Cassie and Lyssa (Year 6)

"G..." I muttered when they got on the g.

We started saying the letters as the last names changed.

"W!"

"Ah it would seem they're done," I noted as the last new first year sat down at their new houses's table.

The hat and its stool were taken out of the room.

"Yay food!" I smiled as the food appeared on the plates.

I grabbed a steak and salt.

"Here's to the end of the sorting."

I smiled a tad at Cassie's enthusiasm.

"Yeah sure," I replied.

Then I grabbed some food of my own realizing just how hungry I was at the moment.

I grinned and finished my steak wondering what to eat next.

I grabbed some potatoes once I'd finsiehd that dessert came.

"Yum. Dessert."

"So enthusiasttic," I muttered. "And about food of all things."

I gave a little laugh.

Then I reached and grabbed some dessert too, a couple brownies.

I flashed her a smile. "We would die without food you know."

She took a bowl of icecream and ate it.

"Ice cream my favourite."

"While this is true," I said, "you're acting a bit like Ron."

I looked over at the redhead who was indeed very enthusiastically stuffing his face.

"Well," I revised, "not too much like him, but the enthusiasm level is near the same you're just less...er...verbose about it."

I snickered slightly. "Oh well. Alls well that ends well or some other rubbish like that."

I smiled and finished my ice-cream yawning.

"Ugh I'm tired."

"Just a bit ago you were complaining you were hungry," I said, laughing lightly. "Make up your mind what you want."

Bur regardless it was gettting late, well to the first years at least, and so it was time for us all to go to our common rooms.

"Im tired now." I said winking. "No longer hunry."

I smiled and got up.

"Wonder who head boy and girl this year is."

I shrugged getting up. "Meh don't care. I've gotten over all the hyph of being one of the chosen few who get responsibility around here mostly. It's not all that important really, and it gets you nowhere outside of school."

We both left the hall and started walking up the many stairs to the common room.

I shrugged. "Yeah but I still like to know, I wonder who will get it next year." I mused.

We got to the common room and one of the prefects gave the password.

Not wanting to listen to the first years getting told junk I wwent up to the girl sixth year dorms.

I shrugged.

Once we got in the common room and walked up to the stairs to our dorm I located my bed and sat on it, laying back.

I changed into my Pjs and lay down on my bed.

I yawned tiredly.

"Tis good to be back."

"Not just good," I muttered yawning and getting back up to get my pj's. "It's great to be back. No more listening to my parents or any of that nonsense."

Once I had changed I laid back down and closed my eyes, exhausted all of a sudden.

"Yeah.." I trailed off.

I feel asleepquickly tired out by getting to school.

We did nothing on the first day but it was always extreamly tiring.

The next morning came bright and quick.

I rolled over and covered my face with my pillow, trying to keep sleeping, but the sun wasn't having that, so soon I gave up and opened my eyes, scowling.

I was still tired.

I yawned drowsily.

And got my robes.

Afterfive minutes of attemptingto put them on backwards. I fixed it.

I sleepily got ready, yawning about every two minutes, but eventually succeeded.

But then, instead of walking down for breakfast, I fell back on my bed, and closed my eyes again.

"I'm not moving from this spot," I muttered

I smiled slighly. "Come on, don't want to be late first day."

I yawned.

"On seconnd thoughts."

"No, no," I said, sitting up. "You're right. We should be on time."

I stood up from my bed and straightened out the wrinkles that had appeared on my robes when I was laying down. I yawned again, covering my mouth with my hand. Then with a sigh I walked to the door of the dorms, and turned back to Cassie. "Coming, or not? I want breakfast."

The I walked out and started down the stairs.

"coming." I said and jumped out of bed and caught up to her.

"I wonder what we have first." I yawned.

We got down to the hall and sat at the table.

"Yeah," I agreed. "I wonder. I just really hope it's not some sucky class."

We walked down to the Great Hall and sat down at our table somewhere near the middle. There were people scattered about, the early risers who were talking away quite rapidly for this early in the day, the people who were friends with them and had been dragged down, most of which had their heads on the table, trying to sleep some more it seemed, and then random other people who had just woken up early this morning.

With a slight smile I reached for the closest thing to me, which happened to be a chocolate chip muffin. "Yum," I said to myself biting into it.

"That would suck."

I yawned and took a muffin too.

"Mmm nice muffins."
