"It's not a big deal, because I'm fine," Sirius snapped. "Now, calm the fuck down. This is why I didn't want to say anything in front of your mom."

James frowned, continuing to walk. He was still angry, but tried to calm himself down some. He sighed, looking at Sirius, before falling back down into the chair he was in. "Sirius," He said looking at him and then shrugged, not sure what he was saying. "You're not going back there," He said. "Ever. Okay?"

Sirius chuckled. "James, they disowned me when I walked out tonight," he said. "I couldn't go back there even if I wanted to."

"Yeah well," James ran his hand through his hair. "I don't know, Padfoot." He said. "Not thinking clearly I s'pose.

Sirius shrugged. "Anyway..." he muttered, "how long you think your parents might let me stay...?"

"Uhm," James said with a slight frown. "I dunno. A while probably. I mean. You have nowhere else to go. And you are my best mate."

"I guess so...I just don't want to become a bother...." Sirius muttered. "I mean...I could stay with Moony and Wormtail too if needed....More than sure Moony wouldn't mind... and Peter'd probably get so excited at a friend being over that he'd wet himself."

"You'd end up spending the hols reading if you went to Moony's," James said with an amused shake of his head. "Boring life that Moony has. Reading. I'm sure they won't mind. They'd be pretty cool with it." He shrugged.

"I wouldn't let Moony read the whole hols away."

"We should invite Moony over here at some point," James said. "He'd have to stop reading if he came over. Well. We'd make him anyway."

"Sounds like a plan to me," Sirius agreed. "Reading all the time can't be healthy anyway, seeing as you'd never get things like exercise or sunlight."

"Knowing Moony he probably reads while he walks," James shook his head. "I wonder what he'd do if he was banned from reading. He'd go mad."

"Why...why must you shoot down my thoughts all the time..." Sirius asked, pouting, feeling much more like his usual self now that the topic was a different one.

"Because your thoughts are ridiculous," James replied with a grin.

Sirius looked hurt. "They are not!"

"Well, some of them. You have moments of brilliance. Just very rare."

"If anyone's moment of brilliance are rare, they're yours. Just how many plans have you made to woo Evans that have failed miserably, and, in most cases, made her dislike you even more than she already does."

"Yeah well, I'll get her someday," he muttered. "And the rest of my plans are very good. Whereas yours aren't, you've nearly gotten us killed a few times Padfoot."

"Getting killed is exciting, Prongs, so please, don't go bashing on my ideas. You had fun those times, if I recall. Whereas, we hardly ever have as much fun with your idea," Sirius defended himself and his ideas.

Prongs stared at him. "I'd rather not die thanks, I'm too awesome too," he winked at Sirius.

"Your awesomeness will get you killed someday, Prongs. You'll piss someone off with it and then BAM they kill you dead," Sirius said with a laugh. "Just like a cockroach."

James wrinkled his nose. "Pfft, who'd hate me?" He asked cheerily.

"Evans," Sirius said raising his eyebrow in a smartass way. "Not even to kill you, I think, but I'm pretty sure she hates you."

James pouted at Sirius. "She doesn't hate me. She just won't admit that she likes me," he said with a self reassuring nod.

Sirius rolled his eyes with a tired yawn. "You just keep deluding yourself, buddy," he muttered, laying his head on his best friends shoulder like he was going to fall asleep there.
