"What one kiss isn't enough for you?" She said playfully.

Samantha snorted. "Obviously. You don't go around kissing random girls, do you?" There was something in her voice that made her sound slightly suspicious, coupled with the look in her gleaming, laughter-filled eyes. "Not when I'm in a relationship, I don't." He winked, leaving her to figure out his non-answer.

She then proceeded to roll her eyes, but the blush that spread out through her cheeks betrayed her. "What, one kiss isn't enough for you?" she said, her voice lighter.

"Oh, it's not for my benefit, Samantha," Aaron said, smirking. "You seemed to enjoy it quite a bit, and it would help with our case, most definitely." He decided to go with that, at least. It was none of her business what his reasoning was. She did not need to know about her soft, sweet lips, which curled up adorable at the edges, or her sparkling, bright, intelligent eyes.

No, she definitely did not need to know about that.

Samantha resisted rolling her eyes at him again with the whole kissing girls when he isn't in a relationship. She supposed she was in a relationship with him, but does it count if its for revenge?

...Does it matter? Samantha thought, then scolded herself. She didn't want to end up actually wanting to be with him and then their revenge finished, leaving Samantha confused.

An odd look crossed his face as he spoke, and Samantha wondered what it was. Aaron was regarding her in some way, but she couldn't understand how it was. Crossing her arms at him, she smiled back.

"You enjoyed it too, Aaron. I could tell." She said, shocked that she admitted to liking it when he kissed her.

He's not going to let her live that one down for a long time.

An odd combination of emotions flashed across Samantha's face, but were gone within an instant. The important one was the one that came last--victory. Uh oh... Aaron thought to himself. She had figured something out, and this was bad news bears. She was a force to be trifled with when she figured things out. And he would be the one dealing with her revelation.

"You enjoyed it too, Aaron. I could tell." Her face morphed as she realized that she had just admitted she enjoyed it, and a new layer of pink spread out across her face. Aaron smirked--maybe her realization would help him to dodge the question.

"You just realized that you admitted that you liked it. To me. Out loud. Didn't you? Because that would explain why you are turning bright red. Don't try to deny it, because we both know that I'm right." Aaron grinned.

"Ah, Aaron, yes, I admitted it, but you never declined that you enjoyed it, thank you very much." Samantha said, not missing a beat. He had caught it, obviously. Aaron always notices the things people don't want to be noticed about them, it seemed. A smile had made its way to her face. Thats when she realized she was having a nice time by him.

Not good. She reminded herself. Samantha couldn't afford to get too close to Aaron. But she could let herself become--at least!-- friends with him. It wouldn't look very convincing if she shied away from him every time he came near her. People would probably think he hit her or something.

Which, right now, it something he certainly isn't doing. Nope, too busy catching her off guard by kissing her in front of the entire population of Hogwarts! A tiny thought floated through her mind.

What would her parents think if they found out? She would have to tell them, she told them everything! Plus, they would want to know the whole and correct story from her, not from some kids parents who all they do is look for gossip on other wizard families.

Samantha turned her attention back to Aaron, realizing she only spaced out for a second or two.

"Ah, Aaron, yes, I admitted it, but you never declined that you enjoyed it, thank you very much." Samantha sounded proud of herself for noticing this, although it seemed she was caught a bit off guard. Did she not expect him to notice? He always noticed things. She should have realized that by now. However, she was a bit more observant than he gave her credit for--she noticed that he never gave a straight answer. He hoped to stall a bit longer, though, avoiding an answer until he would be able to slip by without one.

However, she zoned out for a minute or two. He figured this meant that he did not need to give an answer.

"Is someone in there?" he said, amused. She really was out of it today, her brain wandering all over the place. If she did this every time he kissed her, he would do permanent brain damage, he feared. "Mmkay, no more kissing for you, if it makes you that loopy. Are you usually this... spacey? Either way, would you like to go inside, where we can have a bit of privacy? We can talk things over a bit, and walking by Scarlett holding hands and talking cheerily is pretty much the best form of karmic revenge." Aaron grinned. Plotting always made him happy, but he knew he would have quite a bit of fun in this case. It was going to be a blast.

Samantha felt slightly embarrassed at his comment. She rolled her eyes.

"I was just thinking, silly." She said, smiling at him. "I have no problem with the kissing part." Samantha winked.

"Its not going to be too hard to get revenge. She freaked out by us just talking to each other, so this is going to be a very interesting experience..." Samantha inquired, thinking aloud.

Then she held her hand out to him. "Holding hands is something that can be done sitting, too, Aaron." Samantha said this in a deadpan tone, her face completely serious. It was going to be--maybe-- funny to see his reaction.

