"I know you'll find out Sirius, you always dig your nose into everything until you get what you want or someone else gets it for you. And no, you're not made at James because he's been chasing a GIRL all this time hasn't he?" I widened my eyes as I realized what I said and quickly dove beneath my pillow. My whole body ached with the effort but I couldn't face him now. I'd rather him just go away then have to listen to how disgusted he was going to be with me. It wasn't fair; I was already different by being a werewolf. Why did I have to have something else wrong with me too?

And then it hit me. Remus liked guys. Instead of making fun of him like a real Marauder, I instead dicided to be a freind. "Moony, why would I ahte you for that? I have no..er problem with you er...liking guys." I fumbled with my tie for a few seconds. An awkward silence set off between us. "So...errr..." He looked around the room unsure of what preciecly to say. "..." I looked down at my werewolf freind. I wasn't one for awkward conversations, or akward silence I usaully burst the silence with random babble but now did not seem the time to.

I peeked up from the pillow to try to judge whether he was being honest or not. He looked really awkward and didn't seem to know what to do with hands or, for the first time probably in his whole life, his mouth. It was sort of funny, but I also knew how it felt to be so horribly anxious and I rolled over and looked at him. "Honest? You're not going to tell James and Peter and take the mickey out of me for it? I really wouldn't blame you if you did. I think it's terrible. It's kind of like my furry little problem: it's there, so I can't ignore it, but I don't want to tell everyone either." I wondered if, with a bomb this huge dropped on him, Sirius would forget that I actually fancied a specific person and not just an entire gender.

"I solemly swear I will not tell James or Peter or take the mickey out of you ok?" I said showing him my hands to show that my fingers weren't crossed. I smiled at him. "Now will you tell me, who the guy is?" He let out a groan. "No I'm not giving up so you may as well tell me." I smiled at him again, he should have learnt this by now. Sirius Black does not give up untill he gets what he wants..or gets bored waiting for it. "So?" I filled up the glass again and drank another glassful of water.

I was ready to be happy until he picked the topic back up of who I liked. I started thinking again of people he'd believe. Slytherin -- once again, off limits. James and Peter, DEFINITELY off-limits. I screwed up in concentration trying to recall any bloke I might have fancied at school, but the only boy that looked half like Sirius was Regulus and he was a Slytherin anyway. I decided to try to tell the truth but make it into a joke, and maybe that would make sure that he didn't know. I shrugged at him. "Would you believe me if I said it was you?" I asked, and laughed as hard as I could without feeling like my chest was going to collapse.

I frowned at him. "Is this a trick questions? Moony you know I suck at trick questions, like that time Mcgonagall asked my the root of pie and I thought it was berry but no it was a number? A number I tell you, then I asked her what numbers had to do with Transfig and she sent me out of the room for backchatting and then-" I continued babbling on, which made me forget my stubornness at wanting to know who he liked. "Which ened up in me losing five points, in which I told her it wasn't fair and she took another five points and gave me a detension." I took a big breath. "Then James got one too for defending me, I have no clue where you and Peter were at this time, maybe it was that time of the month." I mused.

I breathed a quiet sigh of relief as Sirius went off on a random tangent about McGonagall and pie. It actually felt good that someone knew at least half of this secret that I'd been packing around. "Dunno, might've been. Then again, even if Wormtail and I had been there, doesn't mean we'd have come prancing to your rescue like Prongs would. We prefer to spend our time NOT scrubbing bathroom floors, trophy cupboards, and the like." I gestured for him to pass me the glass of water and filled it, drinking it down with a contented sigh. This made life a little easier I supposed. What sort of bothered was that I couldn't think of a single bloke in the school that I really liked except Sirius. I decided that I'd have to keep a look out during class and in the halls so that I'd have a back-up answer, just in case Sirius had one of his random memory bursts and started badgering me.

