I'm Guessing You Can't Always Win

"So, what are you going to do then?"

"Dunno," Taylor said chewing into her apple again. "Sure I'll be able to think of something."

Lani just stared at her, not saying a word.

Taylor grinned at her, and her eyes flickered to Regan who hadn't said a word. "Whose smirking now?" She asked though she grinned again instead of smirking. Regan just raised her eyebrow at her.

"You're insane," Lani said. "Just figure out what you're doing and be done with it."

"I," Tay said reopening the door. "Am going to get you two food. Why you deserve it though, is beyond me." And she left the room.

Lani looked at the door after Taylor left. "She's mental, that one."

"Hm," Regan said. Taylor reentered the room soonish with food. She put it on the ground in front of the two girls, humming under her breath.

Lani just looked at the food.

Taylor continued to hum, sitting on the floor by the door watching the two girls staring at their food. Unsure of whether to eat.

"Why are you still in here?"

"Why not?" Taylor asked her, stopping humming just to say the two words because continueing.

"Because you have no reason to be."

"And why would that stop me?"

"Because otherwise it's just stupid. And it's making me quite suspicious."

"You'd be suspicious if I walked out, you'd be suspicious whatever I do. So it's not making much of a difference."

Lani just shrugged.

Taylor shrugged back.

And so they sat there for a few hours.

Tay had to be around if they ate, cause otherwise the potion would run out before she had the chance to ask questions.

At some point in those few hours, Lani's stomach got growly, but she wasn't going to give in first.

Tay read.

Lani looked over at Regan (who seems forgotten?), wondering how she was doing.

Regan was acting like not eating wasn't bothering her, but actually, she was pretty hungry.

"Regan," Lani said softly, using her tone to say they had to.
