Betrayal At Its Best

"It was her or me and her. I prefer being alive, so I chose just her," Lyssa saod with a shrug. "And as for Draco, well it depends on the situation"

"I don't believe you! You killed someone and you're all meh about it. You actually stole someone's life."

"And I honestly don't care that I did," Lyssa replied. "It's survival of the fittest in this world rght now, and your sister just didn't make the cut it seems."

Cassie scowled spun around and pushed Lyssa into the wall next to her, causing the other girl's head to bang against it.

Lyssa winced, dropping her wand from the shock of the impact and swearing for a moment, but then she shrugged the pain in her head off. "Always the physical violence with you, isn't it?" she asked, rubbing her head lightly.

"It's easier," Cassie said shortly. "And you don't need a fancy peice of wood to do it."

Lyssa stood there for a moment, wondering if it would be safe for her to bend down and get her wad, just in case she would need it. She honestly didn't trust Cassie not to hit her again the second she went for it. "If you have no need for a 'fancy piece of wood' as you call it, then why are you holding one?"

"So I can protect myself from mad hatters who want to kill me. Im saying it's easier without it not that Im not going to use it."

Lyssa made a disinterested noise, eyeing her wand where it had fallen to the ground a moment before. She really should pick it up, but she didn't want to get hit again.

Cassie noticing Lyssa eyeing the wand kicked it with her foot, causing it to fly down the hall.

Lyssa swore under her breath, cursing her hesitancy. Then she looked at Cassie, eyes narrowed.

Cassie watched the wand skitter down the hall before turning back to Lyssa. She raised an eyebrow at her narrowed eyes. "See," She said pleasently. "This is when it's a lovely time to know how to whack people in the face."

"Well," Lyssa said slowly, "I hung around you for six years. I think I know how, even without application. Let's find out, shall we?" Then she drew back her fist and attempted to hit Cassie (which she knew would probably fail, but anything was worth a try...).

Cassie who both knew that the punch was coming and was quick with her hands caught Lyssa's arm and twisted it sideways. Which wouldn't be nice as she turned it furthur then the arm is meant to turn. She dropped it after a bit thogh.

Lyssa took a step back whenever Cassie had let go of her arm. She frowned at the other girl for a moment. Although, she'd expected to fail, she sort of wasn't expecting the other girl to catch the punch at the same time.

A flash of light came from somewhere outside of the corrider aiming for Lyssa. Though Caissie didn't have the time to look around to see where it had come from. Lyssa;s back was to it so she couldn't see it. Without really thinking about it Cassie pushed Lyssa out of the way only realising at the last moment that she would get hit though she couldn't do anything about that by then. The light hit her and as if someone had flicked off a light switch everything went black.

Lyssa stumbled a bit as she got pushed, but she didn't fall. She turned to look at what happened, to see Cassie unconscious on the ground. Then she looked down the hall to see someone. They seemed to be preoccupied with someone else at the moment though, so Lyssa took the opportunity to knock Cassie's wand away from her before going down the hallway to get her own. Once it was back in her hand, she took the opportunity t disappear up the stairs nearest to her.

Cassie awoke sometime later feeling a little bit disoriented, the room spun when she tried to sit up. Using the wall for support she stood up, shutting her eyes to the room wouldn't spin around her. She tried to recall what had happened. Light, moving Lyssa out of the way, darkness. "Ugh," She groaned putting her hand to her head, she scanned the floor for her wand scowling when she couldn't find it. She supposed Lyssa had done something with it. Lovely. Using the wall as a support she made her way to the staircase and then grabbed the handrail to go up. She supposedtheir would be less fighting higher up, and as she could barely move without everything spinning and she didn't have a wand Cassie supposed getting away from the fighting would be a good idea.

Once she made it up the stairs, Lyssa looked around the floor she was on, finding no one else around. She sighed slightly, wishing she were back at the Manor, reading her book. It was just getting interesting when she'd had to stop to come here. She walked over to where a suit of armor was, sitting next to it. Her arm and head were slightly sore from either getting twisted oddly or smacking a wall. Overall, unpleasant.

Cassie stumbled up the stairs, nearly falling over a few times. She got to the top leaning heavily against the wall, climbing the stairs had excerted the last of her strength. But she needed to get furthur into the school and away from the staircase in whch people might come up and see her. Somewhere furthur into a hallway she sunk down, eyes shut and leaning on the wall behind her.

Once Jono got the chance he went to go look for that girl he'd accidentally hit with a spell before. It was her own fault really for pushing the original target out of the way. He'd seen the Malfoy (he knew she was a Malfoy, there was no mistaking the features) kick the other girl's wand away, so upon not finding the girl he went in search of that first, n headed up the stairs, figuring if you wanted to avoid fighting that would be where you'd go. He walked through that hall, until he saw the girl. "Hey," he said as he got close enough for her to hear. "I found your wand."

"Thanks," Cassie said taking the wand off of the person, she didn't know him but she supposed that that didn't matter. If he was giving her wand back then they were on the same side. She couldn't put it in her pocket as that didn't work when one was sitting down so she just placed it on her lap.

Jono was about to walk off, but figured he may as well apologize for knocking her out. "Er," he started, "sorry for knocking you out a while ago. I wasn't aiming at you." He shrugged somewhat, going to walk off.

"Not your fault," Cassie told him standing up slowly. The world wasn't as spinnyas it had been not that long before. She sighed pocketing her wand and blinking a few times, trying to settle the world around her. "I need to stop trying to help her," She said more to herself then the person. "It jsut ends up giving me the short end of the stick."

Jono had already walked out of ear-range, and so did not hear Cassie talking. He needed to get back to the dueling, so as to help out.
