Lucy and Lyall

Lucy smiled slightly. "Okay I see the point of it, but I don't like doing it." She pulled out her notebook she had gotten for her birthday a few years back and started drawing on one of the few blank pages that were left.

"It is rather tedious work, isn't it?" Lyall muttered, looking up from her book momentarily. Then looking back down at it she said, "I still want to know what you were thinking about earlier, since I'm somehow involved in it."

Lucy sighed and the two girls went to their dorm so that they couldn't be overheard by any passers by. "Well I was thinking about earlier and then wondering if Professor Lupin would be at class because he had been absent the last few days and while thinking about earlier it sort of just clicked." She made a odd hand gesture. "He's a werewolf too isnt he?"

Lyall blinked for a moment. "Um..." she muttered intelligently. "It's not really my place to answer that question." Even though that probably indirectly answered the question anyway. Lyall ran her hand through her hair for a moment, looking away.

Lucy shrugged slightly. "I know it's not," She sighed and picked up her book again before giving up on it as it was as boring as hell and dumped it onto her bed before rumaging through her suitcase to find another one, she emptied half her suitcase before she found her stash of books which was for some reason at the bottom of her bag instead of at the top which would have made them so much easier to find and she wouldn't need to waste her time looking for her books when they were in easy reach.

"Problems?" Lyall commented when Lucy started dumping things everywhere, obviously looking for something. She leaned back and looked at the ceiling. "Is it just me, or has today been really weird....?"

"Yeah," Lucy said finding the book she wanted to read and attempting to shove everything else back into her suitcase which it really didn't want to do, it seemed everything got bigger when you took it out of packaging and wouldn't fit back in when you wanted to store it away. "Yeah kind of has been slightly odd..." She sighed and gave up on shoving everything in and just plonked it on the top and sat back onto her bed with her book, it was a Muggle book that she was possotive her parents didn't know that she owned they probably wouldn't like the idea of her having it.

Lyall sat back up, getting out a book of her own to read, although this book was a textbook. It wouldn't do if she completely failed potions. That would just be sad. Especially since Snape was more fond of his house than that others (even though Lyall still doesn't like him).

The next few days were kind of awkward for the both Lucy and Lyall and they didn't really converse much, Professor Lupi noticed this during one Defence against the dark arts lesson and aksed both girls to stay behind at the end of class, Lucy frowned wondering what either of them had done wrong for the teacher to have wanted to talk to them after class. The bell rang and everyone but Lucy and Lyall left and Professor Lupin came and sat across from them. "Are you two okay?" He asked them his eyes searching. "You both seem on edge and don't talk much to each other or others. Lucy you are snapping at anyone who so much as asks what page we were meant to be on." He raised his eyebrow at her and Lucy frowned not realising she had been doing that.

Lyall sighed. "I'm always quiet, professor, you know that by now surely, so of course I'm not talking to others. And as for Lucy....well it's not everyday you figure out that one of your friends is a..." she trailed off, still not completely comfortable or capable of saying the word werewolf out loud. She could think it just fine, but saying it was different. It just made it seem more concrete, more of a reality. "So, as you can see, we're working past that just a bit..." She ran her hand through her hair.

Professor Lupin looked at Lucy curiously. "And Miss Prince how did you find this out?" Glancing at Lyall Lucy told Professor Lupin that she had noticed that Lyall was always sick on the full moon as she enjoyed Astronomy, he nodded and looked at her thoughtfully. "Professor Lupin?" Lucy asked tentetivly. "You're a werewolf too aren't you?" She bit her lip wondering if she was being rude. He nodded at the girl. "Yes Miss Prince I am, but don't go telling anyone that would probably end up in me having to leave." Lucy nodded. "I won't I promise," She swore. "You can both go to your next class girls and I'm sure it will end out well in the end."

Lyall nodded, her mind wrapping around what Lupin had said, about him probably be made to leave if word got out. Lyall decided that wasn't acceptable, as it was nice and it really helped her to have someone to talk to that understood completely and could help her out.

The two girls made their way to transfiguration with quite a grumpy Professor McGonagall who was wondering why they were so late, when they explained they were with Professor Lupin she nodded and gave them an odd look that Lucy couldn't really comprehend, she sat down and got out both her book and her wand that she had hastily shoved into her bag, the book at the beginging of the day and her wand as they left defence against the dark arts, they were on harder transfigurations now that Lucy understood but didn't particually like doing, it was kind of annoying and well boring.

Transfiguration was easy-ish to Lyall. She got it well enough and could usually do the spells with a little practice at them. Even the harder ones they had moved onto recently. She sort of couldn't wait for a couple years to do really hard stuff. Now that would be interesting.

After class the two girls made their way to the great hall for lunch, Lucy had a peanut butter sandwhich and some water as she couldn't be stuffed getting anything else to drink, she took a bite of her sandwhich and picked up a prophet that was on the table. Looking at the cover it still said that Sirius Black was on the loose, Lucy shrugged at it not really caring, sure he was appearently a mad man but it didn't really matter much to her. He was from a pureblood family, the Blacks, Lucy didn't like the Blacks an awful much but one of them Laci was alright. The majority of them seemed to be insane.

Lyall looked over as Lucy looked through the Prophet. "They're still going on about him? Merlin, the Ministry's incompetent. You'd think with as dangerous as they make him out to be they'd be more worried about finding him and less worried about putting him in the newspaper..."

Lucy laughed and nodded. "You have a point there. They really should spend more time in finding him then adveritsing his on the loose, I think everyone knows he's on the loose already," She shook her head and took a bite of her sandwhich thinking that the house elves hadn't put enough Peanut butter on her sandwhich but she shrugged and finished it off anyway because taking a handful of Potato chips. The Slytherin yawned slightly as she picked on the chips. "WHat class do we have now?" She asked Lyall and Lucy could never remember when she had which class.

"Um..." Lyall's mind momentarily blanked out and she was unable to answer. "History of Magic," she replied after a moment with a shake of her head. "That was weird."

"What was weird?" Lucy asked after nodding that they had historyof magic, now THAT was one boring class, a stupid ghost taught it and babbled on about stuff no-one really cared about, it was incredibly frustrating and she actaully prefered Herbology to History of Magic. "Bleh, History of magic." Once both girls had eaten their lunch they got up and made their way to the history of magic classroom. The bell rang not that much later and the teacher entered through the whiteboard which was kind of stupid in it's stupid way.

"I just completely spaced out for no apparent reason," Lyall explained. They walked to History of Magic, and Lyall yawned upon walking through the door to the classroom. "You think anyone's ever told him he's dead and should stop teaching?"

"That is kind of weird." Lucy agreed yawning slightly as the teacher started babbling about random junk that Lucy was sure he had said at least five times this year. "That would be usefu cause if we had a teacher that taught it in an interesting way I'm sure the class would be kind of interesting."

Lyall shrugged. "I don't think anything could make history interesting," she muttered as the professor droned on about something probably insignificant as was the usual. "I can't wait to get to fifth year, fail my OWL for this class and drop it."

Lucy shrugged. "I guess, I'm going to drop it. But I don't want to fail the exam. Though knowing me, I'm not going to study for anything so will probably end up failing it anyway." She shrugged, yawning quietly.
