Do You Know Your Enemy?

Lesley looked at him, and shrugged. "Eh," She said. "Teacups are boring. I could transfigure them with my eyes closed. Mostly." If the wand was pointed at the teacups when she closed her eyes. "Besides, fireworks and interesting. Never seen them so close."

Cor blinked. "Really? I heard about them because of one of my old friends. His parents used to smuggle them for him all the time, and we would set them off in muggle farms. I love those things. The wizarding kind are even better, because they don't set things on fire."

"I've seen them before, just never as close. Like, nearly getting hit by fireworks close. We used to have them at New years when I was younger." She said thinking back, and then shrugged at him.

Cor grinned. "Well, aren't you glad you broke the rules this time, then? I bet you did not expect to enjoy it that much. Just think--just this morning, you were freaking out over your transfiguration text book. Looks like you did not need it for much, eh?"

Lesley rolled her eyes. "I still like to be in possession of my possessions thank-you-very-much," She said sticking her wand back into her robes. "And I do however need it to finish my assignment."

Cor grinned. "I knew there was still a stick in the mud lurking within." He looked at his watch. "Well, madame, I have places to go and people to see, and since you want to actually touch the poisonous venom that is work, I think I'm going to take off. I'll see you in... whatever class we have next together." Cor winked and mock saluted and walked away.

Lesley rolled her eyes, and made her way to the common room, as she had a spare and decided that she might as well use it to work on her assignment. It gave her less work to do later in the night, because she was undoubtedly going to get more work throughout the day.

Later on, Cor and Lesley ran into each other in an undefined way.

"Stalker," Lesley muttered as she nearly walked straight into Corey as she wasn't watching where she was going.

"Me? A stalker? Why, madame, you have it all backwards! I am currently evading stalkers. A lot of girls like the rebel thing, you know? Or maybe you don't. I've never seen you with a guy before, so I'm guessing you don't really play the field very much."

"Yeah well, we'll see how much they like the rebel thing when they fail their newts and have to be rubbish collectors," Lesley muttered under her breath. She looked at Corey suspiciously as she shook her head. "Nope," She said. "Never gone out."

Cor grinned. "I heard that, Les. And so you know, I've never failed a single examination. I got mostly Os on my OWLs. It's really just about being able to balance it all. I'm not surprised that you would not understand that, though, since you are little miss hermit who never goes out with anyone. You should try it sometime."

"You were meant to," Lesley replied. "The act of muttering just loud enough so people can hear you. Pfft," She said with a shake of her head. "I don't want to go out with anyone, I honestly don't want to. Seems like far more trouble then it's worth."

"Ah, my dear, young, naive Lesley. That is what you think NOW. You'd be surprised, m'dear. Some people get rather addicted to it, actually. We live in a world of people in love with the idea of falling in love. It's a tragedy not to take advantage of that."

"Well they can go and enjoy their tragic love lives," Lesley said. "I'm good without thank-you-very-much." She looked at him, with a raised eyebrow. "What's it to you anyway?"

Cor masked his face to look completely innocent. "To me? Absolutely nothing. I just think you're missing out. You really do need to start living, you know. You'd enjoy it. Look at how much fun you had this afternoon!"

Lesley raised an eyebrow at him. "Of course," She said with a slight roll of her eye. "Nothing to you at all. Hm. I believe you. Yeah-No, don't think so. And that is ebcause it's fireworks, you can't help but find fireworks amusing."

"Oh really?" Cor said, grinning. "I don't believe you at all. You enjoyed it fore more reasons than because it was fireworks. You enjoyed breaking the rules more than you ever would let on. Prove to me it is not true."

"Prove it?" Lesley asked with a raised eyebrow. "I am going to go finish my transfiguration," She jostled her bag on her shoulder, moving it to the other shoulder as it was hurting her shoulder. "Goodday to you." She said heading off.

Cor rolled his eyes. "You're such a coward. Also, the transfiguration takes about two seconds. You could do it with your eyes closed--look at what you did with the fireworks? You understand it perfectly. You're wasting your time."

Lesley turned on her foot as she walked to face him. "Well, that's what I'm off to do. My transfiguration with my eyesshut. Anyway," She said stopping walking. "I've mentioned it before, it has nothing to do with you how I chose to live my life. And I am perfectly happy with how it is."

Les was rather dense, but Cor knew he could win her over with time. "I firmly disagree. However, if you want to live a boring life and never enjoy what you've got, that's completely up to you. Just know that I don't intend to give up. It's my job to spread a little bit of trouble, and I take my job quite seriously."

"I've noticed," She replied starting to walk backwards. "Enjoy yourself." She turned around as she continued to walk, heading back to the common room shaking her head slightly at Corey.

Corey was sure of it.
He would win her over eventually.

Lesley got to the common room and dumped her things down onto a desk, sitting down. With a yawn she grabbed her books out and assignment and started to work on it.
