"Well, I would appreciate it if you didn't," Lyssa hissed angrily at her, glaring and still rubbing the sore spot.

"I'd appriate if you didn't insult my family."

"Well, maybe if they didn't get so offended I wouldn't be insulting them. It's their faults if they want to take it as an insult. It's just the truth."

"Maybe if you didn't say the words it wouldn't matter," Cassie said scowling. "You know it's insuting Lyssa, we've been over this. You know. And you still keep saying it. And it's not the truth. My mother is not a- a- yeah. Being muggle born does not," Cassie's fist hit the table. "mean that her blood is dirty. For all you bloody know, it could be the other bloody way round."

"The other way around? Have you gone and hit your head on something? The Muggleborns are the ones mixing around the two bloods. Magic and non-magic."

"But whose to say that muggles aren't better than wizards?" Lizzie asked her.

"How could they be?" Lyssa challenged, knowing full and well she was digging a very deep, dangerous hole for herself.

"Well" Lizzie said. "How do you know that having the ability of magic is a good thing? How do you know that it isn't just a deformity in the human race?"

Lyssa shrugged. "I don't consider it a bad thing to have. It brings about ease and leisure, as well as hard work, because it takes time to master. Medical stuff alone is so much more efficient with magic, because things vanish almost instantly. I don't see how that could be bad."

"Oh dear," Cassie muttered under her breath. She could see in the way that Lizzie was looking that she wasn't going to stand down. "Because it's unnatural, and it's lazy. If you can fix things in a second that you don't value them. You don't take care. You don't appriate the hard work that it would take to MAKE those things."

"Yes, because we're so lazy that we study our butts off for seven years to perfect it and even after that we still have to work at it."

Lizzie opened her mouth but Sam cut across her. "Elizabeth, stop it." Lizzie scowled.

Lyssa fell silent at that moment, as if waiting for Sam to round on her and give her a talking to or something like that.

Sam looked at Lyssa. "Lyssa, I do not care what your opinion on it is. You will refrain from using such language or you will not be welcome in my house."

"Well maybe if people didn't make words inappropriate we wouldn't be having this problem," Lyssa muttered. "It's just a bunch of letters."

"Then you could easily just use a different bunch of letters."

"Don't see why I should."

"Because it's offensive. You wouldn't swear in front of your parents, it's the same thing."

"My parents wouldn't care if I said Mudblood in front of them."

"Oh screw this," Cassie said. She grabbed Lyssa by the arm. "Get. Out. Now." She said through clenched teeth.

Lyssa was startled for a second at Cassie grabbing her arm, and she looked at the other girl. "What?"

"You heard me, out."

Lyssa looked at Cassie like she couldn't quite believe the other girl. "You wouldn't really..."

"Do I need to drag you out? Or are you going to leave on your own free will. Because I will drag you if I have to."

Lyssa didn't respond.
