Just a day like any.

Drew shrugged, suppressing a grin. "You said if I picked a topic, you could chatter about it."

"If you picked a reasonable topic Drew dear, there is very little to chatter on about platypuses, other than they are creatures, and Australian, they live in water, and are mammals although they do lay eggs, which makes them unique in that way."

Drew grinned. "Well, you knew probably more than I did on platypuses, so that was not a waste of a topic."

"Who would have known I knew more about something than you did?"

"Well, you certainly know more about being a Gryffindor and landing yourself in detention."

Demi rolled her eyes. "That is important things to know, it's good to know how to test boundaries. and how people react to those boundaries being tested."

Drew raised an eyebrow. "So that's what you call it."

"It is a valuable lesson to learn in life."

"I know all about boundaries. I just like to stay on the safe side of them."

Demi rolled her eyes. "That's boring, and sometimes when push comes to shove you may need to push these boundaries."

"And when I need to, I can. But when I don't need to, I don't."

"Pfft," she scoffed. "You'd be too stressed out that you were breaking rules to do anything."

Drew laughed. "You HAVE realized that I've been your co-conspirator for two years, right?"

Demi grinned at him. "Course I have, but regardless, you always opt for the smaller ideas. Instead of the ones that go BOOM"

"Going BOOM is much less fun than having lots of POPs."

"But lots of BOOMS is even more fun!"

"Lots of BOOMs draw lots of attention."

"Pretty sure that is the point of lots of BOOMS."

Drew sighed. "Why lots of BOOMs?"

"Why not?"

"Because lots of BOOMs means lots of mess to clean up."

"But, it's usually not our mess is it?"

"You do sometimes get caught."

"Yeah but.." she trailed off and shrugged. "The outcome far outweighs the risk," she grinned.

Drew shook his head. "Not always, especially when there are lots of BOOMs. Do you remember the one time that Slughorn caught you trying to explode that poor Slytherin's cauldron? You got a week and a half of detention for that, tutoring little first years, and nothing even went BOOM!"
