Revenge is Sweeter Than You Ever Were

Lyssa basically ignored Cassie as the girl sat down. Until she decided to speak that is. "I want to do this as little as you do, but we're stuck with it so don't mess things up," she said without even looking at the other girl.

Cassie looked at her. "I want to fail just about as much as you do," She said frowing at the teacher. "I am not going to just mess it up."

Lyssa shrugged. "I wouldn't put it passed you to fail just to screw me over," she said. "You have no qualms about doing other things after all."

Cassie rolled her eyes. "But that, doesn't effect my schooling directly. Potions is a class that I need to become what I want when I finish school." She pulled out her book flipping it open to the page they needed. She made a face at it, the potion was long and complex and would take ages to do. "Bloody hell," She muttered. She did not want to be partnered with Malfoy for very long.

Lyssa quirked an eyebrow. "You're actually doing something that involves magic after school's out?" she said. "Now that, I will admit, is surprising to me."

Cassie shrugged. "If I wanted to do something in the muggle world I would have had to go through a muggle highschool. Which I didn't, and so unless I want to spend the next six years once I'm out of here studying again, just so I can study to go to uni to get a job. I'd rather not. The Wizarding world aint bad, but neither is the muggle one."

Lyssa just sort of shrugged at her, pulling out her book. She turned to the page and frowned at it. The potion did not look fun, at all. "Well," she muttered. "Might as well get started..."

"Suppose so," Cassie said with a slight shrug. She ran her finger down the ingredients list, trying to remember as many as she could so she didn't need to take too many trips to the storage cardboard. She got the ingrediens for the first six or so steps, because getting ingrediesnts for the last few would have been pointless.

While Cassie wandered off to get the ingredients, Lyssa set up the cauldron and got out the objects that they would need, such as a knife to cut things, and a scale, etc. Now it was time to actually make the thing, and this was probably were the arguing would start, since they probably had different ways of handling these types of things.

"Alright," Cassie said glancing at her book and to the step they were up to. Which was like the second, the first being gather ingredients and equiptment. She read over the instruction, grabbing the nessesary ingredient and her silveknife.

Lyssa looked at Cassie cutting the ingredient. "Who taught you how to cut things?" she asked. "Because that looks like a first year did it."

"I can cut just fine," Cassie replied narrowing her eyes. "Anyway, it all turns into liquid at the end so what does it matter what it looks like when you put it in?"

"You apparently do not understand potion making. The appearance of the ingredient is just as important at the ingredient itself. One little thing being off changes the whole potion into something else. Like in step six where it has to be cut precisely into half inch pieces."

"You know what," Cassie snapped at her. "I really do not care right now. I'm irritated and I do not work well when I'm irritated." She continued cutting, not taking much care with it because of her mood.

"Well too bad," Lyssa snapped. "You're just going to end up messing everything up if you keep that up. And it's just the first step!"

"If you weren't gripping at me, i wouldn't be stuffing it up." Cassie retorted hotly, finishing cutting up the ingredient.

"You were messing it up before I ever opened my mouth. If you would think back a minute that's why I started talking at all." She grabbed the second ingredient and accurately measured out how much the step said they needed.

Cassie rolled her eyes, adding her ingredient into the caldron and watching Malfoy measure out the next ingredient. Cassie didn't have the patience to be a potioner, she liked to do things quickly and potions you had to do everything right.

Lyssa finished up her measurement and poured the powder-y substance in the potion, adding in the little stir the step said to do.

Cassie took the cup off Lyssa and grabbed the next ingredient, measuring out how much they needed. She decided she was better at making cakes then potions, cause a little too extra or too little of something didn't make too much of a difference.

The two went on doing things as such until they got to a step that would require cooperation from both of them at once. And it was a matter of deciding which one would do which part of the step and such.

"You stir I'll pour the ingredient," Cassie said glancing over the step, this class was not going well. Not by a long shot.

"Ha, no. You're stirring. I'll bother with the ingredients. This one is precise, a skill you obviously lack," Lyssa said, reaching for the ingredient.

"I can do it just fine," Cassie replied going for the ingredient herself, the two girls hands got it at the same time. "Let go," Cassie muttered holding firmly onto the thing.

"No, you let go. I'm pouring it in," Lyssa said, not relinquishing her grip on the container. "You can stir. I'm sure that's going to challenge your intellect anyway, since you have to change direction every so often."
