I'm Guessing You Can't Always Win

So Taylor said some things, few were the real truth. The others were partly truth and some lying. Because full out lying wouldn't work.

Lani frowned. "I think you're holding back. Honestly, I don't want to have to force you. Now, try again."

"It's all I know," Taylor said. "I've hardly been in the Order long, so they're not going to trust me with important stuff."

Lani twirled her wand between her fingers. "I don't call making excuses trying. You're not convincing me not to hex you."

"Well what do you want me to do? Make up lies to satisfy you? I've told you what I know, and I told you I didn't know much."

"I want you to stop lying, actually."

"I'm not lying."

"Ah ah, Taylor. You're lying again," Lani said with a smirk. "There's a Lie-Detecting spell on this room."

"And you're bluffing." Taylor replied. "I have a better idea," Regan said cutting in. "We torturethe brat until she gives us info, if she is telling the truth and she really has no info. Well we're going to kill her anyway so it's so big loss."

Lani bit her lip. "I guess so," she muttered, not really wanting to think about killing one of her former classmates for real. She hadn't found herself being actually serious previously.

"Hesitant there Kalani?" Regan asked cocking her head to the side. "You'd almost think you're feeling remorse." She smirked and turned to Taylor. "Okay kid, tell us what we need to know or you'll wish you had suffocated to death. Because, before was only a warm up." Taylor looked at her, she could tell that Regan wasn't bluffing as she turned her wand about her hand and pointed it straight at Taylor. "You'll be dying, but never, fully, dead." Taylor swallowed and looked down at her feet. "Fine," The girl muttered still looking at her feet. "Knew you'd see it my way." Regan said with a smirk.

"I'm not feeling any remorse," Lani said, eyes flaring angrily, while she pushed that exact feeling away.

"If you say so," Regan said smirking. "Okay Marice, speak up." She raised an eyebrow at her until the girl started talking.

"I say so" Lani muttered, not liking the smirk.

Taylor finished talking.

Lani fidgeted, looking at Regan.

Regan caught Lani's look and she smirked again. "What do you think Kalani? Is she telling the truth?" She raised an eyebrow.

"Um..." Lani muttered. "I dunno."

Regan snorted looking at Lani, and then back at Tay. "You sureee that's all you know?" Taylor nodded hastily. "Liar." "I'm no-" "You're a Ravenclaw of course you're hiding something." Regan waited a few moment and Taylor quietly said the last peice of infomation she knew. "Lovely," Reg said. She looked at Kali. "What we doing with her now?"

"I don't know."

"Don't you?" Regan asked raising an eyebrow. "What are we meant to do once people are no longer of use?" She smirked. Tay shrunk back into the wall.

"Reg, really," Lani muttered. "We don't HAVE to...."

"Sticking up for an order member are you know?" Regan asked titling her head to the side. Smirking more. She snorted. "What do you propose then?" She asked scornfully.

"I'm not sticking up for anyone. But, we could use her to get more information. Set up traps, and bait the Order with her to get more of them. Ones that might know more information."

Regan laughed. "Okay," She said with an amused smile. "We'll see what we can fish up using this brat."
