RP one million and seventeen; (26)

"Well ah..." Cassie said awkwardly leaning on the door in the cellar. She wasn't exactly sure what to say. "Can't you just let us go?" Ron asked her. "Ron," Harry said half scoldingly. "You literally just asked her to give her life to save ours." "But your more important then she is!" Ron exclaimed. "Your the only one that can defeat Voldemort." Cassie raised her eyebrow. "Well thanks Weasley, if I see your family I'll be sure to tell them the last thing I heard you say was that my life wasn't important." She glowered at him and slammed the cellar door shut locking it with a flick of her wand before she stormed back up the stairs.

Cassie having no idea what had just happened stalked off to her room and slammed the door behind her. The sound echoed slightly but Cassie didn't care, she was wondering what on earth had happened. Sure she had a temper but that had been completly out of Character. "In a way he was kinda right," She said with a feirce scowl. "Git."

Lyssa blinked for a second, before she turned to go up the stairs herself. She had no clue what the hell had just happened with Cassie, but eh. She walked to her room, flopping back on the bed, bored now. There was never anything to do around the Manor.

Cassie had a shower, as that had always succeded in calming her down in othertimes but this time it just made her irritated. She looked around the room she was in, remembering it from when she had stayed here in the holiday after second year. That holiday really had been a fiasco.

Lyssa ended up dozing off, and not waking up until the next morning, just in time for breakfast. She took a shower and then, after getting ready, she walked down the stairs, though she didn't bother drying her hair.

Cassie woke up the next morning hungry, and although she wasn't that sure what to do about food she tentativly set off to the kitchen to find something to eat. After going around the inconvience of house elves Cassie made her way back to her room.

Lyssa got breakfast and went back to her room to eat it. She wasn't up to dealing with people that day. Thankfully, for the other people in the Manor, such as her parents, Lyssa didn't run into anyone. She was just like that sometimes, not wanting to put up with anyone. And if she did she was usually a snide grouch about it.

The day passed kind of slowly and sometime later some Death Eater or another came and told Cassie that 'the Dark Lord' wanted to see her. It turned out what Voldemort wanted to see her about was to make her torture someone, that someoe being Dean Thomas. Cassie's stomache flipped in a not plesent way as a Death Eater chucked him onto the floor. He looked so helpless, with his arms stuck behind his back. Cassie got a de ja vu from when she had been doing the same thing. "I can't," She said softly even though she knew that can't wasn't an option. She shook her head looking at her classmate, she'd been in the same classes with him for six years, though even if she hadn't knowthe person it wouldn't have made much of adifference. She just couldn't, it wasn't her, she wasn't a violent person. Apart from Voldemort and Dean there were four other people in the room, Bellatrix, The Carrows and Lucius, all of which she would very much like to point her wand on.

"Evans," Cassie turned to glower at Voldemort as he adressed her, then her eyes' widened as she saw Professor Snape enter the room and holding in his hands was the limp figure of her sister. "Lizzie," She exclaimed glowering at Snape who just dropped her to the ground not caring that the fall might have hurt her. "What did you do to my sister?" She growled.


"Nothing. Yet." Cassie turned her attension back to Voldemort who was sitting in his chair like he was some king or other. She glowered at him looking worryingly at her sister. "But if you refuse to do as I say you will inconsequencly find yourself one family member short." Cassie's eyes widened and she knew that she was backed into a wall. Again. Stupid freaking git, knowing that to get her to do what he wanted he only needed to threaten her family and she would have to do what he asked because she didn't want her family hurt because of her.

Her hand shaking she pointed her wand at Dean, with the way her hand was shaking she wouldn't have been surprised if she had missed, and uttered one curse she never thought she would have ever spoken in her life. "Crucio," It was barely louder then a whispeand Cassie nearly dropped her wand when Dean's body started to spazz. She could hear his screaming and her hand was shaking so much now that she couldn't keep her arm steady. Voldemort lifted his hand and Cassie stopped the spell wanting to just fall over, she didn't though. Because she didn't want to seem weaker then she already was.

Lyssa was still in her room when she heard a racket. Sighing lightly, she got up to follow the sounds and investigate. What she came upon, however, was the last thing she would ever expected to stumbled upon.

Cassie was doing her best not to break down in tears and have a fit like a two year old, trying to calm her breathing which had sped up she glanced at Dean who one of the Carrows was dragging out of the room. He looked only half concious. Cassie was sure she would never forget the look on his face when she cruicoed him, a look of ultimate pain. Cassie knew how crucio felt. "kneel," Voldemort said to Cassie. Cassie didn't. "Your manners seem to be lacking," Voldemort said. "My Manners?!" Cassie shouted at him but stopped what would have been a marvolous yelling fit when he flicked his wand causing Lizzie to spasm, Cassie had first thought she was unconious but that showed she must have just been put into some sort of deep sleep. "Leave her alone," Cassie said softly. "Then do as I say." Voldemort's voice was hard and Cassie burying her pride got down on one knee.

Lyssa watched the happenings from just outside the door; it was open a little bit. Her eyes were wide and her mouth had dropped open at some point in time.

