Just a day like any.

She nodded. "Are you two going to stand there all day or go in?" the portrait asked irritably. "Sorry!" Demi said pulling Drew through the portrait hall. She grinned at him, and then tried to appear calm.

Drew watched Demi. She was awful at appearing calm. He seemed calm enough for the both of them, though, and if Demi was trying to be tooo calm, it would be suspicious.

Demi glanced around the common room trying to see if the marauders were in here, or if they had gone up to their dorm. She sat down in a chair waiting.

The marauders came in. Drew was nervous and excited.

Demi watched them walk up to the dorm room and turned to Drew, unable to hold in her excitement. "Any moment now," she murmured.

Drew was secretly dreading the backlash, but he nodded and made himself look busy, so that he and Demi could not be blamed for anything.

"Cheer up," she said grabbing a book out of her bag. "It'll go great." she paused at a shout that could be heard up the boys stair case.

Drew was careful to react only with confusion when screaming came from the dormitories. He was afraid to look at Demi--she was probably grinning up a storm. That would be problematic.

Demi did her best to hide her smile, and glanced up quizzically in the direction of the shouts. Some of her house mates looked around warily, wondering what the marauders were possibly doing. James charged down the stairs, Sirius right behind him and the other two not far behind. Demi took one look at their expressions and gulped. This would be interesting.

Drew watched as James and Sirius stormed down the stairs. They looked angry. Peter looked slightly confused and slightly angry, like he wasn't entirely sure what had just happened, but James and Sirius were upset, so he should be too. Remus looked resigned--he should have been upset, but he was used to his fellow Marauders getting him into trouble. Being the target of a wayward prank wasn't abnormal for him.

"What's going on?" Drew asked, managing to sound genuinely confused.

Sirius snarled and Demi looked up inquisitively from her book. "What happened?" she asked somehow hiding her glee. James scowled deeply at her. "You!" he spat fury coating his words. Other members of the house were looking over curiously now. Wondering what had angered the marauders. Demi frowned at him. "What did I do?" she asked.

Drew watched as Sirius questioned Demi, not trusting her innocence. He wasn't sure what to do--finally, he couldn't stand Dem being questioned and watching everything unfold.

"Black, it wasn't her. I've been with her the whole day, and this one isn't on her."

James snorted. "Yes, because we'd believe you saying it wasn't her about as much as we believe her saying it wasn't her." Demi pouted. "Why does no-body believe me?" she asked. "I didn't do it!" Sirius stared at her skeptically. "It would be just like you to go and COAT EVERYTHING IN OUR ROOM IN HONEY." Demi couldn't hold back a giggle at that. He glowered at her. "Ha! So you did do it." "...thinking it is amusing doesn't make it my fault."

Drew was succeeding in not cracking a grin at the thought of things. "Lupin, do you know who else it could have been?" He addressed Remus, assuming he was the most reasonable of the lot. "It wasn't Dem or me, and I don't keep up with who those two have made into enemies."

Remus' expression seemed to show that he thought it was Demi, but he turned to Drew with a half shrug. "I can't keep up with who they have enemies with either sometimes," he said with a shake of his head. "It was her!" Sirius said. "And you probably helped her with it," he gave Drew a disgruntled look.

Drew shook his head. "I may be friends with Demi, but I'm not stupid. Why would I go out of my way to help tick off the biggest group of pranksters in the class?"

"You should listen to him," Demi said. "He's a Ravenclaw, they are clever. I didn't do it, and unless you have any proof? Other than the fact that you just don't like me? Go bother some one else."

Drew looked at Demi. "Be nice, Dem." Looking at the Marauders, he said, "She's right, though. It wasn't us."

"Oh it so was," Sirius said frowning suspiciously at them. "I am going to prove it." James glanced at Demi, his expression one of a challenge, to say that she better watch her back very carefully because the Marauders meant business now. She smiled at him and James turned to Drew. "If I were you Alaska I wouldn't get mixed up in this, because Mitchell here has full on started a war, and you are going to get pulled in." "I look forward to it," Demi said with a grin. Remus sighed loudly behind them.

"I don't want to get pulled into this," Drew said as soon as the Marauders left. "I so don't want to get pulled into this. Really, really, really don't. I do not think I can emphasize how much I do not."

Demi grinned at him. "That is nice Drew," she said lazily picking her book back up. "Where is your sense of fun? And they aren't going to be too mean to you, because they'll be too busy being mean to me. And they don't want to turn half of Ravenclaw onto the Gryffindors for attacking a member of Ravenclaw house."

"I'm not THAT important," Drew said, frowning. "Ravenclaws would only rise up if it were strategically advantageous. One person is not enough to start a major rivalry, sadly. We're much too cautious, in general."

Demi tried to think up another idea. "Well, the teachers tend to ignore Gryffindor on Gryffindor attacks, because that's how Gryffindor's roll. I think they might suspect something strange if you walk in half way through a class with your hair turned to feathers. Ooh, that's a good idea..."

"Demi, we are not having anyone's hair turned into feathers, okay? Or at least, not right now. One prank war at a time, okay? Also, don't suggest we do that to the Marauders, because I don't know of a way to do that without it being obvious that it's you."

Demi pouted. "Fiine, I'll do it once the whole world knows I'm in a prank war with the marauders. Which should be at the latest next week, if not in the next few days." The thrummed her fingers on the edge of her chair. "I wonder how they'll retaliate..."
