Revenge is Sweeter Than You Ever Were

"Not really," Cassie said turning on her foot and walking off. "Fat lot of help you guys are," She muttered as theywalked off. "You were doing fine on you're own," Patrick said shrugging. "And it's amusing watching you whack people into the walls." She rolled her eyes.

Lyssa rolled her shoulder, glaring at the Gryffindors as they walked off and contemplating hexing them from behind, but that was cowardly and ennoble. But, hey, she was a Slytherin and sneaky, underhanded things was what they did. She aimed her wand at Cassie's back and did a spell that would make her trip over seemingly nothing.

Cassie tripped, she had no idea what on, but she did. as she feel she grabbed Patrick and the two of them tumbled into the ground. Patrick as it happened got the brunt of the fall. "What the heck Cassie?" He asked her pushing the girl off him and standing up, before putting his hand out to help her up. "No idea," Cassie said with a shrug, taking his hand. "I just slipped," "On air?" "It happens."

Lyssa couldn't help but laugh as not only Cassie, but one of the guys fell over. That was utterly priceless, although it would have been funny if they'd all fallen as a sort of domino effect.

"You don't just fall on air," Pat said. "Then what did I just fall on?" Cassie asked him raising an eyebrow. "And invisable person perhaps?" Drew rolled his eyes. "You two, honestly." Cassie grinned at him. "It's fun though," she said to Drew. He just sighed.

Lyssa turned to Draco and Jaclyn. "Time to head back to the common room, I guess. And if I have a single bruise, not only will I ignore you two for a week for not helping me out, but then Evans is gonna get it, and she's not going to like it."

"You would have done the same for us," Jaclyn said sweetly to her freind. "You'dmutter something about pressing ingagements and be down the hall before I've blinked twice." The three of them headed down the hall to the Slytherin common room.

"No, I would have snitched," Lyssa corrected her friend.

"Which would have somehow gotten to McGonagall and somehow again landed us in trouble for doing something we didn't do. No thank you."

"Meh, but you wouldn't be getting hurt that way," Lyssa said in her defense. "So it would be better all around."

The rest of the day passed for the Gryffindors and the Slytherins without much of an incident. Unless one counted someone knocking over an inkpot all over Patrick's work and him tackling the poor fourth year to the ground. Which Cassie found somewhat amusing though felt bad for the kid as he probably hadn't meant it. Probably. When it was Pat, Cassie couldnt be sure.

Lyssa woke up feeling quite sore the next morning. She was up before anyone else and walked to the bathroom to change. As she was doing so she noticed random bruises from the day before. Lyssa cursed how easily Malfoys bruised and then scowled. She had no way of getting rid of them, since she couldn't do it herself, and going to the nurse about them would take her explaining what happened. Most of them would be hidden by her uniform anyway, except the one on her face. She frowned at the mirror before leaving to go to breakfast.

"Well look at that," Tiff said as she saw Lyssa walk in the Great Hall that morning. She motioned for the others to look. "Ouch, that looks painful," Justin commented as he saw the bruise that had formed on Lyssa's cheek in the night. "How hard did you hit her?"

Cassie looked up as Tiffany said something, she followed where Tiffany was pointing and saw Lyssa. "I have no idea," She said to Justin actually a little surprised at the bruise, it did did look rather painful. Pat smiled amused. "She got what she deserved," He said with a shrug. "But jeez Cassie you're hit really is getting pretty hard." "Eh," She said with a shrug.

Jaclyn walked down with Lyssa to breakfast the next morning, the bruise on her face didn't look at all pleasant but Jaclyn wasn't going to comment on it, because knowing Lyssa she'd get snapped at. And it was too early to get snapped at.

Lyssa settled at the Slytherin table, ignoring any whispers from her housemates. They all knew better than to ask her directly about the bruise. She looked along the Gryffindor table for a moment, until her eyes landed on Cassie. Then they narrowed.

"Oh she looks like she's in a lovely mood," Cassie said laughing picking up her spoon and continueing to eat her breakfast. Drew snickered slightly. "Just along as she doesnt try and pay you back for that." Cassie looked at him. "What would she do? If she tries anything I can give her another bruise to match the first one." Drew rolled his eyes. "Sometimes Cassie, you are too overconfident." "You wouldn't love me if I was different," She said with a laugh.

"Meh," Tiffany said in response. "I think you should get knocked down a couple of notches. Would deflate your head some. It could use it before you start tipping over from the weight of it." She laughed at Cassie's expression.

