In Another Life

"No," Cassie said in reponce to Lyssa because she just knew the other girl had won. "That does not mean you won, it means that I have better things to do then squabble with you because you are undoubtably wrong."

"I'm not wrong," Lyssa said, "because you've given no proof to support your side of things and I have for mine." Then she folded her arms across her chest, still leaned back on her desk. "Defend yourself and all those other worthless witches and wizards all you want. You're still wrong."

"Go ask Claudie and Hermione how many O's they got in their owls if you want Proof." Cassie said wondering how someone could be so stupid. "I really don't see what your problem is, Im not saying your enept at magic im just saying that we can be good at it as well." She shrugged. "Magic is rather stupid if you ask me." She added as an afterthought, still spinning her wand about the table.

Lyssa just sort of shrugged. "I don't care how many Os they got. I care about how much they had to study to get those Os."

"And you didn't study in the time coming up for your owls?" Cassie glanced a look at Claudia who somehow knew she was looking at her and turned around and rolled her eyes. "Is that directed at me or her?" Cassie wanted to know. "Both of you, you're both being ridicolous."

"Ch, barely," Lyssa responded to the question that was aimed at her. Then Lyssa looked over at the girl's friend. "I am not ridiculous," she said.

Claudia looked at her. "Yes." She said. "You are. Both of you are stubborn as mules and are complete oposites so your not going to conwinve their other who is right, and well it doesn't actually matter whose right and wrong does it? Because you're both going to disagree either way which debatings about it pointless and ridicolous."

Lyssa's eyebrows pulled together. "That made absolutely no sense whatsoever," she said to the girl. The arguing would have persisted, had the class not ended then. The students gathered their things together, somewhat shocked that they hadn't been assigned a mound of homework this class.

"Ridicolous," Claudia muttered again as they walked out of the classroom. "I'll see you later Cass," She said heading off to some other class. Casie nodded and made her way down to Herbology, while she didn't like the class an awful lot if she wanted o be a healer she needed it.

After Transfiguration, Lyssa had Anciet Runes. Both Blaise and Draco had opted out of the class, but Amara was in it, so at Lyssa would have someone to talk to.

Cassie came out of Herbology in a cheerful mood even if she had dirt through her hair and under her fingernails her mood had improved somewhat and she went off to lunch better then she had been feeling in the morning.

Ancient Runes went well enough, although they had gotten assigned a page of translations to do before the next class. Lyssa walked to lunch in a relatively good mood that day.

"I think you ned to wash you hair," Claudia said as she sat down at lunch, looking at Cassie's dirt striken hair. "I'll deal." Cassie replied. "And your hands." Claudia added as an afterthought. Cassie rolled her eyes at her freind. "I'm hungry," She whined. "I do not have the patience to trug up stairs and back down before I eat."

Lunch was an uneventful event, Lyssa chatting and talking like she normally would, rather than grumbling about the homework load they had. It was only the second day and that conversation shouldn't have already happened, although it had. DADA was after lunch, so the same people who were scrambling to finish their Transfig essay that morning were now frantic to finish Snape's essays.

Cassie made a face as the two girls made their way to Defence, she did not like Snape. Not at all. Herbology had improved her mood but she could tell that in defence it was going to plunder. "You really should get the dirt out of your hair and hands." Claudia said again. Cassie ignored her sitting down in her seat. "I don't care." Sh said when Claudie opened her mouth again.

Lyssa double checked her bag to make sure she had her essays, before getting up to go to DADA with her brother, Blaise, and Amara. They walked down the hallways and up the stairs in silence, aside from an ocassional comment and some responses. They weren't really big on talking ,this group.

Snape entered the room and collected thier essays with a flick of his wand. They landed neatly on his desk. "Read pages 72-84," He instructed them and Cassie knew the next words were coming before they did. "And write a foot length essay on it to be turned in at the end of class." Cassie groaned flipping her book open and muttering darkly under her breath.

Lyssa frowned at the thought of doing basically the same assignment as the class period before, only with different material this time. She leaned her head on her hand as she read over the pages, a frown on her face.

Cassie was in a sour mood by the time she handed in her assigment, and her mood did not improve when Professor Snape set their homework. They had to read abnother assortment of pages and write two essays. She sent him a Death Glare before she walked out of the classroom.

Lyssa was in a rather unpleasant mood once she had finished her essay for the class period. She usually didn't mind Snape, but these first two lessons were so brutal that she was reconsidering things. She handed in her essay, frowning as two more were assigned. That entire class left the room at the bell in a sour mood for Charms.

Charms was great after defence, they had to hand in their assingments and then worked on owl spells from the previous year. Which Cassie wasn't that bad with. She was thankful that they weren't given any homework because they had been given enough. Cassie frowned on her way to dinner as they had astronomy that night, she didn't mind the class but she did like sleeping.

The remaining class of the day before dinner breezed by for Lyssa, and all she had to do that night for homework was Snape's essays. And then go to Astronomy, which overall wasn't a bad class, and she enjoyed it.

Cassie set to work on Snape's essays which were due the next day. With the help of Claudie and stealing answers off Hermione it was done faster then it would have if Cassie had just done it on her own. She packed up her work and noted that they didn't have very long before they ahd to go to Astronomy.

Blaise helped the Malfoy twins with their essays after dinner was over, and the three finished them quickly. Draco set off to bed, having opted out of Astronomy, while Lyssa and Blaise headed for the tower for class.

Cassie and Claudia set off to Astronomy. Cassie yawning slightly, she was still kind of tired and would have much rathered gone to bed than to have needed to go up to Astronomy. Scowling annoyed they got to their classroom and set up theri telescopes.
