Laurie smiled slightly. "THought you'd forgotten me for a moment there." She said, it was weird talking to girl as she hand't since they were twelve and Nicole had gotten kidnapped.

"I had forgotten you," Nicole replied, not bothering to lie. She'd developed a habit to tell the truth no matter how awful it was.

"Charming," Laurie said feeling a little hurt that the girl had forgotten her when they had been quite good freinds for their first year at school.

Nicole shrugged at the other girl, then turned to walk away, seeing as she didn't care to talk.

Laurie looked at her as she walked off. "Alright,"She muttered. "Sure, havn't seen you in half a decade just walk of. I don't mind."

Nic turned back around to look at Laurie. "That's exactly the point. It's been five years. People change. A lot." She shrugged again, but didn't move since she figured the other girl would say something.

"We'll I'd still like to talk to the person who used to be one of my best freinds."

Nicole shrugged at her again. "Too bad for you, I don't have time to talk. Unless of course I plan to have someone out looking for me...which I don't really."

"Who'd be looking for you?"

"Probably a Death Eater," Nicole answered. "Maybe Vena..." She stopped letting Laurie process that bit of information.

Laurie blinked slightly. "You're still with the Death Eaters?" She asked. And frowned. "Vena?"

"Yes, I am. Have been for five years now. Stupid pack of idiots if I ever saw one," Nicole said. "And Vena's....well she's been like my personal teacher I suppose I could call her, since she's the one that's been teaching me things..."

"Sorry," Laurie said running a hand through her curls. "It was mostly my fault you were taken.." She kicked at the ground.

Nicole shrugged. "It's not so bad really. I've learned a ton of things I wouldn't have at Hogwarts."

"Mum pulled me out of Hogwarts." Laurie said, she was still annoyed at her mother for doing that. She had been fine at Hogwarts and her classes had been going well. Now she'd just end up flunking everything and failing exams.

Nicole raised an eyebrow. "Why?"

"Something about Voldemort taking over the world and some other crap along those lines. I only heard half of it as I seem to tune out when I'm really angry." She shrugged.

"So, she took you out because of Voldemort?" Nicole asked, just to clarify things. Her mind refused to wrap around how that was logical.

"Pretty much, Sev didn't get to go to Hogwarts either." Laurie rolled her eyes. "I think it's more because she wished her family hadn't let her go to Hogwarts when Voldemort was at large." Laurie sighed at her mother. She really was annoying sometimes.

"That's really quite odd," Nicole muttered.

"Yeah," Laurie said. "Laurie Evans." Laurie swore spinning around to face her mother who was standing there looking rather put off. "Where have you been?" "Walking?" Laurie suggested narrowing her eyes. "And talking." She gestured to Nic, who Cassie hadn't noticed. Cassie blinked for a moment. "Nicole?" She asked somewhat doubtfully.

Nicole nodded without saying anything. "Yup." Then she caught something in the corner of her eye. Nicole frowned. "I should probably go now....My so called 'retriever' is here. I've been gone too long."

"Why don't you just go home Nic?" Laurie asked her.

"As far as I'm concerned, my home is..." She made a vague gesture with her hand, not wanting to say exactly where. Laurie should be able to figure it out either way.

"What about your mum though Nic?"

Vena grumbled walking down the street. "If he sends me to collect you one more time. I am going to kill him. And you while I'm at it." She said standing next to Nicole. She glanced at the girl she was talking to and what looked like her mother a few steps behind but payed them no furthur notice.
