I fidgeted more when the guy turned his attention back to me once Cassie had sat back in her seat, and I sort of wished I could just disappear. I didn't like the look he was giving me. "And now that all the information and so forth has been presented it is time to come to a verdict," the guy said.

Verdict? I jumped slightly in my seat at that word I didn't like the word verdict, it wasn't a pleasent word, not in the slightest. "Those in favour of clearing the accused of all charges raise their hand," I was too nervous to look up at who was raising their hand or not. "And those in favour of conviction," I still didn't want to look up fearing the worst.

I felt my whole body tense and I stared, eyes fearful, as the guy asked for the votes. I forced myself to look, to count, as hands rose to clear me, and then to convict me and send me away to Azkaban. My breath tightened in my chest as I counted. No...

I looked up and with a quick look could see that the majority had voted for conviction. No. I though and bit my lip. Please no. Not caring if the ministy would stop me I ducked out from the rows of chairs and over to Lyss. "I'm sorry," I said trying to stop myself from crying, I really didn't want to lose my best freind. "I tried," I said quietly so no-one else could hear.

I let my head hang down, so I wasn't looking at anyone, tears rolling down my cheeks and onto my lap, head shaking back and forth in denial. I was only 17, this shouldn't be happening. I closed my eyes, focusing mostly on not hyperventilating, blocking out most everything else.

I bit my lip still trying not to cry, I was succeding barley, I didn't care that the whole Wizengamont was still in the room of McGonagall or anyone else for that matter, I really didn't care right now. A chill went through my spine and memories of the year were coming back to me. I looked up and saw two dementors. I really really badly wanted to cast my patronus to protect Lyssa from the dementors. "Miss Evans I would advice you to move away from the accused," Someone said. I folded my arms and glared at the guy, "Ok," I snarled. "I'll just go stand over there while you send a seventeen year old witch to prison. How would you feel it, if they sent your best freind to Askaban?" My voice had lowered and I started to cry.

I stopped crying for a moment and looked at Cassie. "Evans, shut up!" I snapped acting as though I didn't care a thing she had to say, but with my eyes I hoped she could see that I was begging her to stop before she got in trouble too.

"Make me," I snapped back my voice losing the snarl, the room was cold and my head will filling my thoughts that I really didn't need to think. Stupid Carrow's stupid Snape, it was their bloody fault that this was happening, if they hadn't tried to take over Hogwarts it wouldnt have happened...if Snape hadn't killed Dumbledore it wouldn't have happened. Dumbledore...what would he think? He would probably be revolted by what Lyssa had done but he'd vouch for her...he always did, he was one for forgivness. I really didn't care how much trouble I could get in for not listening to the ministry I didn't care right now. "She's seventeen." I said softly. "Barely an adult, no-one has the right judment at that age, what about Dumbledore?" My voice was slightly more bolder now. "He was seventeen and he and Gellert were plotting to take over the world, look what he became. People change." I looked at Lyssa who was clearly telling me to shut up. I didn't shut up for Death Eaters, I'm not going to shut up for Ministy idiots. I mouthed.

I bit my lip and narrowed my eyes at her. Stop before you get yourself in trouble. I mouthed back at her. Please.... Tears stung my eyes again as I looked at her. "If I'm really your friend like you say I am, then shut up so you don't get in trouble too. It'll just make it worse," I whispered looking back down at my lap. "They don't care how old I am. They don't care who has a history like mine. They only care about their predjudices and preconceptions of me."

"And I don't care what they say," I said stubornly. "What if it were me in this position? Would you just stand back and watch? I'm a Gryffindor, I'm not going to shut up and do what I'm told if I disagree with it," I cross my arms stubbornly still glowering at the ministry who seemed at a loss of what to do, "Where's the justice in this?" I asked talking to myself, forgetting for the time being that there were others in the room. "How are you meant to learn from your mistakes if you are never given the chance?"

"Of course I wouldn't just watch," I hissed at her. "But I wouldn't be stupid about it either!" Then I sighed. She was too stubborn for her own good sometimes. I averted my attention to the guy as he cleared his throat to get our attention. "This was over the second a verdict was decided. Discussion on the topic has been closed."

