I groaned and leaned back against the tree. There went wasted time. I wasn't really sure what I'd been after with her, except maybe to gauge if I had the same power over her as I did nearly every other girl in the school. I could probably woo Granger if I tried, not that I would ever make a move on that bushy-haired freak of nature. Dirty little Mudblood. However, this was Slytherin, this was an unbreakable wall of force. How had I managed to break down such mammoth defenses? I shrugged my shoulders at no one, a useless gesture. I slowly turned around and wondered how I was getting down from the tree without Goyle to help as he usually did. I looked for footholds in the tree but found none. Finally, I glanced both ways and conjured a feather pillow on the ground and jumped down, landing awkwardly and twisting my ankle. No one had seen me, though, and I stuffed the pillow behind the tree rather than draw attention with more magic. I walked back towards the school, not knowing particularly who or what I was after.
