Cassie and Lyssa (Year 6)

I gave her a look. "What did I say about annoying him this year?" I asked with a sad expression. "Can you lay off just a little on him? He's stressed enough as is, and so am I."

I looked at her near pleading.

"Lyssa." I rolled my eyes.

"It'll distract him from wahtever it is he's doing, as long as I don't bring up that he has a mission to do."

I yawned and oulled my robes out to put them on.

"As true as that may be, it'll also cause him some sort of stress. If you pick at him he feels the need to pick back and at the same time the need to outdo you, so really. As great a distraction as you think it'll be it won't help. He has to focus on what he's doing or he'll fail and..." I stopped, not trusting my voice enough to say more.

I sighed. "Ok fine, I'll try not to. happy?" I said irritably.

my mood was swiging today but I had no clue why.

I leaned back on the chair and looked outht window.

"Don't get irritated at me for trying to lessened my brother's stress level so that he, my mother, and I don't end up dead because he failed!" I said, barely stopping myself from shouting. I got up and opened to door to the compartment to leave.

"I'm sorry. Ok?" I muttered.

"My mood has been swinging like this all holiday, One minute I'm happy then next I'm grumpy." I put my head in my hands/

I sighed. Then my head shot up. "Dead?"

I was just about to walk out apology or no when she said "Dead?"

I stopped and turned to her, closing the door as to not be overheard.

"Yes Cassie. Dead. If Draco fails he said he was going to kill us all. And all because my stupid father had to get himself chucked in Azkaban."

"Dear god." I shut my eyes and put my head back on the chair.

"He's going to end up killing the whole world, he'll end up killing his followers and his enemy's. If he doesn't get stopped he'll end up being the only one left. Stupid bloody Voldemort."

I sat back down in my seat and looked over at her.

"Yeah he will. Unless Harry decides to do his job and properly kill the git," I said, trying to blank out my mind so I wasn't consumed by my fear and worry again. I wasn't in the mood for another breakdown, and I had to learn to control it anyway or I would end up having them throughout the year and that would not bode well.

"Or." I said yawning. "We could say stuff Harry and kill the git ourselves?"

I smiled wickedly.

Then I frowned. "Stupid mood."

"It would probably feel rather nice to kill the git," I agreed, "but at the risk of dying myself...I'd rather not have to unless it's dire circumstances. My sense of self-preservation usually overpowers my need to be stupidly heroic."

I smiled slightly.

"Oh no, you're being Slytherin."

I snickered.

"That's the only thing about that's Slytherin about me," I muttered in mock hurt and pouting.

I playfully crossed my arms over my chest, sulking.

And then I just had to laugh. "The Slytherin trait...it runs in my family you know," I said, tone still joking.

I smiled. "Yes, I've noticed." I winked at her.

"We should be there soon."

I said looking out the window.

I also looked out the window.

"Wow. It got dark faster than usual it seems," I commented.

I frowned, in no mood for the year to start any time soon.

We got to the train stop and grabbed our trunks to pull them onto the platform.

I yawned and got into one of the houseless carages.

Lyss got in next to me.

Once inside the carriage I frowned.

It would be so different this year, since for the last few Fred, George, and their friend Lee had sat with us.

It felt empty.

I frowned slightly.

"I'm going to miss the twins." I muttered.

I sighed as the horseless carraige set off.

"Yeah," I muttered. "But I suppose we can still write them and such. Get them to send us things from the shop too. We could probably get it for free from them."

I sighed. "Still won't be the same though."

"Yeah..." I trailed off and sighed.

We got to the carstle and into the great hall sitting at our tables waiting for the firts years.

"I remember when I was that younge."

"Being a first year you mean?" I asked. "Dreadful that was. I didn't like being that small at all, it wasn't very fun."

I thought back to how very short I was back then compared to now at least. Which led me to think about how the summer between third and fourth year I had hit a growth spurt and was soon taller than Cassie who had always been taller than me.

"Remember when you were actually taller than me?"

I smiled slightly. I'd been taller then Lyss till fourth year then she'd had a growth spurt so was taller. I'd had a growth spurt over the holidays so we were about even now.

"Yes I do,and I plan to be taller again." I smiled.

I scoffed at her.

"Yeah right. You're not going to be taller than me. Have you seen how tall my parents are? And Draco's tall too you know. So I'm bound to grow more."

"We'll see." I said thumming my figners on the table.

"Hurry up you stupid hat." I grumbled.

"Im hungry."

I frowned.

"Same. And they're only on the letter F last names."

I rested my head on my hand and watched them.
