I've been on a losing streak. Hit so hard I couldn't speak.

Lils then set out to repeat the spells from the day before, only running the Crucio part longer to tire Cassie out more, so that maybe the second spell would work better.

Cassie's body shook more then it already had been as the nightmare took over her senses. She was too tired to see the line between reality and dreams, and for all she knew it could have been true. It certainly felt like it.

Lils watched as the spell ran its course. It seem to be working better this time, so the key to success was a tired mind. She stored that away for a later date.

The spell ended and Cassie found herself once again in the basement. She swallowed a few times, trying to calm herself down, which only succeded minimually.Cassie didn't like mind tricks. She looked at Lils actually feeling somewhat scared as to what the girl might and could do.

Lils looked at Cassie, who looked miserable and scared. "All you have to do is give in to what the Dark Lord wants and I'll stop," she said.

Cassie looked at her. "I'm not giving in," She said. "I am not going to betray the side that I'm fighting for. Voldemort can go rot in a hole for all I care. Actually, I'd rather he did."

Lils scowled at the girl. "Have it your way then," she said, waving her wand to do a spell. (hint: it's that one spell I can't type anymore outside of msn)

"You know," Cassie said weakly from the floor once the spell had stopped. "You're not going to win. I don't see why you bother. I'm a Gryffindor, I'm just going to keep going till I fall over dead."

"You're not going to die," Lils said in a voice that could should be classified as one that should scare people. "You're going to wish you were dead, but you won't die. Because you see, I'm very good at what I do. This, this is just the beginning."

Cassie looked at her, rolled her eyes at her dramatics and shifted herself so she was leaning against the wall. because leaning against the wall was more comfortable then lying on the floor.

Lils left. She once again just sat around thinking of ways to break the girl's spirit. It was going to be harder than she had first thought.

Cassie shut her eyes, though opened them a moment later as visions of the nightmare played along the underside of her eyelids. She woke up a few times in the night because of that and because of the pain her body was still in.

The next day, instead of going to see Cassie after breakfast, Lils had something she had to do and so wasn't home for most of the day. When she did get home, however, it was just in time for dinner. She ate dinner and then wondered if she should even bother with going down to the basement; she'd had a busy day.

Cassie was relieved when Lils didn't appear that day, though the downside to that was that she didn't get any food but she could live.

Lils decided she would just pick up things again the next day. She was too tired to deal with torturing anyone. So, she went to bed instead. The next morning, however, she went back to the routine.

Cassie had been trying to sleep but the noise Lils had made when she entered the room woke the girl up. She rolled over drowsily looking at her.

Lils smiled pleasantly at the girl. "Good morning," she said. "Sorry I wasn't around yesterday, life got in the way. But, I have every intention to make up for it."

Cassie just stared at her, that girl was an absolute nutter.

And so, Lils went through the usual spells, but this time she threw in a spell that caused physical harm. It was nothing big, just a simple diffindo aimed at Cassie about five times.

Cassie flinched as the diffindo hit her, causing her to bleed.

Lils looked at the number of cuts she'd just caused to appear on the other girl. They were all bleeding at a rather steady rate and one looked moderately deep. It gave Lils a twisted sense of satisfaction. She stood there for a moment, motionless, just observing. Then, so swiftly she barely registered it herself, she cast the spell one last time, putting behind it all the power she could muster. A rather nasty and deep gash appeared, running down the length of Cassie's arm, from her shoulder to her wrist.

Cassie let out a gasp and tried to protectivly pulled her arm to her chest, which she couldn't really do with it chained to the wall. So instead she pushed her other arm against it, trying to stop the flow of the blood, blood soaked both of her sleeves. Cassie's breathing quickened and she felt somewhat faint from the lack of blood in her body, as quite a lot of it seemed to be on her instead of in her which was where she needed it to be. She shut her eyes, leaning her head on the wall sobbing quietly.

Lils assessed what she had done again, then sighed when she figured she'd probably gone too far, since now there was a higher chance that Cassie could die from blood loss now. She took a step towards the girl and said, "You had better be glad I can't let you die on me, or you would probably be dead soon." Then she healed up the more minor cuts, and lessened the worse ones, but didn't get rid of them completely.

Cassie moaned quietly, trying to ignore the pain that the cuts, or well gashes had caused. They deeper ones were still bleeding somewhat and Cassie wondered if there was a spot on her body that was actually clean. She doubted it.

Lils left the room to clean herself up, as some blood had splattered (oh ugh that sounds nasty) on her clothes and skin. It made her shudder. But she had seen that what she was doing was hurting Cassie now. And that was when she decided physical pain was the answer to her dilemma, since mental hadn't worked.
