"Why shouldn't I?" Lyssa asked softly.

Cassie shrugged, her eyes on the glass. "Cause I'm not here to fight?"

"Then why are you here?"

"I don't know, cause I owe you that much? You saved my life."

"And you returned that favor not a moment later. So does that really matter any?"

"It does to me."

"Go on," Lyssa said, surprised with how calm she was being, although her hand was still wrapped around the glass.

Cassie was still looking at the glass, because she would rather not have it thrown at her. Glass was not a good thing to have thrown at you. "When, when I call people my best freind I don't, I don't do it lightly. Whatever it seems. Because I'm the person who'll be there for that person, and I don't see the point of being there if I don't care for them." Cassie took a step forward further into the room. "I didn't become freinds with you because I knew you'd be there for me, I did it because you made me smile, and you made me laugh. Even if you weren't there if my worst times, you were in my best. Which counts for something at least."

"And it also completely contradicts what you said the other day."

"Yeah well, the universe doesn't like what I said the other day. You know me, I say something and I'll see it through, even if at the end I turn around and go back to the beginning."

"So, what does that mean?"

"I don't know," Cassie said with a sigh. "I'm giving you one more chance, just one, and if you blow that I am walking out and not coming back."

Lyssa just stared at Cassie for a moment. "You're...what?"

"You heard me, you're getting one more chance, and that's it."

Lyss didn't really know what to do. So, she just sat there and stared at Cassie. "Can I like hug you or something? I feel like it's appropriate," Lyssa said, speaking finally.

"If you want," Cassie said.

Lyssa nodded and moved to get up from the couch, wincing as both of her knees protested any movement. They were both skinned and bruised from her falling down the other day. Draco had told her he could bring over something to heal them, but she'd thrown a book at him and yelled at him to leave. Eventually, she was on her feet and limping her way to where Cassie was standing. But, instead of hugging her as was planned, Lyssa just stopped in front of her. "I don't deserve your friendship," she whispered before finally hugging Cass.

Cassie hugged Lyssa for a moment, not saying anything. She wasn't quite sure what to say to that anyway.

A moment later Lyssa took a step back, stumbling a little at the pain in her knees, but caught herself. "So does that mean you're coming back here, or staying wherever you went off?"

"I'll probably stay at me place for a bit," Cassie said.

Lyssa nodded. "Makes sense..." she muttered. "I feel ridiculous for asking you this, but I also feel like I should." Lyssa stopped for a moment. "How do I KEEP this chance? Because, I really don't want to lose it."

"Stop using those terms for muggle borns and that I don't like, and acting in the way that magic makes you better." Cassie said some other things that I can't think of right now.

Lyssa nodded at each thing Cassie said. "Suppose I should also apologize to Sam and Liz...What I said that day was quite uncalled for..."

"If you want to risk getting your head chopped off,"

"Well, if I were to ever want to go over there without that risk I should."
