Down By the Water

"Then I'll steal you some, too!" Celeste said, smiling broadly.

Renee smiled tentatively. "Thank-you."

"We'll have to be SUPER SNEAKY, though," Celeste whispered loudly. "Can you do that?"

Renee gave her a bemused look. "Can do," she answered.

"YAY!" Celeste said, speaking entirely too loudly.

"I thought we were being sneaky?" Renee asked with amusement. "Sneaky means quiet silly."

"Oh," Celeste said, quieting down. "Right. Quiet."

Renee nodded. "Yes quiet, gotta be quiet when sneaking, otherwise you get caught."

"That's silly," Celeste said. "But you're right. So let's go!" she said, much more quietly that time.

Renee smiled. "You're silly," she said following the girl.

They snuck into the kitchen and stole banana bread.

Eating her banana bread Renee glanced around the room, it was very different to her kitchen, this one was full of weird stuff.

"You look confused," Celeste said as she took a bite of banana bread.

"Your kitchen is different to mine," she said with a slight frown.

"What's yours like?" she asked.

"Just doesn't have all this weird stuff," Renee said gesturing to the fridge.

"What do you mean weird stuff?" Celeste sounded baffled.

"I mean weird stuff," Renee said moving over and prodding the fridge.

"You don't have a fridge?" Celeste said, her eyes widening.

Renee shook her head. "Fridge," she said repeating the word. It sounded weird. "What's a fridge do?"

Celeste looked at Renee like she was crazy. "It keeps food cold! Do you seriously not have one?"

Renee shook her head, thinking that muggles were weird. How did a big box keep food cold anyway? "We don't have one," she said with a shrug.

"How do you keep your food cold, then?"

Renee shrugged. She had a feeling, magic, wasn't quite the right answer to give there.

Celeste tilted her head. "I think your family is a bit weird, Renee."
