I Don't Play Your Rules, I Make My Own

"So, what do we do now?"

Once they back to their place what had happened fully hit Cassie. "Oh god," She said sinking to the floor and putting her head in her hands. "I'm-I'm a..I'm a murderer. Oh god."

Lyssa sank down beside Cassie and gave her a hug. "Hey, now," she said. "I am, too. But, I did it for you."

Cassie's body shook, and she wound her arms around her knees. "I-I killed someone,they, they would have had family and freinds who-who loved them and now, oh god." Cassie's shoulders slumped even further.

Lyssa tightened her hug. "Hey, now," she soothed. "Calm down. It won't do you or them any good to get upset."

"I, I can't do this Lyssa, I can't just turn around and act like their's nothing wrong. I can't act against my beliefs, I can't." She was nearly sobbing.

"Ssshh ssshh," Lyssa whispered. "I'm not asking you to. But, I'm also asking you not to give into it. It hurts, knowing you've done that. I feel it, too. But, I'm not going to let it cripple me. I'm going to be a stony bitch and act like I don't care, so that me and my family will be okay."

"I can't Lyssa, I can't act like that. But if I don't, my family will die. I don't know what to do. I don't know."

"Try, Cassie. And you don't even have to try all the time. Just try when you're around the Death Eaters, so they don't think something is up. Be as free as you want to be here. It's fine."

"I can't act like a Death Eater Lyss! That's, that's giving in. That's, doing what I'm told. It's not me!"

"I'm not telling you to bloody be one! I'm telling you to pretend you are! Like a children's game! So that maybe I can keep you alive!"

"But that's showing him that he's won! THat i'll do as he says."

"No, it won't, Cassie. Because behind his back you will be defying him. And you know that. You're aren't giving in to anything."

"But I can't act like that."

"You have to try. For the sake of your life and your family's lives."

"I-I dunno. I guess, I can try. I dunno." Cassie was still shaking.

"You have to try, Cass," Lyssa muttered. "But, for now, just cry as much as you want to, and be upset as much as you need. You don't have to pretend yet."

Cassie cried for a bit, but then her distraughtness turned more into anger so she threw a few things into the wall. Including the picture frame that had only been fixed the day before. She disapearedto her room, pushing something against the door so it couldn't be opened.

Lyssa had long since retreated to her room to avoid the anger and wrath of Cassie.

A few weeks passed, with the girls being summoned by Tom a few times. Cassie hating the way she started to act, just so she and her family was safe. It disgusted her. She wasn't that person, she didn't want to act like she was. She didn't want to act like she was better than others, she was as close to Muggle born as you could get without actually being muggle born.

Lyssa was getting more disgruntled as the weeks went on, as she was totally not on Voldemort's side at all. She was just there because her family had dragged her into it, and she would rather not be. Thankfully, though, she had the bitchy Malfoy act down.

Cassie scowled feircly as her mark burned, she wanted to just ignore it. But she couldn't, but she really wantedto.

Lyssa was really getting sick and tired of the Mark, and sometimes she just wanted to chop the stupid thing off, but that would be bad as it was on her left arm, and that was her dominant hand.

Cassie grumbled grabbing her wand. 'I don't even want to live in a world of magic, and I have to take part on the side I'm against. Lovely." She scowled.

Lyssa frowned at Cassie. "Cass," she muttered.
