A Change of Pace: RoA

"I noticed that," Cassie said with a shrug.

They sat in silence for a little while, before a Death Eater showed up to get them, saying Voldemort wanted to see them both with a twisted smirk on its face as it did so.

Cassie did not like that twisted smirk, not one bit. She glared at the Death Eater as he grabbed both girls and forced them out of the cellar.

Lyssa, well she was scared out of her wits, because she knew that she was already standing on thin ice with getting killed, and this very much had the potential to tip that right over.

Cassie tried to pull her arm out, but it didn't succed in doing anything. Except maybe hurting her arm.

The two girls got dragged into the room where Voldemort was, looking really really pissed off.

Cassie wanted to cross her arms across her chest, but she couldn't. So she setlled for glowering at him.

Lyssa was actually almost literally shaking. She was actually quite scared, but her face gave nothing away. The Death Eater let go of both girls, giving them a shove so they were both standing in front of Voldemort, and then going to stand by the door in case they made a swift break for it.

Voldemort looked at them, his snake-like eyes surverying them. It gave Cassie the creeps. "You two have been giving me quite a lot of discomforte lately. Melyssa," He said rounding on the girl. "Care to explain exactly why my Death Eaters found you at (insert apprioate word)

Lyssa flinched away a little, putting on her skills of acting, although if you knew her well enough you could see she was lying since her eyes seemed to dim a little to hide what she was truly thinking. "It's like I told you before, my Lord," she inwardly made a face at the term, "I was doing recon, and I had to keep up pretenses."

If Cassie hadn't known better she would have felt betrayed. But she could tell that Lyssa was lying. Voldemort looked at the girl. "There were hardly any members there at the time, which meant you were not there on strict buisness and it would be risky to be there when you didn't need to be in case something. slipped."

Lyssa looked down at the floor. "I'm paranoid that I'd miss something. That's why I was there. Things happen when not everyone is around after all," she muttered. "I was just trying to make sure I got all the information I could, for you."

Cassie who decided she could help Lyssa with the whole acting gave the girl a dark look, but there was an unmistakable twinkle in her eye that told Lyssa she knew that she was faking. Voldemort looked at Lyssa contemplating whether he deemed that a suffient answer.

Lyssa waited, body coursing with apprehension, unsure what Voldemort would decide. Hopefully, it fell in her favor, so that maybe she could get herself, Cassie, and any others out of there.

Voldemort decided he believed her.

Lyssa nearly visibly relaxed as he believed her, but that would have made him suspicious again, so she just let it run through her hidden. So her hands were unbound and she got her wand back. As Lyssa moved away, she gave Cassie a look that said she'd get her free next.

Cassie's gaze flitted from Lyssa back to Voldemort. She wondered what was coming next. And hoped that Lyssa would be able to free them, or at least some of them.

Now, Voldemort turned his attention to Cassie. "You, child, have caused me very much grief as of late. And that is unacceptable. So, now, what should I do with you?"

Free me so I can continue causing grief? Cassie thought in her mind. She didn't say anything, just looking at him waiting for what his verdict was going to be. Talking would put her in more trouble then she was already in.

Voldemort made a thoughtful face, and Lyssa watched him warily. "Maybe," he said, "I should just kill you now, but that would deny my Death Eaters their chances of revenge. So, I think that I will give them ample opportunity to torture before you die. Along with the others from your group we managed to capture before they fled."

Cassie's eyes darkened as she looked at him. "Leave the others alone," She snarled wondering what she had done by bringing them into the war. Got them captured by Death Eaters, who were going to toture and then kill them. Wonderful.

Voldemort scowled. "Do not tell me what to do, or I'll just skip over the torturing and kill them all now."

Cassie scowled at him. Her mind racing. There was nothing she could do, and there wasn't much that she could imagine that Lyssa could do.

Lyssa bit her lip as Voldemort ordered Cassie to be taken from the room, the torturing stuff to start happening the next day. That gave her the night to figure something out. Maybe she could sneak down and set them all free.....

Cassie scowled as she was pulled from the room and back into the cellar. As her arms were pulled one wrist knocked against the other and she felt the bracelet. She wanted to facepalm about forgetting about it, but there was nothing she could do with her arms behind her back.
