I Don't Play Your Rules, I Make My Own

Once there, Lyssa bit her lip and looked at Voldemort nervously.

Cassie wanted to juts go home.

Lyssa jumped a little when Voldemort talked. "I told you to be careful in not proving your disloyalty to me if you did not want to face the consequences," he said. "Now, Little Malfoy, did you not think that the news of your refusal to help would get back to me?" Lyssa continued to bite her lip, not speaking as that would probably only land her deeper.

Cassie was actually somewhat wondering why she was here. As far as she was aware, she'd been doing what she was told. For once.

"And, Evans," he said, turning his attention to Cassie. "Did you not think I wouldn't hear of your hesitancy to do harm?"

And that, Cassie thought. Is why I'm here. She gave him an annoyed expression. Of course she didn't want to harm. Only fricken physopaths did.

"Now, what to do with the two of you," Voldemort muttered, seemingly to himself. "Evans," he said a moment later, addressing Cassie, "when I name a spell I want you to perform it without hesitancy and aimed at Little Malfoy over there. If you hesitate I will punish you."

Lyssa had long since gone pale. Voldemort had a creative streak.

Cassie's eyes widened as she looked at Voldemort. She didn't want to do something to Lyssa, but she would have to, unless she wanted to be punished. But she couldn't. She bit her lip and nodded slowly.

"Excellent," Voldemort muttered to himself. Then he looked at Cassie again and quite without warning he said, "Diffindo."

Cassie bit her lip and raised her wand at Lyss, casting the spell.

Lyssa only winced as the spell hit her.

Voldemort ordered it about five more times after that as well. Then he switched to Deprimo.

Cassie hated herself for what she was doing, she had no clue what the hell that spell did, but she cast it anyway. Shutting her eyes so she didn't have to look.

Lyssa's eyes went wide for a moment as something started to press down on her, until her knees hit the floor painfully. "Cassie! Let up on it!" she cried.

Cassie stopped the spell, wanting to throw her wand into a wall or something.

After that was Flagrate.

Cassie's hand shook, she wouldn't have been surprised if she missed Lyssa all up. But, alas, she didn't.

By that time Lyssa couldn't even stand up.

Voldemort spoke again. "Now, for the last spell." And then he told Cassie, because I'm not typing the name.

"I-I can't," Cassie said shaking. "You-you need to mean it.."

"Then you had best try to mean it," Voldemort hissed.

Cassie was shaking, and something happenedand she managed it. Wincing as she did so.

Lyssa, who was already in enough pain, enough actually gave a cry at the curse this time instead of her normal silence.

After a few minutes, to the point where the pain had nearly made Lyssa pass out, Voldemort called it off.

Cassie ended the spell, swallowing. Looking at Voldemort and waiting to be dismissed. She wanted to get out of there.

Voldemort dismissed the two with a final "If you ever do {insert thing} again, expect worse" before leaving the room.

Cassie glared at him as he walked over, she walked over to Lyssa and helped the girl stand. Once he was no longer in the room what had happened sort of clicked in her mind. "Oh god," She said. "Sorry!"

Even with Cassie's help to get up, Lyssa was back on the floor a moment later, unable to stand. "Do not bloody apologize to me," Lyssa snapped. "You had to mean that last spell, so why the fuck did it work?"