"Yes well it's quite fun actually." I chippered handing him the water. "You get to spend all afternoon talking to one of your best mates not needing to do homework and when you don't do the homework you blame it on the teacher that put you in detension." I smiled broadly. "Easy, simple and homework free, that's the way to roll. Talking about rolls Peter had the best sandwhich roll the other day it was to die for, I don't know where you were then, probably in the library, but anyway it was the nisest roll I have had in a while and that includs James' mum's ones, and let me tell you she makes the best rolls. So I wanted to know were he got this roll but he wouldn't tell me, wouldn't tell james either, so." I finsihed somewhat lamly. "We stole his role and ran." I grinned.

"One day you're going to regret doing all those things to Peter. Honestly, you know he loves nothing more than something tasty to eat. I can just see it; one day, we'll be all upset because Peter's betrayed us and it'll all be over a stupid roll." I chuckled at the silly idea. Peter was a Marauder, he was one of us, he'd never do something to give us away or hurt us, especially not James because of how much he looked up to him. "Speaking of a roll I'm dead hungry, figure the matron could get the house elves to bring something up?"

I smiled slightly. "Well if he betrays us, I'll...ok what will I do." I sat their in thought for a few seconds. "Ok I lost my train of thought. What? Food, gook thinking." I jumped off the seat and went to the matrons office and knocking loudly on the door. "Mr Black do you need to make such a racket?" The matron asked swining the door open. "Remus in hungry." I said. She sighed and frowned at me before walking back into her office and coming back out with a tray full of food. She placed it down on the table next to Remus and disapeared back into her office. Sirius grabbed something off it and started to munch on it happily. "Food, what would we do without it. Oh I know, we'd all shrivvle up and die like little you knwo those little things that we got shown in Care of Magical creatures? The little ones that- oh never mind, not important."

I smiled at Sirius as he nicked some food off my plate. He was still chatting happily but I rarely listened to him when he got like this, just smiled and nodded and put in a "Yeah," or a "Sure," every once in a while. I scarfed down two corned beef sandwiches and poked around at some of the other food on the plate, wondering what to eat first. I could eat my weight in food on a normal day, and I was always extra hungry after the full moon since it took so much out of me. Peter was always whinging at me because of it. "You eat all the time and you're so scrawny!" he would say, poking at my ribs and frowning. He got mad because he was always a little heavier than the rest of us. It wasn't our fault, really; James worked it off through Quidditch, I had an unnatural metabolism, and Sirius was so spastic that he was lucky he didn't lose ten pounds a day just running around.

We chatted together the rest of the day, Sirius mostly on random topics, and he didn't bring up anything about me fancying anyone again, so I considered myself lucky. The day passed sort of slowly which was good, and by the time the matron released me to go up to the Gryffindor tower I felt loads better than I had when I woke up.

I was chattering happily by the time Moony was allowed out. We walked up to the common room, Remus not really saying much but then he didn't talk much on most days and the day after the full moon he talked even less. When we got into the common room James and Peter were there waiting for us. "You are soo lucky you missed the charms test." Peter muttered. "It was the hardest thing since slicing bread." "Do you always talk about food Peter?"I asked him as I sat down. "And I think Moony is going to make me sit that test whether I like it or not." "Did he shut up once today?" James asked looking at me as I contiued rabbling on. "THought not." He said after Remus replied. "I did so." I said indignetly. "When I was trying to think of somethign that I knew that no-one else did and Re-" But I was tackled to the ground by Remus to make me shut up. "You are quite a good tackler Moony." I chippered then continue on spouting rubbish.

After a while we all stopped listening to Sirius's inane babble and listened as James told the tale of his newest attempt to ask Lily out. Peter kept interrupting to add details thought, so all I could gather was that Lily had went on a rant then properly hexed half of James's left eybrow off. Sirius volunteered to draw it back on in ink, but James refused, saying he wanted to show Lily that he was "willing to suffer for her love." I wanted to roll my eyes at him several times but every time I started to, my gaze would fall on Sirius and I'd realized I was a hypocrite. I put up with a lot of nonsense for my friends, but Sirius was the only one I did it so willingly for. I brushed the thoughts off and stayed mostly quiet for the rest of the night, still exhausted from the change. By the time we all went to bed I was beginning to doze sitting up, book folded down across my lap.

