Life Has Just Begun But Now I've Gone And Thrown It All Away

"Yeah," Lucy said with a slight nod, finishing her hair.

Classes for the two days Voldemort was around were canceled, so the girls had free time until the announcement to go to the Great Hall for the meeting.

Lucy sat down on a chair in the common room. Wondering who in the house this time was going to willingly leave and join Voldemort.

Lyall laid down across the couch, taking up all the space on it, much to the disgruntlement of some younger students. She honestly did not care though.

The meeting was called, and the students went out.

Everyone sat where they had the day before.

Lucy sighed sitting down.

And then Voldemort came in.

Lucy smothered a yawn.

So Voldemort gave his usual speech about how those who joined him today would have to prove their loyalty before he accepted them into his ranks, blah blah blah.

Lucy frowned, chewing on her lip. Having not fully made up her mind at this point. She had just about, because she wasn't going to leave Lyall on her own. But, she didn't really want to join his ranks. She didn't want to be a Death Eater. She did want to avenge her uncle's death though. That thought just about finished her inward debating, she was going to avenge her uncle.

And so then Voldemort called for the people who wanted to join.

Quite defiantly, Lyall didn't move.

Lucy looked at Lyall. "Come on Ly," Lucy said softly as some people stepped forward. "You don't want to upset him."

Lyall looked at her. "If you're saying come on, does that mean you're coming too?" she asked.

Lucy nodded her head slightly.

Lyall nodded back and looked over to Voldemort who was quite creepily watching her expectantly.

Lucy glanced at Lyall for a moment, grabbed the girl's arm and headed towards the front.

Lyall made a face, but didn't fight against Lucy's grip any.

Lucy stopped in front of Voldemort, and dropped Ly's hand.

And so the meeting thing ended, and everyone left but the girls, the other people that had stood up, and Voldemort.

The people in the hall left quickly.

After they were all gone Voldemort turned to the ones that had stayed. "To prove to me that you are loyal," he said, "each of you will demonstrate your ability to perform an Unforgivable Curse." Then he made a motion, and the Death Eaters that always came with him pulled some people from a room. Ly recognized them as people who had left before. They must have failed in the their attempt, and so got made to be the guinea pigs.

Lucy's eyes hardened. "Lovely," She murmered sarcasticly under her breath. But really, what had she expected.

So they all lined up by age, oldest going first. Lyall and Lucy were at the very back. One by one people tried, and some succeeded and some failed. And then it was Lucy's turn as she was older than Ly by some months.

Lucy clenched her fist around her wand, looking at the target. She pushed the thought that he was human out of her mind, because otherwise she wouldn't be able to do it. Instead, she thought more as it was something she had to do. Like the person was just a stuffed target.
