The Final Wall is Breaking Down

Cassie shrugged at her, grabbing her brush off her desk and pulling it through her hair. "You acting kind of weirdly, wearing long sleeve shirts and going off to change in the bathroom. I thought we'd gotten through that awkwardness in first year." Cassie shrugged again chucking her hair brush onto her desk.

"Oh," Lyssa muttered. She felt she should say more, like 'it's nothing' or something equivalent, but Cassie would've called that lie easily, so Lyssa was just quiet for a moment. Then she asked, "Breakfast?"

"Sure," Cassie said still frowning. The twos girl amde their way downstairs. "What do you guys want?" Sam asked them.

"Food?" Lyssa said in her usual response to when someone asked a question like that in a kitchen, smile on her face to show she wasn't completely serious.

"No Lyssa," Cassie said with a slight eyeroll. "We are going to eat plastic." She smiled though.

Lyssa stuck out her tongue at Cassie. "So long as it's not toast," she said. "I don't really care what it is. I haven't eaten since lunch yesterday. Missed dinner because of....Nevermind. Then got here late."

Sam got them some ceral and passed it to both of the girls. She noticed Lyssa wearing a long sleeve but didn't comment on it.

The two ate the cereal, and then -armed with a water bottle each- set off outside to walk around.

The two girls set off down the street, Cassie making a face at the heat. It was far too hot for her liking.

Lyssa sighed. It was way too hot out. She wanted to do nothing short of pulling off her sweater in favor of the shirt under it, but that would cause all sorts of chaos that she didn't want to deal with, and she wondered if she could last all summer with her secret still being a secret.

The two set off down the streets, Cassie untentionally steered them towards the park. When she got there she looked aroud, having not seen the park for a fair few years, though it looked just about the same.

So, instead of walking around some streets, the two walked around the park, finally taking a break on a bench under a tree. Lyssa sighed and leaned back on the bench, closing her eyes slightly. She was burning up in her sweater, stupid weather.

"You should take your sweater off," Cassie said frowning. "You'll get heat stroke or something."

Lyssa shook her head at Cassie with a frown. "I'll be fine," she said. Although, she wished she could take it off.

"If you say so, you don't look very comfortable though." Cassie said with a shrug

Lyssa shrugged. "Think we should head back? It's sort of hot..."

"Sure," Cassie said.

The two got up from the bench and walked back to Cassie's house. Upon walking in and feeling the cool air conditioning, Lyssa sighed, probably in relief that it wasn't hot anymore.

The two girls got inside and Cassie flopped down onto the couch. She did not like summer because of the heat. "I'm going swimming," She declared getting up. "It's far too hot to not."

Lyssa, who had also flopped down on the couch, looked at her friend. "You do that then," she said. "I think I'll just stay inside for a while."

"Mkay," Cassie said going up stairs to get into her bathers. "Oi Lizzie," Cassie said banging on her door. "Want to go swimming?" Lizzie did and about ten minutes later the two girls were mucking around in the pool. Cassie still wondering what was up with Lyssa.

Lyssa sat around inside for a while longer, before getting up and going upstairs. Her current clothes were all sweaty, so she needed a shower.

"Where's Lyss?" Lizzie asked storking over to the other side of the pool. "She didn't want to go swimming." Cassie said with a shrug scouping up water and pouring it over her head. "Hrm," Lizzie said. "She should come in, its nice and cold." "Yeah," Cassie said. "I might go ask her if she's sure she doesn't want to come."

Lyssa took a shower, feeling nice and refreshed after. She was now lounging around in Cassie's room, not bothering with a sweater since she wasn't expecting anyone to come in any time soon. Cassie and Lizzie were swimming, Cassie's dad was at work, and Sam was out shopping or something. Although, she did keep a sweater out and ready to grab just in case.

Cassie got out of the pool and grabbed her towl, quickly drying herself off. her parents didn't like her traversing through the house wet and dripping water everywhere. Heading through the kitchen, quickly, as to keep the tattle-tale water from dripping she headed towards the stairs. she jumped u the stiars, skipping every second one. Cassie really did not have the patience to take a few extra seconds and step on every step.

She ended up droping the towl half way and had to stop to pick it up, draping it over her shoulders. Cassie got to the landing and pushing her wet hair out of her face she headed towards her bedroom.

"Hey Lyss." Cassie said pushing the door open, though she stoped midsentence as Lyssa scrambled to pull on a sweater, that had been sitting next to her. While she was scrambling, Cassie caught sight of something on her arm. While she couldn't catch the shape of it she saw the generally size and the colour of it. Black. "Lyssa..." She said slowly, with a frown and looking at her freind.
