A Change of Pace: RoA

So, McGonagall asked her questions. When she finished Lyssa said, "You know, professor, you're worried over nothing. Everyone in our group will be just fine. I'm in the most danger anyway, although, now I feel less freaked out about that thanks to you."

"You can all still get killed," McGonagall said. Cassie frowned. "Bugger," She muttered. And then she looked at McGongall. "This, is exactly why I was hesitent to tell you it was us. Because you'll try and stop us-" "I never said-" "But you meant it, and you'll try to protect us if we're out there. We're not stupid McGonagall, we know that we can die, which is why we're fighting. To try and stop others from dying too."

Lyssa nodded along with Cassie. "If we die doing what we think is the right thing to do, is that really so bad?" she asked, giving McGonagall a look. "Is it so wrong that we don't just want to sit in the backseat and let you guys do all the work?"

Cassie and Lyssa went back to HQ. The next week passed without much incident. yssa was called to Voldemort a few times but she managed to give sufficent infomation to keep him content. So everything was going reasonalbly fine until two sixth years got into some arguement over something they had read in the paper. Cassie wasn't quite sure what it was about, but when she was walking from the living room to the kitchen Cassie heard one of the idiots say Voldemort. "Shit," She swore. A moment later the wards fell.

Lyssa had heard it as well, but hoped she hadn't. "Cassie, did you just hear someone say...?" she asked, raising an eyebrow at the girl.

Cassie nodded, swearing again. "We need to get the wards back up before Death Eaters-"

"Haven't a clue," Lyssa said. "I suggest we get the hell outta here."

Cassie only had time to nod before Death Eaters were suddenly everywhere.

Lyssa swore and yelled as loud as she could through the house for the people who hadn't seen the Death Eaters yet, "Oi! Get ready to fight! We have company!"

The next few minutes were choas. But as the whole of Audentia was not there they were seriously outnumbered. There was only about fifteen, including Lyssa and Cassie. Out of the corner of her eye Cassie saw one kid apperate away. She snorted at his lack of courage, sure he could fight when it suited him but not when the odds were not on his side.

Lyssa fought back against the DE saying to hell with appearances, making her way closer to Cassie. "Erm, Cass, this is not working out well. We have to leave, or we're gonna lose."

"Yeah," Cassie said with a nod. As loud as she could she shouted. "Retreat" and was about to grab Lyssa's arm to disaperate when a spell hit her and threw her back into the wall.

So, instead, Lyssa shouted it as she had meant to shout it with Cassie. "Retreat!" And then, instead of leaving, she turned her attention to Cassie.

What happened next was a slight blur that Cassie couldn't comprehend. Spells were still flying everywhere. Cassie tried to roll out of the way to spring up but she was hit with another spell that stunned her.

Lyssa watched as a few people got away from the Death Eaters, but others weren't so lucky. Most just ended up unconscious and bound, but she thought one might be dead. She went over to Cassie who had been stunned, trying to wake the girl up. She wasn't about to just let people get captured. But, just as she reached the other girl, Lyssa got flung into the wall as well, and since she was close to it she hit it full force.

Cassie awoke sometime later, groggy and sore. Her back and head ached from being smashed into a wall. She wodnered what hadhappened, who had managed to get away and what was going to happen now. She didn't like being captive again. Not one bit.

Lyssa was already awake again, having been knocked out from hitting the wall, before Cassie woke up. She sitting there, muttering to herself over and over, "This is bad," because she knew that unless she pulled out something amazing she was dead, but maybe if she did pull off that amazing something she could get free and get a wand again and stuff and then save the others.

Cassie swore, she hated the feeling that had come over her. Helpless and defenceless. She had no idea what to do, she was pretty sure there was nothing she could do.

"Cassie," Lyssa whispered, noticing the other girl was up, "what are we going to do?" She was rather scared, and Cassie was the one who had made Audentia-- which was a great idea-- so Lyssa hoped maybe she'd have another great idea to save their butts.

"If I knew," Cassie said quietly. "I wouldn't be here, if I had some brilliant plan I would have seen this coming and done something to stop it."

Lyssa looked at Cassie panicked. "McGonagall was right. Kids shouldn't be fighting in a war. This is going to get us both killed," she despaired.

Cassie looked at her. "Say what you wish," She said. "But I'd rather be here then sitting safely at home doing nothing, afraid to leave my home and expecting others to fix everything."

"I would rather not die," Lyssa hissed, "so that maybe I could live out in a world that maybe someone else fixed. Because, I haven't gotten that chance yet, Cassie, and I want it."

"If it came to it, I'd rather not die too. But this Lyssa dear is what makes me a Gryffindor, I'm going to fight even if it's the stupidest thing to do. Because not fighting means giving up, and you know me, I don't know when to stop. And I enver will. Otherwise I would not be here for the second time this year, wondering if i'm ever going to see my family again."
