Lucy and Lyall

Lucy laughed as Lyall rambled on. "Yes I did," She said with a smiling sitting up and throwing or well placing her bag onto her shoulder. "Well lets go find the classroom then." She said waiting for Lyall to get up, it took them about ten minutes to find it, it was in the dungeons and not that far from their common room.

"Sorry...I'm not good at talking to people...there....aren't any kids my age where I live..."Lyal said quietly as they got up to find the classroom. After they left the hall she said, " I heard someone say Potions is in the dungeons so it can't be far from the common room..."

"It's ok," Lucy said. "They only kids i've talked to are purebloods which gets tiring because they all go on about blood purity and other crap like that." She shrugged. They found the classroom and waited outside the door for the teacher to come, Lucy noticed that it was the person who she'd caught staring at her at the sorting last night. She frowned as he glanced at her again before walking into the classroom. Lucy and Lyall followed and took a seat in the middleish but closer to the back of the classroom.

The class started a short while later and was overall mostly boring. Nothing interesting happened and then the class was over. Lyall yawned as they walked out of the room, because it had been just that boring to her. "To our next class?"

Lucy didn't find potions that boring, she actaully enjoyed it, though as a kid she would steal whatever she could out of the kitchens and shove it into a bowl to see what it tasted like (horrible msot of the time) but the fact remained that she liked making things by putting other things in things. "Sure," She said. "What class is it?" It turned out of be Defence against the Dark Arts.

"Defense against the Dark Arts...." Lyall muttered. "Do you happen to know who teaches this one? Cause I didn't pay attention last night to find out." They walked up the stairs from the dungeons to go to the classs.

"Professor Lupin." Lucy said as they went to find that classroom. "He's a new teacher this year." She yawned slightly and brushed her hair out of her face, they found the classroom by following the rest of their house and met up with the Gryffindors.

Lyall nodded. "I see..." she muttered as they reached the door of the room. "Well this is two without getting lost. I'd say we're doing good for a couple first years." Professor Lupin opened the door to the room and let them in a moment later. With one look at him as she walked by with Lucy, Lyall knew he was just like her.

Lucy glanced at the defence against the dark arts Professor and nodded at him before going at sitting in the middle but closer to the front instead of the back this time.

Defense Against the Dark Arts was better than Potions, Lyall decided. At least it held her interest for more than a few seconds at a time. Professor Lupin seemed to know the topic well too (not saying Snape doesn't but he's weird and Lyall doesn't quite like him).

Lucy found defence against the dark arts an interesting subject, Professor Lupin seemed to know alot. She was enjoying the classes so far and hoped that the others would be interesting classes aswell. The bell rang and the girls went to break.

Lyall sort of wanted to hang back after class to talk to Professor Lupin about....well....she still didn't like even thinking the word, but Lucy pulled her along outside, where quite a few of the other students had wandered to as well. Guess no one liked being couped up in the castle for a while.

The rest of the day passed but Lucy still found Defence against the dark arts and Potions her favoutite classes, Herbology was kind of boring and Transfiguation was kind of hard, not that she didn't enjoy a challange it was just too hard.

Lyall liked all her classes after break mostly equal, with Defense Against the Dark Arts staying her favorite for the time being and Potions her least favorite. Although in her opinion if Potions got better even just a little it would beat out Herbology for second to last.

After dinner Lucy went down to the common room where Lyall went god knows where, as they had really only just met Lucy didn't want to ask her where she had gone. She went back to the common room and got a book out of her suitcase.

After dinner Lyall resolved herself to go talk to Professor Lupin as she had wanted to earlier, and this way there was also no next class to rush it along. She went to his office and knocked on the door, going in when he said to. They ended up talking for while, until Lupin sent Lyall back to her common room, since it was getting later and she had classes the next day, saying she could come talk to him again if she wanted. She walked back feeling slightly better since now she knew and could talk to another, older....werewolf, she forced herself to think the word, who obviously had more experience with it all than her. After all it had only been two years....

The first month or so passed kind of quickly and Lucy found herself getting into the swing of things, Potions and DADA still stayed her favourite and herbology her least favourite, charms was another interesting class.

Lyall's order of classes stayed the same, with Defense Against the Dark Arts first and Potions last with everything else in between. But her thought on class was slightly disrupted when she came to realize that the first full moon since she started school was coming up fast.

Another of Lucy's favourite classes was Astronomy as she liked stars and moons and the likes. "It's a full moon tonight," She said that morning as she ate her toast thinking of their last astromy class.

Lyall, who had been in the middle of taking a bite of her toast, looked at Lucy. "Really?" she asked, pretending she hasn't known this for at least a week already. Then she bit the toast and drank some milk after it, since even with butter on it it was still bleh.

Lucy caught an odd tone to the way Lyall said really but shrugged it off as unimportant. "Yeah," She said finishing her toast and looking at her freind who looked abit off. "Are you ok? You look a bit sick."

Lyall finished her bite of toast and looked over at Lucy. "Yeah," she said, "I'm fine." She tucked a portion of her bangs behind her ear wondering why she had to have the friend that noticed things.

Lucy nodded and went back to her breakfast. She liked eating toast for breakfast if one had nice things on the toast otherwise the toast tasted a tad odd and Lucy didn't like eating odd tasting toast.

Lyall finished eating her piece of toast and then drank the rest of her milk just in time for them to leave and be to class on time. "Ready to go?" she asked Lucy.

"Yep," Lucy replied having finished hr breakfast, she stood up and got her bag before following Lyall to Charms, one of Lucy's more prefered subjects.
