Pieces of Two Different Puzzles

"Night after then," The teacher said. "You both may leave."

Linnie scowled at the teacher and went about trying to figure out how to get a detention for that night as well. She could easily get one every night for the rest of the school year if she had to, although that would put her on the line for expulsion.

Azy sighed and left the classroom, making her way to the great hall to eat dinner before going back to the common room.

Linnie (somehow) checked the time and noticed that she had some time for dinner before her detention, for which she was thankful. She went to eat then went to her detention.

The next couple of days went too quickly, and Linn didn't manage to land a detention for the night she was meant to be tutored, so she was feeling rather put out.

Azy didn't want to tutor the kid. She had other things she could be doing with her time, the other girl didn't even want her help anyway. So it was pointless. She got to the library, pulling a book off of the shelf to read while she waited.

Linnie made her way to the library where she and the other girl were meant to be meeting, making sure she was late to it on purpose, so that she wouldn't have to endure it as long as she would if she were on time. Linn reached the library and walked over, sitting across from the other girl who was reading.

Azy glanced up when she heard footsteps, and put the book down seeing the girl. "Okay," She said. "What do you need the most help with? and don't say nothing because you do."

"Okey, then I'll tell ya the truth. I need 'elp with everythin'," Linnie replied. "I don't get this stupid Transfig stuff."

"It's not stupid," Azy muttered under her breath. "I'll rephrase. What can you do? Transfiguration wise?'

"Abou' a good load of nothin'," Linnie said. "I barely been scrapin' by in the class since I started 'ere."

"That's not being very helpful," Azy said with a slight frown.

"Wot am I s'posed to say then? I told you I don't get the stuff. None o' it. It don't make no sense to me. 'Ow is that not 'helpful?"

Azy sighed. "Do I need to go back to what we learnt in first year?" She asked the girl.

"Probably. Although, I don't see the use. 'm not worth you time. Really 'm not. 'm really worth no one's time 'ere. 'm just a poor girl 'oo got lucky."

"Well the Professor is going to want to know how this is going, so I'm going to have to." Azy sighed slightly.

Linnie shrugged. "So, where are we gonna start, since we gotta do this?"

"At the beginging I suppose." She conjured a thing of straw. "Can you turn that into a needle?"

Linn looked at the thing of straw. "Probably not, but I can give it a try?" She was pretty sure her problem with Transfig wasn't the spells themselves, but picturing what she wanted it to turn into. Her mind operated in a very 'it is what it is' way.

Azy shrugged, waiting to see if the girl could.

Linnie looked at it, biting her lip and trying to picture needles in her mind and trying to picture the straw being a needle. She took out her wand, and gave it a whirled muttering the incantation, which sounded just a little odd due to her accent.

Cj doesn't know what to post as there is nothing her character is doing right now.

The hay straw didn't change any and Linnie sighed. "Nothin'" she remarked uselessly. "You don't think its me pronunciation, do you?"

"That might have something to do with it," Azy said frowning somewhat. She flicked her wand, saying the incantation and changing the straw to a needle. She changed it back. "Take your time on trying to get the pronuniatng right."

Linnie frowned slightly, wondering how she could go about working on pronouncing things. It wasn't her fault she had a weird accent. She tried again, going slow and trying to enunciate each part of the spell.
