Nicole flinched a little as Cassie slammed the door. Then she got up from the chair she was sitting in. "Laur, I'll be in your room, okay?" she said, and then without a response she left the kitchen going to Laurie's room. In the room, she sat on the bed and rested her chin on her palms with a sigh. It wasn't her fault, and she'd dealt with this too many times already. She didn't want to deal with it again.

Laurie nodded and continued picking at her sandwhich. A little while later after having eaten a total of nothing she went to her bedroom, entering it she sat down on the edge of the bed. "You okay?" Laurie asked her quietly. "I'm sorry about Mum. I have no idea what caused that. She just went balistic."

Nicole nodded at Laurie. "I'm fine," she said. "I'm actually used to it. A lot of people are still sore at my family about their involvement in the two wars. Most of the older people can't see passed a name. And they're also still somewhat sore about houses, so I'm sunk in two boats really."

"I dunno," Laurie said with a slight shrug. "I don't think it was just your family's involvement in the war. From the way mum was acting I think she actual knew your mum and something happened." Laurie sighed. "Cause generally Mum doesn't judge based on those things." She shrugged slightly.

Nicole shrugged. "You know what," she said, perking up suddenly. "I'm going to ask her. Although, that's likely to get my head bitten off or something. But it's something I have to know, you know?"

Laurie frowned. "I really don't recomend that." She said. "Mum has a really bad temper, which seems worse then usual."

"I don't bloody care," Nicole replied. "Any idea where she might be right now?"

"Probably in the locked room," Laurie said nervously, she did not want another shouting escapade from her mother. One was really enough for a life time, but it seemed that Nicole was just going to do it anyway whether it was a good idea or not.

"Right," Nicole said nodding and getting up from the bed. She walked out and door to the supposed locked room. Then she turned the knob; it was unlocked now. She opened the door slowly, seeing Cassie inside.

Laurie flitted behind anxiously. Cassie heard the door open behind her and spun around, seeing Nicole standing at the door and Laurie standing anxiously behind. "What?" Cassie snapped, she did not care if she was being rude and she also did not want anyone in the room, it held most of her Hogwarts stuff and recolections of both the kids fathers and a few of Lyssa.

Nicole was not phased by Cassie's tone. "I want to know why you hate my mother," she said. "And why it carries over to me, even though I haven't done a single thing. And I'm not moving from this spot until you tell me."

Cassie scowled, she did not want to tell literally her life story to a twice year old. She also didn't care if she was acting like a sulky child. She was not in the mood to be bossed around by someone who was around a third of her age.

Nicole frowned at Cassie's silence. "Please," she said. "I need to know. I want to know why I'm being hated for nothing that I've done. I want to understand things."

"Alright," Cassie snapped "fine. When I was your age, I became best freinds with your mother. Whom I really cared for. That feeling was apparently not returned and she just used me so she had someone to fall back on if things messed up." Cassie hadn't told this to anyone, it it seemed odd to be telling it to two children. "Seventh year is where this story get's brutal. She Cruioed me, started to ignore me and the one time I needed to fall back on someone wasn't there." Cassie was actually nearly crying by now but was taking great effort to stop herself. "She's the reason I was taken captive by Death Eaters, nearly got tortured to death and why my family is dead. I had to chose between them getting killed or killing Lyssa." Cassie swallowed, she felt slightly detached in a way.

Nicole just sort of stared at Cassie for a moment, hand coming up to cover her mouth. Her mum had done all of that? She couldn't bring herself to believe, but Cassie had no reason to lie, so it had to be true. "Je suis desole," she muttered softly.

"I don't fucking speak french," Cassie muttered.She actually did not like it when people said things in french to her, whether they meant to or not. It really pissed her off. "Lyssa used to do that," Cassie muttered softly that she barely heard it. She ran a hand through her hair with a sigh.

"Sorry," Nic said quickly. "I just did it because it didn't seem proper to say in English....and I sort of picked it up from....my mum..." Nicole looked down at the floor, frowning and still processing Cassie's story.

Cassie stared at the wall, bringing her knee's up to her chest. "You look like her," Cassie said softly playing with a strand of her hair. "It's really just too much for me." Laurie sat there quietly, watching her mother. Shocked at what she had gone through. She didn't know what to say though, so she kept quiet. Just watching.

"I'm sorry," Nicole said again. "I can't change what I look like. Trust me, though, I would if I could. I'm sick of being judged for it. I didn't choose to be me, it just happened that way. And I'm sorry that you and so many other people can't see passed what happened."

Cassie shrugged, fiddleing with the bracelet on her wrist. She had too many memories of when she was younger, a lot more of them seemed to be bad instead of good, but that might have had something to do with the fact that through allthe bad times she just couldn't remember the good. "I think we should leave her for a bit," Laurie whispered softly to Nicole.

Nicole shrugged at Laurie. "I think I should just go home," she said voice wavering as somewhat belated tears sprang up in her eyes. "All I'm doing here is causing pain." But she didn't move, just looked at the floor.

"You can stay if you want to," Cassie muttered. "It's about time I dealt with it anyway." She shrugged. The girl was Laurie's freind and she had to trust her judgement but at the same time Cassie had trusted Lyssa and look what happened to her.

Nicole wasn't quite sure how to respond to that. She looked at Cassie, blinking back her tears. "But, I don't want to cause you pain by being around. You've been through enough of that already," she muttered.

"I can deal with it." Cassie said. Then she rolled her eyes at herself. "I'm meant to be being the adult here." She stood up brushing at her eyes. "Alright girls, come on. Out of the room. Laurie, feel lucky, cause you won't be in here again."

"Before we leave..." Nicole started. Then she stopped wondering what she was meant to call Cassie. "Er...Ms. Laurie's mum," that would have to work until she found out. "Can I give you a hug? I sort of feel like it would be appropriate."
