Betrayal At Its Best

"I don't know," Cassie said with a shrug. "Knowing Harry I suppose he'llgive himself up." She frowned at that. "Idiot."

"Yeah," Lyssa agreed. "He's that sort of person. Although, that doesn't really get anyone anywhere, except him dead." Then she sighed, running her fingers across her eyelids like one did when their eyes were sore, only hers weren't. She was just frustrated. "Why the hell didn't I just stay home...?" she muttered, mostly to herself.

"I'd like to go home." Cassie said with a frown, she was worried about her parents and how they were coping. She was also hoping that she wouldn't find the house half exploded by her mum's anger and sadness. She used to throw things when she got annoyed. Cassie did not want to know what she did in her dispair this time.

Lyssa internally winced at what Cassie was implying without it being sad. "If there was some way I could take it back...." she said. "I would jump right on it."

"Well you can't so," Cassie half shrugged. She knew that despite her forgiving nature and even if she said that she did she would never really forgive Lyssa for what she had done. It just wasn't something that could be forgiven.

Lyssa looked at the floor, nodding slowly. "I know I can't," she said. "But I wish I could." She ran her hand through her hair, sighing.

The girls continued sitting in an awkward silence that was only interupted when one of the girls said something. Though their conversations dwindled off awkwardly very quickly as their relationship was strained. "What the heck is that?" Cassie asked hearing a bunch of noise out in the hall.

Lyssa shrugged, looking at the door. "They're probably dueling again," she muttered resting her chin on her palm. She didn't quite like having to listen to everything. Not only was it muffled, but she couldn't tell which side was which.

"Probably," Cassie said with a slight frown wondering what was happening in the great hall, though she didn't really want to go and check. She had had enough of dueling. Some time later McGonagall opened the door. "What happened?" Cassie asked before the Professor even had time to fully enter the room. "Voldemort got defeated."

It was quiet for a moment, no one knowing what to say. "So..." Lyssa finally muttered. "What happens now?"

McGongall said something about deciding what was going to happen with Lyssa. So she, Lyssa, Cassie and some other people converged on the subject. Cassie was slightly nervous about what the verdict would be and she had no idea what the Order would say.

Lyssa twirled her hair around her finger, a nervous habit of hers, while the adults talked. She was only half listening to them, but eh. Lyssa looked over as she heard footsteps approaching the group of people, seeing Harry was the one walking.

Cassie glanced up seeing Harry, who looked about with a slight frown. "What's going on?" He asked. McGonagall explained the situiation to him. Harry frowned slightly. "Well her mother was the one who lied to Voldemort about me being alive so if it weren't for her I would be dead and Voldemort would have won." He shrugged slightly. "So I think that that would get Lyssa off the hook."

Lyssa looked at Harry, then once he was done talking she looked at McGonagall (and Remus who was standing next to McGonagall) wondering what the professor was thinking, as she looked rather thoughtful.

"He does have a point.." McGonagall said frowning thoughtfully. Remus' eye brows shot up. "You're not serious?" he asked. "No Remus she's not, that why's she said it." Some Order person said. Even though Cassie had no idea who the person was she decided that she liked her.

Lyssa twirled her hair tighter around her finger as McGonagall considered things and Remus scowled. Finally, the teacher nodded to herself. "Yes," she said, still nodding. "I have to agree with Mr. Potter."

"And before you say anything Remus, yes we know you do not agree. So save yourself the breath and us the headache." Taylor said sweetly with a small smile.

Cassie smiled slightly to herself. It was good that they weren't going to 'press charges' as would be an adequate way to say it. Because while she wasn't on the best terms with Lyssa she still didn't want anthing to happen to her.

Lyssa was...relieved. Not that it was an outward expression, just internal. She was still sort of stuck with not showing too much outwardly. But she did nearly smile at McGonagall.

Sometime later the the two girls were sitting someplace. Cassie ran a hand through her hair with a sigh. "I think I'm going to go home come morning.." She said with a slight shrug. She would have prefered to have gone now but it was still early morning and despite as much as she wanted to see her mum she didn't really want to wake her up. Maybe she had her priotires mixed up but eh.

Lyssa nodded at her. "That would probably be good. I'm sure your mum is worried about you a lot. And your dad, too," she said, twirling her hair a little bit. "Would you mind horribly if I tagged along? I want to apologize, even though I know it will mean nothing."

Cassie blinked slightly. "Uhh you can come if you want to, though it's at your own risk." Cassie shrugged having no idea how her mum would react if Lyssa appeared But if she wanted to come, Cassie wasn't going to stop her.

Lyssa shrugged. "It's a risk that I'm going to have to take then," she said. "Although, to be quite honest with you, I don't really care what happens to me when I get there. In fact, I'll deserve all of it."

It was smetime later when the two girls walked out of the Hogwarts grounds."I'll meet you there I suppose." She said turning on the spot and apperating outside her front door. Hoping that some Muggle didn't happen to be walking past.

Lyssa nodded at Cassie, and Apparated after her, suddenly feeling nauseous, and it wasn't just from the Apparating this time either.

Cassie glanced at Lyssa anxiously fora moment before heading up the path. She really was wondering if Lyssa coming was a good idea because knowing her mother... Cassie sighed and got the spare key out of the letter box and opened the front door, before returning the key.