"Hey!" Cassie exclaimed indignently. "I am not that full of myself," "Keep telling yourself that Cassie," Pat said with a laugh. She threw her spoon at him. "A spoon?" He asked picking it up. "Why a spoon?" "well I wasn't going to throw my bowl as I was eating." She said with a shrug grabbing another spoon.

"I think you should have thrown the bowl," Justin muttered. "It would have been funnier. And don't you even think about throwing it at me just because I said that." Then he stuck his tongue out at Patrick as he scowled at him.

"Like I'd throw the bowl, then I'd have to get bothered to pour myself more cereal. Which I really can't."

"Well that's not my fault now is it?" Justin asked her, reaching for a piece of bacon.

The group bantered for a while long until it was time for class. 7th years had Potions.

"What class do we have?" Cassie asked finishing off her cereal, she dropped the spoon into the bowl and then pushed it forward away from her. "Potions," Drew replied standing up, the rest of the group slowly started to rise and the six of them headed out of the great hall. "Hrm," Cassie said with a slight frown. "Could be worse I guess," She said. With Snape no longer teaching the class potions didn't rank so low on her favourite class list.

They got to the potions classroom and entered the room, taking their spots at their usaul spot. Which was in the back of the classroom, like usaul. It was the best place in the classroom to sit. "Wonder what we're doing," Pat mused leaning back onto the wall in his chair. Cassie was very tempted to push him off. They'd finished their last project the lesson before and so would be starting something new this class.

Professor Slughorn entered the room, about a minute after the bell had rung. He took his time getting to his desk and dumped his things on it before turning to the class. "Okay," He said gathering the class' attention. Pat rolled his eyes. He didn't like Slughorn, though he did have to admit that Slughorn was better then Snape. Only a mad person would disagree. "We are going to be working in partners." Cassie's eyes flittered towards Tiffany, and nodded to show that she wanted to partner with her. "Now," Slughorn continued smiling merrily. "I am going to be assigning partners."

Cassie's eyes narowed, she didn't like it when teachers assingned partners, she always ended up with idiot she couldn't stand. "Bugger him," Patrick muttered sourly. "Don't even know why I take this stupid class." "Because it's your best class?" Cassie whispered back as Slughorn started to assign partners. "Yeah, that shows a lot about my acidemics, doesn't it?"

"Miss Evans," Slughorn said, Cassie glanced up at him. Wondering who he was going to partner her with. If it was a Slytherin she was going to kill him. "You're with Miss Malfoy." Cassie's eyes narrowed at him, figured she be partnered with bloody Malfoy. She scowled at Slughorn, muttering under her breath. He seemed oblivious to her glarings as he continued partnering up students.

Beside her Patrick was laughing quietly. "Have fun Cass," he said grinning at her. "Try not and get a det." "Shut it," Cassie hissed back kicking at his ankle from under the table. He grinned. "I'm winning this one." Cassie's eyes narrowed at him. "You wish." "Cassie, you're partnered with Malfoy, you are going to do something stupid enough to land you in a det."

Cassie frowned, deciding that she was going to do her best not to get a det. Because a) she didn't want a det and b) because she wasn't going to lose to Pat and she really did not want to do his homework for a month.

She scowled at the teacher, teachers didn't seem to realize that partnering people together instead of letting them chose their partners didn't make them very popular.

Lyssa, who was already in a bad mood when she got to potions, only had her mood improved when she got partnered off with the last person she wanted to be partnered with. Her eyes narrowed at Slughorn, but she didn't say anything, since she wanted to avoid unwanted attention and getting in trouble. Instead, she would deal with it to the best of her ability. She looked at her so-called partner and scowled.

Slughorn finished partnering off people, he probably didn't notice that half of the class was giving him annoyed looks. Unhappy with who they had been partnered with. He started to explain the project, it was a project that needed two people to work on it, because doing it on your own would be rather difficult.

As it turned out it was a long-term project, so everyone would be stuck with their partners for a while and it would probably require out of class work as well. This just made Lyssa feel more angry than she already was. She didn't want to work with Evans at all. But she didn't want to fail more. So she resigned herself to deal with it.

"Get to work," Slughorn said. There was a bustle as students got up to grugingly go to work with their partners. Cassie scowled, grabbing her bag and flounced over to the side of the room where Malfoy was. She sat down in the seat next to her dropping her book.