I turned and glared at the guy and looked back at Lyss. "Well sorry for trying to care," I snapped not really caring anymore the guy cleared his throat again and I turned to scowl at him. "I hope you're happy," I snarled and walked towards the door to walk out of the place. "I also hope you rot in hell," I slammed the door behind me and scowled. Stupid freaking ministy idiots.

I watched as Cassie stormed out of the room, and whimpered slightly to myself, wincing as she slammed the door behind her. I blinked back tears and bit my lip so hard it hurt. I looked over at the dementors and shivered to myself, remembering back to the summer before sixth year, comforting Draco after he got ordered to kill Dumbledore or we would all die and remembering how helpless I felt then.

Scowling I kept walking. "Miss Evans," A voice said. I spun on the spot and frowned at McGonagall before turning back around and continueing to walk. She caught my arm and pulled me to a stop. "What?!" I snapped glaring at her, I really was not in the mood right now. "That was entially stupid of you and-" "I don't care," I spat back. "Cant anyway see that? I don't care what the god damn ministy has to say when my best freind is about to go to Askaban," "And-" Professor McGonagall said acting as if I hadn't interupted. "This is going to be your last chance to say good-bye to Miss Malfoy," I froze cursing my stupidity. "Should have done that before I exited..." I frowned.

I closed my eyes and pushed the memory to the back of my mind, not wanting to deal with it right now. I opened my eyes again and I frowned. My head snapped over to the door as it opened, and Cassie came back in the room, still looking angry.

I frowned and sighed walking back towards the court room, completly ignoring everyone in the room I walked over to where Lyss was still stuck in the chair. "I'm sorry," I said standing akwardly next to the chair. I frowned again and bit my lip. "I'll miss you,"

I looked her at her, biting my lip. "What are you apologizing for?" I asked. The guy opened his mouth as though to say something about us talking, as though he were in some sort of a hurry so I said, "Oh, shut your mouth, no one gives a fuck what you have to say."

"I don't know," I muttered still biting my lip, I was concious that the Wizengamont was still in the room. "It's just easier to say sorry than to point the blame at someone else sometimes," The guy was about to interupt and Lyss snapped at him, I smiled slightly. "We do not have time for this," The guy said briskly. "Then leave," I said cheakily. "Im sure Lyss and I can find our own way out."

"You've done nothing wrong," I said, sounding almost like I was reprimanding her, "so don't dare say your sorry to me. I'm the one to say I'm sorry," I said with a frown. Then I snickered to myself and I almost found myself smiling as Cassie talked back to the guy when he did say something. It was like the beginning of the year all over again, only vastly different.

"Domino effect," I muttered. "One thing led to another and another and it just got bigger," I sighed wondering when the ministy was just going to give up and drag me out of there. Cause I somehow doubted they would let me talk to the "accused" for much longer.

"I suppose..." I muttered, wondering how much longer this would be allowed to go on and I got my answer quickly. "If you two are quite done," the guy said once I had finished with my oh so short statement, "we do have things to do."

I frowned slightly. It's not like you havn't upheld the law before, I thought in my head. I turned to look at the guy. Who seemed set on it, I sighed wishing that my reasoning had worked. I dicided to ignor him, I wasn't in the mood to listen to what he had to say. "I wish we could go back in time and restart the year," I muttered.

"I do too," I agreed, "and then never come up with that stupid idea that just threw things all out of proportion." I sighed. Then I heard the guy sigh in frustration. It would seem he didn't like being ignored by people.

"Yeah..." I muttered. "Stupid idea in the first place," I smiled at the guy's annoyance, it reminded me of the start of year feast when no-one was listening to Snape calling them to be quiet.

"Yes, well...you're the one who encouraged it if I remember correctly," I muttered, and just as Cassie opened her mouth to reply the guy decided to take the spotlight and talk. "Miss Evans," the guy said, trying to maintain a calm tone in his annoyance, "I will forcibly remove you from this room if you do not stop delaying things. So either remove yourself now, or go sit down somewhere away from where you are. I let you talk, now I'm taking charge again and moving things along." I scowled at him, biting back from saying something that would inevitably make him throw Cassie out.