"I was just thinking, silly. I have no problem with the kissing part." Samantha's mood changed abruptly, and she flashed him a wink. Aaron took it all in stride, but there was definitely something wrong with Samantha winking. It was just... odd.

"Its not going to be too hard to get revenge. She freaked out by us just talking to each other, so this is going to be a very interesting experience..."

Aaron shook his head, trying not to laugh. "First of all, I'm thinking that kiss really must have screwed up something inside that pretty little head of hers. Since when do you wink? Also, revenge is easy. Doing it properly, however, is the tricky part."

To the last one, he offered no reply. He just stuck out his hand, softly intertwining his hand with her small, cool hands. The other hand he put around her back.

"Is that better?" he asked.

Samantha was shocked at her own actions, and she could almost feel herself blush, but decided to tone it down just a little. Her fingers curled around his, and she felt his hand on her back. Samantha smirked playfully at him.

Now I am going crazy. She thought. Where was this Sam when needed one?!

"Just the kissing part did a pretty good job of revenge. Scarlett actually thinking we are together and that wasn't just a...a pity kiss." A thoughtful look entered her eyes. "But I think we can be pretty convincing." Samantha could see Scarlett out of the corner of her eye, but she continued looking at Aaron, not wanting Scarlett to get suspicious from her staring.

Samantha blushed once again, though the blush from before still had not faded from her face. The position Aaron was in, with one hand in hers and the other on her back, was getting to be quite uncomfortable, so he slowly slid his arm off. He leaned back against the tree, using his other hand to prop himself up, and he swung his and Samantha's hands back and forth.

"Just the kissing part did a pretty good job of revenge. Scarlett actually thinking we are together and that wasn't just a...a pity kiss." Samantha trailed off for a second, a ponderous look in her eyes. "But I think we can be pretty convincing."

Aaron grinned. "Of course we can be convincing. We're not faking too terribly much, although the kisses were a bit staged. However, she will be too green with envy to notice that. We should be fine, and I think we've started a long, lovely, down-ward spiral for her. She is livid right now, I'm sure."

Aaron's grin faded a bit, though, when he realized what this meant. "You know what this means for you, though, right? It means you are going to have a lot of crap to deal with in the next few weeks, or however long you want to keep this going. I can shield you from some, but an out of control Scarlett is bad news for everyone."

Samantha watched him shift and get more comfortable before speaking again. She stared at him with a serious expression.

"I understand, Aaron. Merlin knows, I understand." She said, nodding. Then she looked back at what he said. "Oh, so you planned on kissing me? Is there something you're not telling me, Aaron." Samantha looked at him suspiciously, her eyes narrowing in fake confusion.

Thats when the worst thing possible happened.

Samantha was about to pull out of her joking stance when she saw something out of the corner of her eye. Scarlett was making her way through the students toward them.

"I understand, Aaron. Merlin knows, I understand." Samantha's tone was grave, acknowledging the seriousness of the matter. Aaron was glad she did not try to brush it off--this was not a joking matter, and Samantha was going to have to have tough skin for the duration of the relationship. Otherwise, she would fall apart.

However, soon, the joking tone filtered a bit back into her conversation. "Oh, so you planned on kissing me? Is there something you're not telling me, Aaron." Samantha's eyes narrowed, suspicion shining through, but her voice lighter.

"I'm glad you understand the gravity of the situation. Things are not going to be easy for you."

He then grinned broadly, the spark back in his eyes. "That's for me to know, Samantha, and you to wonder about. It would be entirely too easy to just TELL you my evil designs. A proper evil genius never reveals the full story, whether he is responsible or not."

However, then, Scarlett began to approach. Aaron had an idea.

"Samantha," he said, his volume lowered slightly, but the grin still on his face. "Act like you are having fun. Don't give her the satisfaction of knowing that you don't want her over here. It will defeat her devices."

Samantha pulled a convincing grin on, pretending that she didn't notice Scarlett getting closer and closer, swiftly moving through the throng of students. Tightening her hand slightly, she whispered back to him, the smile still perched on her face. Hopefully she thought it looked like she was flirting with Aaron, not planning on how to get revenge on Scarlett for ruining her day.

Yeah, coming to the conclusion that they were planning revenge was just a little unlikely.

"Okay. I'll try to be nice and civilized." She said, raising an eyebrow at him. "Shall I say the same for you?" Samantha added jokingly. Then she remembered his earlier comment. "But, dear Aaron, are you a proper evil genius? Or is this some crazy facade? I most certainly will be wondering about that..."
