I'm Guessing You Can't Always Win

Taylor quickly side-stepped out of the way of a spell. Which, she was guessing, was not going to be pleasant. She turned on her foot throwing her arm over her shouder, turning her head in that direction and sending a spell at a Death Eater. And missing. She frowned, deflecting another spell that had nearly hit her, she wasn't the most apt dueler, and wished that she didn't need to take part in the duels. But she had to. Spells were flying everywhere as Order members fought the Death Eaters, it was hard to tell which side was winning. It seemed pretty equal.

Lani, who had never been bad or good at dueling, dodged gracefully around a spell that was aimed her way and fired one back just as quickly as she came out of her dancer-like turn. There was fighting all around her, and, were it not for her side wearing a particular outfit, she wouldn't have been able to tell one side from the other. She had long since abandoned trying to be secretive about her second occupation, the first being a librarian at the largest magical library in London just for fun, so her long blonde hair twirled around with her and she found herself face to face with an old classmate.

Taylor sidestepped another spell, sending one at the Death Eater, whom she faintly recognised. But in the middle of dueling didn't have the time to stop and see if she could place the face. Most probably it was someone for Hogwarts. She neatly deflected a spell sending one back. The next time I spell came her way, she lost her balance and had to do some sort of tumble roll to get up without having to stop. Though she was facing the wrong way from the person she was facing when she was up again, she turned around again.

Lani pushed her hair from her face with one hand, and cast spells with the other, smirking when her opponent -if only she could recall a name, that would be some fun taunting- tumbled back. Then the name came to mind. "My my, Taylor, tad clumsy there aren't you?" Lani said with a sideways smirk.

"Not as bad as it could be," Taylor replied with a slight eyeroll. She was having a blank at the girl's name, but that didn't matter right now. What did names and that matter when dueling? She had to duck as a spell whizzed by over her head, from someone dueling elsewhere, whether it came from another Death Eater or some order member Tay did not know.

"True," Lani quipped with another quick smirk. She was having fun for the first time in weeks. It wasn't often that she got the chance to exchange comments with an enemy. She twirled her wand deftly between her fingers and fired a spell, aiming for Taylor's feet in an attempt to knock her completely down.

The spell hit Tay and she stumbled and hit the ground with a bang. Her arms out in front of her to protect her head from hitting the ground. "Ow," She exclaimed her forarms hitting hard into the ground. She suddenly rolled, incase a spell came her way trying to somehow get onto her feet without stopping moving.

Lani frowned at Taylor's rolling. "Uh uh uh," she said, creating a barrier to stop Taylor from going to direction she was. "Don't make me box you completely in. That wouldn't be at all pleasant you," she taunted.

"You could do a triangle, they are much more interesting than squares." Taylor said, she rolled again, pushed off her arm and pulled herself up. Turning again to stop herself from falling, for some reason she was having balance issue's that day.

Lani made a face. "Nah," she muttered, making four more invisible walls appear, creating a pentagon. "Now, pentagons are interesting. And larger than triangles. You can thank me for the extra elbow space now."

"I'm not really that fond of shapes to be honest," Taylor said sending a spell at the girl.

Lani raised an eyebrow, smirking appearing as the walls around Taylor absorbed the spell she sent.

"Well, at least it didn't backfire. That would have been bad," Taylor turned her wand about her hand, wondering what to do now. She hoped someone would come about behind and knock Lani -that was her name- unconious or something. That would have been useful.

Lani shrugged. "I could make it where the spell will shoot back from the walls at you, if you'd like."

Taylor rolled her eyes somewhat, wondering what to do. Not that she could do anything, she was stuck in a box. Well a box like thing.

Lani took a few steps toward the box. "Now what to do," she muttered to herself. "I could kill you, knock you out, or in some way injure you so you can't fight anymore. You pick."

"How about neither?" Taylor asked with fake enthusiasm.

"Sorry, not an option."

"Well you could make it one," Taylor asked, her eyes darting about.

"Not really, no. I'm a Death Eater. We don't DO neithers."

"Fine, I'll rephraze. d) None of the above. That's not a neither. It's an option now."

Lani scowled. "Do not play games with," she growled, easily ignited temper coming close. "Because you see," she cast a quick Diffindo spell, aimed at Taylor's face and hitting the mark, "my spells can get it, even if yours can't get out."

"Ow," Taylor said, scrunching her nose putting her hand over where she was hit. "That's hardly fair." She muttered.

Lani faked pouted. "I'm sorry to hear that it's not fair," she said, voice steeling over, "but I never said I played fair. Now pick. A, b, or c."

"Just knock the brat out," Regan said walking over to where Lani and some order member was. "We could use her to get info about the order." She rolled her eyes, it wasn't that hard.