"Night, Sirius," I muttered sleepily as he pulled my bedcurtains closed for me, "Sorry bout the tackle."

The next day we sat the Charms exam and I was pleased when Sirius didn't even attempt to cheat from my paper (as far as I could tell). The material was something we'd covered nearly a week earlier, when I had been feeling more myself, so I knew that I had pretty much aced it as usual. After lunch we went up to the common room and were all sitting around; Wormtail and Prongs were having a game of chess and Wormtail was beating him pretty soundly when I noticed Sirius's conspicuous absence. "Where's Padfoot?" I asked as casually as I could.

"Dunno," James said, rubbing at his missing eyebrow under the edge of his glasses.

"Oh, he met a lovely lady that he intends to woo," Peter remarked, chuckling as he moved his knight. "Checkmate, Prongs!"

We had charms the next day and me and Moony had the test to do as we had missed out of charms the next day. I got a few answers I was stuck on from Remus' page, but the rest I aced easily. James and Peter left lunch early and went up stairs to play chess and I left to join them soon fter, though right before I walked up the stairs I noticed a Gryffindor fourth year longing against the wall. I detoured back down the stairs and walked next to her. "And what is such a charming Gryffindor doing on a day like this alone?" I asked with a wink.

*Lily*

While doing my transfig homework I overheard the Marauders talking, well the Marauders minus Black. Lupin asked where he was and the others stated they had no clue. "He was outside the great hall talking to Zoey Walker when I left." I said catching their attension, I ignored Potter but saw a look of something flash breifly across Lupin's face. Maybe frustration? I wasn't sure.

"Hey Evans-"

"Not listening Potter." I replied going back to my homework.

My eyebrows knit together so fast that I probably looked pretty silly. Sirius was downstairs with some girl? It wasn't strange for him to be flirting but it was always when we were out and about, mostly for a laugh. James, grumbling, headed up the stairs, glancing back over his shoulder at Peter who was now trying to get Reggie Montague to play him at chess, and at Lily, who was smiling mildly at her book. I walked over to her and continued to feign being casual. "So, Sirius was talking with Zoey Walker, eh? What's that all about, do you think?"

I shrugged. “Have no clue to be perfectly honest.” I looked up at Remus, he had always been my favourite Marauder for the reason that he didn’t annoy people because he could and Pettigrew well... “But then I don’t think it would be academic would it?” I put my book down. “I’m sure he’s fine, don’t worry about it.” Remus was acting oddly, I frowned slightly. “What’s up Remus? You’re acting odd...” Potter finally got out of the Common room it had to have taken him at least a minute to walk a feet feet.

"When has anything Sirius has ever done been academic?" I asked with a forced laugh. It was hard to pretend to be so easy about things, and Lily was a smart girl; I knew that she knew something was up. "I don't know what you're talking about, though, I'm fine. I'm an odd guy, you know?" I said, biting my bottom lip and continuously glancing towards the portrait hole that continued to be free of Sirius. "Of course he's fine, though. I'm more worried about the girl." Lie. I'm more worried about me...

(Woo Zoey Sienna Walker has (finally) ARRIVED!)

I love my friends, I really do, but sometimes they get on my nerves and they always took so long to eat and it was rather boring just sitting there with nothing to do really. Sighing, I finished the last bit of my lunch and stood up. "Hey guys," I said when they looked at me, "I'm gonna head out. I just remembered something I forgot to do. Meet up with you later, ok?" They nodded at me and with a smile I left.

Once outside the hall I leaned on the wall, trying to figure out something plausible to go with my excuse, when Sirius Black walked over. "And what is such a charming Gryffindor doing on a day like this alone?" he said.

"Firstly, don't ever say the word charming to me again," I said quietly, tucking a piece of hair behind my ear, "And it would seem to me that what I'm doing is standing here. What business of your is it what I'm doing anyway?"

