I'm Guessing You Can't Always Win

Taylor came back later. "Okay, Kalani. What's up?" She said watching the girl warily. Regan was actually sleeping, which amused Tay as she looked quite harmless sleeping.

Lani shook her head lightly. "It's nothing," she said.

"No it's not,"

"Yes, it is. Now shut up before I call you that word again."

"Which will really just make me keep going," Taylor said. "If you don't want to tell me fine, but I think and hey, maybe I'm wrong, but you're sick aren't you?"

Lani shrugged. "I'm not technically called sick until the fever starts. Which should be sometime around tomorrow morning."

"What's the problem?" Taylor asked her.

Lani shook her head, not willing to say any more on the subject.

"Kalani, if you don't tell me I won't be able to help."

"You couldn't help even if I did tell you."

"How come?"

"Because it involves me being home."

"How so?" Tay asked her.

"What I need to make it stop is at my home."

"I could get it?" Tay suggested with a slight shrug. "If you really need it."

"No one can get in without me letting them in."

"Well I don't know, cause the order won't let you out."

"I know. Which is why I didn't want to say anything about it to start with."

Taylor chewed on her lip. "I don't know," She said. "I can always talk to McGonagall or something."

"You don't have to. I'll be fine."

"From the look of it you won't be," Tay said.

"Just go away so I can try to get some sleep."

"Okay," Tay said getting up and walking out. She went to find McGonagall.

Lani closed her eyes and tried to sleep.

And Tay explained the situation to her.
