Cassie looked at her for a moment. "You can call me Cassie kid, and I guess so." Cassie stepped over to where the girl was and hugged her for a moment. Tears welled up in her eyes because the girl reminded her of Lyssa. Even if they didn't act the same.

Nicole hugged Cassie for a moment. Then she looked at the floor. "I'm sorry for my mum, since she probably never said it to you. And if you think I'm just going to call you Cassie you are mistaken. Miss Cassie is going to be the closet I'll ever get. Calling adults by their names is just weird."

Cassie laughed slightly. "If you insist, but being called Miss something by someone who isn't a teacher is odd." Cassie shooed the two girls out of the room and then brought out the key locking it behind her. She didn't really want the kids in there. her room was her place, where no-one else could get into.

Nicole shrugged. "It's not my fault those teachers can't bother learning first names. Would it really be so hard to say "Nicole' instead of 'Miss Malfoy' all the time? It's longer. They should save themselves the breath and use it for something else. And with all the Weasleys things just get confusing."

"They used first names at my primary school," Cassie said with a slight shrug, walking off to the kitchen to get herself a drink of some sort. She settled for tea, putting the kettle on and rumaging through the cardboards till she found the tea bags.

"I'm glad that all of that is settled now," Nicole said to Laurie as the two went back to Laurie's room.

A few days went by mostly smooth, which overall was a good thing, but Nicole had forgotten her mum wanted her to write and that her mum would show up personally if she didn't. Such a thing occurred while they were all in the kitchen. Nic saw her Apparate to just outside the yard. Nicole bit her lip, but not saying anything.

Cassie heard the doorbell rang, she sighed putting down her cup and getting up to answer it. "I'll get it!"She heard Severus yell, the little boy nearly knocked her over on his way to the door. Cassie smiled. Severus frowned, trying to reach the handle forthe door. "Here," Cassie said picking him up. Severus smiled and turned the handle, it took him a little while, and swung open the door. Cassie was lucky Sev was holding the door because otherwise it would have swung shut. Her eyes narrowed at Lyssa, who the last time she had seen had been twenty or so years ago after Cassie had punched her in quite a few places.

Lyssa was quite surprised to see who had opened the door. She hadn't known her daughter was staying with, just that she was at a friend's. "My daughter is here?" she asked, eyebrow raising slightly.

"She is," Cassie said trying to keep her voice even. "Ow, Mum," Severus exclaimed. "You gripping too hard." Cassie frowned and loosened her grip on her son. "Sorry kid." Cassie stood back from the door. "Want to come in?" Cassie asked wanting nothing more then to slam the door in her face. Severus struggled and Cassie put him down on the ground.

Lyssa took note of an awkward, tense feeling in the atmosphere before replying. "I suppose so, although I only came here to see Nicole, since she seems to have forgotten about her promise to write me."

"Severus go get the girls," Cassie told the boy standing next to her. Severus nodded and headed off down the hall at a run. "And don't run you'll knock something over. Again." Cassie shut the door behind Lyssa, she felt somewhat awkward and didn't really want to be anywhere near the person standing half a meter away from her.

Lyssa stood in the hallway, feeling quite awkward. This was the last thing she ever expected to have happen. When Nicole came walking in from wherever she had been she looked at her mum sheepishly. "Sorry, forgot to write, didn't I?" she said. Lyssa nodded. "And you also neglected to tell just who you were staying with," Lyssa said, frowning slightly. "Would you have let me come if I had told you?" Nic asked. To which Lyssa replied, "No, probably not."

"And here we go again," Laurie muttered under her breath watching Cassie liked a bomb that was about to go off, as she had a feeling was going to happen sometime soon. Cassie narrowed her eyes slightly at Lyssa. "Don't see what your problem is." She said. "I wouldn't hurt her."

Lyssa's eyebrow raised. "If I'm not mistaken, you're the only that was always known for your random outbursts of violence. And if I'm not mistaken again, the last time I saw you before you were hitting me. So excuse me if I'm skeptical."

Cassie narrowed her eyes. "I wouldn't hit children," She snapped at her. Which was true, Cassie attacted the walls when she got angry, which was why a few of the walls had dints. As these walls weren't as strong at the ones at her house when she was a child or the walls atHogwarts which were stone. "And you deserved what you got."

"That's just your opinion. My opinion differs. I think it made you a bit of a hypocrite," Lyssa said. Nicole was standing by Laurie, watching the two adults worriedly. She hoped things wouldn't blow up, because from what she'd learned from Cassie they very much could.

"Oh?" Cassie asked her eyes darkening. "How so?" Laurie thought it might be wise to go into a different room away from the parents but she didn't move. Though she did grab her brother and pull him back some just in case something happened.

"Well, let's see," Lyssa said looking thoughtful. "You went on and on and on about how I was hurting people and whatnot and then you go and very nearly beat me up. Does that not fall under hurting people, Cassie dear? Or an I merely insane?" Nicole wasn't sure what to make of this. She had never seen her mum acting like that before.

"You didn't have a reason to hurt anybody," Cassie snapped at her, trying to keep a hold of her temper. The last thing she wanted to do right then was lose it. "I think I did and anyway, by then you should have known that I lash out at people who hurt me."

Lyssa sighed momentarily, then looked over at the children who were watching the two of them argue. They looked sort of alarmed at the two of them. Then Nicole spoke up, though it wasn't really her place. "Would you two just stop?" she said. " You both win and you both lose. That's how it is, because people have different opinions of things. So let the freaking bygones be bygones. You are letting something stupid take over you, and I find that bloody ridiculous."

Cassie frowned at the girl as she spoke up, slightly surprised. Though it was the kind of thing she did at that age, when the parents shout, shout at them. "I can't just forget it," She muttered bitterly.She would have liked to, but it wasn't going to happen, even after twenty or so years.

"You don't have to forget anything. You just have to moved passed it," Nicole suggested. Then she turned to the other two kids and the three of them left their parents to handle things, Nicole hoping that maybe she'd said something that would keep them from hurting each other any.

"Right, move past it?" Cassie snorted. "Like that's going to ever happen."

"Well you're the one holding onto things like a child," Lyssa commented. "I'm well over it."

"Course you are, nothing really happened to you, so it wasn't that much that have to get over."