*Sirius*
"Hello to you too and why not?" I asked leaning on the wall next to her. "It's too nice of a day to be standing inside on your own." I smiled at the fourth year, She was quite pretty actually, more so then I had thought when I'd seen her as I walked up the stairs.
*Lily*

I raised an eyebrow at him. "I disagree, you don't look nor seem fine to me." I glanced at him suspicoously wondering what was up, he seemed on edge for some reason. "But it;s not my place to interfere." I picked my book back up and went back to my homework. I crossed off an answer and rewrote it frowning.

Glancing down at Lily's paper I recognized it as the Arithmancy homework that wasn't due for three days. "It's the 7 there that's messing you up you know," I said, pointing to the section of work that had caused her to answer incorrectly the first time. I glanced once more at the door and Peter, cheering as he got his opponent in check, looked up and caught me watching.

"Just go and look for him if you need to talk to him that bad. Is it about him nicking the answers from your paper on the Charms exam?" he asked expectantly.

"He cheated?!" I asked incredulously, then simply shook my head. It would be pointless to blow up about it; what was I going to do, stop talking to him? That'd hurt me more than it would hurt him.

"Oops," Peter said, fixing his eyes back on the chess game that he had almost won. "I didn't know it was a secret."

"You didn't say hello to begin with," I pointed out, "you just came over here and asked a question, so you get no hello in return. And now you're also prying, meaning I don't have to answer nor will I answer that question."

I gave him a slightly agitated look, since I really needed to think of something to tell my friends and he was distracting me. "Was there anything in particular you needed, or can I go back to thinking now?"

I looked over as a group of people came out of the Great Hall. Then I swore under my breath. It was my friends. "Excellent," I muttered sarcastically.

*Lily*

"Thanks." I muttered crossing out the answer and redoing it before writing down the right one. I had a feeling he wanted to say something but I felt like it was prying and to be honest it really wasn't my place to ask. I laughed slightly. "What else do you expect?" I asked him smiling slightly going to the next answer. I run my hand through my hair and dipped my quill into the ink. Frowning I worked on the next equation. "Remus." I told him looking back up. "Relax, he'll be up in a minute or two."

*Sirius*

I smiled slightly. "Hello then," Her freinds came over and I smiled breifly at them and I held out my hand. I could be polite when I felt like it, and when I wans't hanging out with the Marauders. Namly James.

Frowning, I took a seat in a chair near Lily. "I know, it's just..." I trailed off as Peter gave a loud squawk and immediately held out his hand. Reggie handed him a mound of pocket change and rolled his eyes, getting up to leave. Peter glanced to me, moping slightly, and towards the stairs that led to James. His allegiances were soon clear as he pocketed his winnings and disappeared up to the dorms. It didn't surprise me; everyone gravitated more towards James than any of the rest of us, except maybe Lily, who was fussing with her Arithmancy equations. With a cursory sweep of my eyes around the room, I found it empty. Where was everyone today? It was as if they'd all disappeared, not jus Sirius. "Can't believe he's off with some bird," I muttered bitterly, before I remembered that Lily was right next to me and could hear anything that I said.

I nearly rolled my eyes at him when my friends noticed me and walked over. "So is this why you disappeared from lunch?" Emma said, eyeing him as she shook his hand with a smile.

"Um…" I said, thinking it over for a second, "yeah… sure." Internally I was shouting at myself for a) saying yes to that and b) for not having an excuse ready, but then I was distracted, so I would just blame him.

"Well we'll just leave you to it then," Millie said, pulling Emma away, since she looked like she had every intention to stay put and flirt, as usual.

Once they were gone and scrunched my face into an exasperated expression. "Sorry about that, you know about using you as an excuse and all. It was convenient at the time. So what did you want when you came over here, besides to annoy me?"

*Lily*
I smiled slightly when Remus said something. "Two things." I muttered. "One I have no idea and I dont want to know why you men seem to call girls birds and two you need to stop worrying he'll be fine. Oh wait one more. Talk to him Remus, it'll help." I finished my arithmancy and put my book in my bag. Boys. I thought rolling my eyes.

*Sirius*

I smiled at her. "Not at all, I don't mind helping a fellow Gryffindor out." I leaned against the wall. "Not much really, was just on the way to the common room to convince James about..." I trailedoff and shook my head wondering why I was about to say that.
