Revenge is Sweeter Than You Ever Were

The two girls continued to work as such, making it about a quarter through the long list of steps before the class was over. Before the class was let out, everyone was told to research the rare ingredient used in step 20 with their partner. If Lyssa thought being partnered to Cassie couldn't get any worse, it just did. They would have to work outside of class together?

Cassie frowned at Slughorn. She did not want to work out of class with bloody Malfoy. But she doubted she would do the work on her own and Cassie sure as hell was not. Which meant that they would have to work together to get it done.

Lyssa packed her things back into her bag, a little rougher than she probably should have. Then she looked at Cassie. "We're getting it done tonight, so we don't have to put up with each other for another two days," she said. "Because I'm not doing it on my own, and I wouldn't trust you to."

Cassie rolled her eyes at her. She was capable of doing it on her own. She just didn't want to. "Sure," She said with a slight shrug. "When and where?"

Lyssa pushed her bangs out of her eyes, wondering when they had fallen in them to begin with. "Library, obviously. Right after dinner. The quicker it's done the quicker I can get out of your presence."

"Sure," Cassie said grabbing her bag and walking over to where Tiffany was. Pat made his way over to them while they waited for Tiffany. "Have fun Cassie?" He asked her. She gave him an irritated look.

Tiffany laughed as Cassie gave Pat a look. "I think she had a fun time," she said. "Which ingredient was that that you got all over you anyway? It didn't look pleasant."

Lyssa walked out of the classroom, meeting up with Draco and Jaclyn. "That was the most ridiculous class ever. I can't believe I got paired with that...UGH!" she ranted.

"I don't even remember," Cassie said looking at her robes, which were still covered in whatever ingredient it was. "I should go change it before dinner." She said looking at it. Then she frowned. "Need to do that stupid other work after dinner. bah." Patrick smiled amused. "Shut up," Cassie told him. "Didn't say anything." "You were thinking it." He rolled his eyes still smiling.

Jaclyn frowned sympatheticly, though she was actually quite amused at how Lyssa and Evans couldn't seem to get along even if their grades depended on it. Though she wouldn't say that to Lyssa as she would not find it amusing.

"Pat, leave her alone before she hits you in the face," Tiff said to him. "I wouldn't put it passed her right now to do it either. She looks quite angry."

Lyssa decided she wanted to continue ranting on about Cassie and stuff like that, so she said, "First, she gives me numerous bruises -thankfully you can only see the one on my face- from hitting me. And then we go and get paired up by that stupid excuse of a teacher, who doesn't know what the hell he's doing half the time..."

"Fine," Pat said with a sigh, but he was still grinning. Cassie narrowed her eyes at him but let it drop. While the others headaed to the great hall Cassie went up to the common room to change into some clean robes.

"SLughorn's an idiot," Jaclyn said with a nod. "Snape at least only tormented the other houses and left us alone."

Dinner went by and soon enough, Lyssa found herself waiting in the library for Cassie to show up. She had said promptly after dinner and she'd been waiting for at least ten minutes now. She noticed the other girl walk in and made the effort to note, "You're late."

Cassie rolled her eyes at Malfoy and then sat down on the table next to her. It wasn't her fault she had to change and then eat. And the got distracted by an arguement with Patrick. Well. Maybe the arguement was partly her fault. But that was beside the point.

"Well," Lyssa said, "let's get this over with so I don't have to be in your presence any longer than need be." She scowled openly at the idea of spending time with Evans. She'd rather have a hangnail.

Cassie rolled her eyes at the girl again, she was quite a drama queen. "Alright," She said sitting down and running a hand through her hair. "What do we need to do first?"

Lyssa rolled her eyes. "Well, obviously we need to get the information we need, now don't we?" she asked, returning the question with another.

Cassie rolled her eyes. (Jeez these two do that a lot). And the two girls started to work on their project thing.

Much of the working was spent snapping at each other, but eventually they got it finished.

"Bleh," Cassie muttered once they were done. That had been awful, mostly because she had to work with stupid bloody Malfoy.

Lyssa rolled her eyes at Cassie as she checked if the ink was dry. Upon discovering that it was she tucked it away in her bag. Best not to leave it to the trouble-making Gryffindor.

Cassie was feeling somewhat annoyed at Malfoy. She didn't like not being trusted with the work and all that crap. Just because she was a Gryffindor didn't make her unrealiable. Though to be fair, if it were the other way around Cassie would probably be doing the exact same thing.