The spasms stopped and after what felt like an eternity Voldemort dismissed her and Cassie was halfway to the door when she turned to face her sister again as if reading her mind, Voldemort said. "Your sister stays with me, to insure that you do as I say." Cassie knew there was nothing she could do about it and with a worried glance at sister she fled the room, not even noticing Lyssa outside the door. Cassie got to her room and slammed the door colapsing on the bed. Lizzie shouldn't have had to have been caught up in this, she knew just about nothing of the wizarding world and was happy about that fact, and here she was getting dragged in because of her Cassie.

Lyssa backed away from the door once people started to dissapate. She walked back up the stairs, biting her lip as she did so. She slowed as she reached her door, but didn't stop. Instead she walked down to Cassie's door. Knocking on it, she said, "Cass, can I come in?"

Cassie heard a knock on the door and a moment later heard Lyssa's voice. "No," Cassie shouted back, she didn't want to talk to anyone right now. She felt like crap, and wanted to wack her head against something. Or bash Voldemort's head against something. She would have never in her life thought that she would do something like that, have to inflict pain and someone who didn't deserve it. Cassie got up and opened the door despite shouting out no a moment before.

"Ok then," Lyssa said, walking away from Cassie's door. She was about to do something that was probably stupid, but she didn't really care. With a determined sigh she walked back to the room from before to find Voldemort and Lizzie still inside the room (the latter being still unconscious or whatever). Lyssa walked in the room, causing Voldemort to look at her. "My lord forgive me if the following request is too forward but," she said, internally cringing, but she didn't need to piss him off even more than what she was about to say probably would. "Cassie told me that you have Lizzie here. I know that you probably don't want to the two around each other, but honestly what can Lizzie do? She's a Muggle, and Cassie cares to much about her to do anything that would displease you. It would be overly cruel to keep the two separate, plus, it would do good on your image to her if you showed some semblance of kindness. She may obey more easily." Lyssa knew she was lying through her teeth on that last bit, but she was trying.

Voldemort laughed his cold merciless laugh at the teenager standing in front of him. Cruel was what he strived on, who would take a Dark Lord serious if they found out he had shown some compassion to a rebellous teenage girl. He was a Dark Lord, intent on shattering the world to ruins, why would he care if some Gryffindor brat hated him more then she already did. He could see the look in her eye when she looked at him, he didn't need legimency to tell him that she loathed him and wished that he would die a very painful death. "No," He said. "That would show her that she can get her way, which in turn will make her moer defiant."

Lyssa just looked at him, not even swayed by the way he had responded. She'd expected it. "Well," she said. "I had to try, didn't I? She's my best friend. It's only right. But then, you wouldn't know about that. All you have a followers. They're only around because they're afraid of you. If not for fear, you would have nothing."

Voldemort laughed again. "Love is for fools," He said getting bored of the Malfoy girl. "You saw what it did to your friend there." He was refering to the fact that her love for her sister caused her do something that she didn't want to do, he could see that she didn't fear for her life but she cared for the ones of the people around her. Like Potter did. Potter had. As he was dead now.

"Yeah, I saw. It made her into someone that isn't a monster. It made her someone willing to tear herself apart inside to protect the people dearest to her. It made her a strong person because she can do something you can never do," Lyssa replied. "Love made her into an amazing person, something you can never be because you don't know how to. Not loving people makes you weak. It prevents you from having someone to drive you on. Not loving anything makes you an inhuman monster who is destined to die, cold and alone."

Voldemort looked down at the girl in front of him. On the other side of the room the Evans girl jolted slightly, some effect of the sleep that she was in, or an afterefect of the spasms from earlier. Voldemort turned his wand on the Malfoy girl and for the secind time in under an hour someone was on the floor because of the effects of Crucio.

Lyssa clenched her eyes shut in the pain of the curse, but she didn't make a sound from it. That would just give Voldemort satisfaction. And in doing this, really he was just proving her point and quite nicely at that.

Voldemort flicked his wand, causing the spell to stop and he sauntered out of the room flicking his wand causing the Evans girl to float off behind him.

Upstairs Cassie was oblivious to what was going on downstairs, she was still in a distraught mood and would have very much liked to go and tell Voldemort exactly what she thought of him. Which would have ended her life and her sisters. Cassie threw a pretty vase that was on a table into the wall, getting a slight satisfaction as the glass crashed ricocheting off the walls scattering across her room.

Once the spell was lifted, Lyssa's eyes reopened and she blinked dazedly. She pushed herself back on her feet. That had most definitely proved her point. She walked over to a couch situated in the room and flopped back on it, not wanting to deal with the stairs at the moment. Stupid mother effing bastard.

Cassie looked at the mess she had made of the glass and then shrugged, not really caring. Anyway it added a new dimension to the room. She lay down on the bed and shut her eyes, but opened them moments later. Pictures of what had just happened flashed across the underside of her eyelids and Cassie sighed looking up at the roof.

Lyssa ended up falling asleep on the couch, despite her being in a position that would be uncomfortable to sleep in. She ended up waking up again when she rolled off the couch, which hurt quite a bit. She cursed and got up again, this time walking to the stairs to go to her room.

Cassie barely slept and the little she did, her dreams were plagued with nightmares which woke her up. The next morning she was exhusted but couldn't sleep, she wondered what Dean was thinking about her, probably that she was some evil Death Eater now or something. Cassie put her foot down on the carpet only to quickly draw it off moments later. She had forgotten about the broken vase that littered the floor.
